We had water damage in both instances and the losses occurred roughly a week apart. I called the company on a Monday during normal business hours and the arrived the next business day. Yet, they added a hefty service charge for an EMERGENCY service call! Obviously I questioned this and they said it was business as usual for them to charge in this manner.
In addition to the charges above, they charged us with TWO dump trucks full of debris instead of combining them. This house is next door sot that was a real head scratch. What makes this funny is that they actually threw paint in the trashcan next rather than taking the material with them even though they charged hefty fees twice for dump truck loads. Mind you, the material removed from both homes was only about 10 trashbags full. The paint they threw away was in the rental property next door and they also spilled some on the carpet!
One of the other frustrating things that occurred was the vulgarity of the workers. When they were ripping out drywall at my home I had to leave for work. They had 4 people working in our home at that time. My wife calls me to tell me that their workers were in the laundry room a few feet from my children, whom were eating there breakfast at the time. My wife said one of the workers received a phone call that was heated and repeatedly said the words FUC_ and SHI_ while on the phone. This made her while the man was cursing. This was very uncomfortable for her and the children and me very angry my young children were subjected to such words. I told JAMES and he told me he fired the guy the next day. When he told me that it really made me uncomfortable. Now not only have my kids been subjected to foul language, there could be an unsavory character that is blaming my family for getting him fired! Needless to say I was a bit stressed out thinking that someone knows my family is to blame for them being fired. For all I know he could be holding a grudge. Mind you, I never asked for the guy to be fired. I would have been more than happy for other disciplinary action. What was done couldn't be changed. I wanted to prevent this type of thing from happening to other families.
When James first got in my home, he looked at the damage and said if we went with him for all repairs to the home he would refund our $500 dollar deductible. I chose not to go with James because I told him I wanted other people to bid on the job to make sure my insurance company wasn't getting ripped off. He told me he wasn't going to bid against other people! He wanted no competition whatsoever. I told him we went with his company for two properties and the least he could do was put in a bid. After being pushed, he agreed to bid. I told him to forget about it because I was already so upset with him and the company.
When my paneling was being removed, James' crew broke the washing machine drain that was attached to my main drain line in my house. I was able to get in the crawl space to fix the plumbing. However, it wasn't an easy task. I wish they would have been careful.
The last negative thing I'll say before my job summary is the way they handled the deductible on the other claim at the property next door. I didn't want to go with James in my residence because he didn't want to bid against anyone and the people he had at my house were vulgar and unsavory. Our family had his team do the work next door at the rental property. When I asked him about the $500 deductible on the OTHER insurance policy for the house next door he said no. He wouldn't honor it. He said the project in my house was 3 times larger, which was flat out false. My total claim was about 5k, which was less than the claim on the rental property! He said my entire floor needed replaced, which it didn't because the insco found a flooring match.
If anyone would like to verify these claims I'm making, I have documentation to back them up. Please feel free to email me at [email protected]
