"There were no "issues" as Ms. [member name removed] is alluding to. It was explained and discussed with Ms. [member name removed] from the beginning that her project would only require one slab, as it was nearly 64 square feet in size, and her kitchen only required 48 square feet. During one of her many visits (on 6/10 or 6/11) we explained to her that a maximum of two seams would possibly be required (and showed her where they would possibly be located), and she seemed more than OK with that, and expressed her desire not to have to go into the expense of two slabs. We also explained to her that we could possibly only need one seam, depending where her sink was located, as her drawing was not that detailed. She was going to call us with that information so we could better determine - we never received that information. There was never a plan to "butcher" the slab as she is claiming, as that is not how we produce our jobs. It was nearly two weeks after her visit, that she signed our Estimate and Customer Contract (which clearly stated that it was based on a one slab requirement), and paid her deposit on 6/22/15. Additionally, her material had been on hold at the supplier for four weeks - two weeks longer than that of their maximum hold time (which is clearly stated on the documentation she received from them). We had no control over the release of hold on that second slab after such time passed, however it was insignificant as it was not going to be needed. Ms. [member name removed] came in to our showroom on 7/16/15 demanding a full refund (after sending nasty emails earlier that day). We again tried to explain to her that one slab was more than plenty and possible seam placement. We also explained the terms of our contract that she signed (15% minimum cancellation fee), and that of returning special order items (material that is not purchased from our stock) and the possible restocking fee (25% with this particular supplier), to which she was not satisfied with, making threats that a relative of hers was an attorney, among other behaviors exhibited by her body language. After talking to our supplier, he waived the restock fee as he had other parties interested in the material, a check for Ms. [member name removed]'s full deposit was issued to her."
