The new roof is great, but this contractor's team was awful and I would NEVER hire them again. They totally disrespected our property and left a mess behind. They tracked mud all over our deck, broke branches off bushes, smashed irises that had been planted by my late father, and left roofing nails all around the property. We found five roofing nails in the bottom of the pool. Worst of all -- and this is both shocking and totally inexecusable -- one of their crew urinated against a maple tree in our back yard, in full view of our neighbors (both of whom have small children). When we expressed our outrage over this incident, the owner refused to make any price adjustment and instead mailed us a gift card for a restaurant we don't even like. They'll never set foot on our property again. Too bad, because they're decent roofers.

I don't know the whole story as I bought this house after J&B Home Improvement, Inc. dba J&B Roofing did the above-described work. I do know that I have a contract in hand dated May of 2007 that states that there is a ten-year warranty on their labor. We recently had a leak in our roof, the second in six months of owning this house (in two different spots). We called J&B and instead of even offering to have someone look at the roof, we were told that because we were not the original owners the warranty would not transfer. There is nothing on the contract to indicate that the warranty is not transferable. The owner would not even speak to wife about this issue. We had another company come out for damage control and they provided numerous pictures of damage and work that was done incorrectly by J&B, which means that we will be paying to have that fixed, and probably going after J&B for recovery.

They did a good job. They tore up my gutters and I had to have them replaced. As far as the roofing goes, they did a good job. But everything else I could have done without.

We suffered damage from a hail storm. We had some problems with the installation of some of the doors. It took a while for them to respond to us over the problems. The man who repaired our chimney had gotten the wrong color brick. He did eventually rectify that.

Very good installation job. Completed jobs in very timely manner. Good cleanup. Only complaint is that the gutter guards were reinstalled poorly.

I got several estimates and I chose them because I thought that their price was fair. I have a very large roof and it is an old house. It had several layers of shingles on it. The bottom layer was a thick sheet of copper. They took these copper sheets and put them in the yard and it was Labor Day weekend. It was stolen at that time. It was a thirteen men crew and it was kind of an inside job. The foreman was very upset about the whole thing. They were fine when they did the job. There were a couple of things that they had to come back and fix. Recently there was hail damage. I called my insurance company and they came out. They gave me an estimate of what the damages would be. I called J & B Roofing because they had done my original roof. The guy just came out and went off. I called two or three times and they didn?t get back to me. I am kind of annoyed with them right now.

They did a great job. The salesman was great, they did the job when they said they would do the job, and it was done on time. The cleanup was good. We found a couple little shingle bits, but that's to be expected.

It went well. Mr. Lowrie came over, gave estimate and workers came as expected. Only issue was the re-bolting of the Sunbrella awning. Bolts not put back in tight enough so awning came loose a couple of months later. My husband was able to re-bolt, so it was not necessary to call J & B back.

They had my house done in two days! They cleaned up every night before they left, raked the yard....ect. They even fixed some siding that was falling down due to a terrible experience! J&B is one of the best companies I have used and I have hired a lot of companies over the years. I am very pleased and impressed with the job they did and I would highly recommend them to everyone!

BIG GRIPE was with soffit vents - - I assumed they would be sawed out to about 4" x 15" hole before placing the grill cover on. Instead they merely drilled 3 one inch holes for each soffit vent or a total about 3 sq inches for each vent instead of the expected 4" x 15" cut out 60 sq inches. I didn't discover this until a week after the job was done. This was a totally unacceptable practices money maker. It turns out that this is their standard practice. J & B pleaded ignorance re soffit venting. At $35 each this is a nice cash cow rip off!! After one false start (don't ask!) to correct the problem, their foreman came out and personally sawed out a 4" x 15" hole for each vent. This Left a very bad taste for their lack of professional understanding of ventilation standards!!???

The roofer arrived as scheduled, immediately examined the problem inside and outside, resealed and re-caulked the flashing surrounding the attic vent. He instructed to call back if the leak persisted; it hasn't. I was very relieved to hear that J&B Roofing honored their warranty despite a change of ownership. Thanks!

MARK RESPONDED TO OUR CALL FOR AN ESTIMATE ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AND DELIVERED THE ESTIMATE TO US PERSONALLY, BRINGING SHINGLE SAMPLES WITH HIM. HE SCHEDULED THE WORK LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AFTER WE HIRED THEM FOR THE JOB. COST WAS VERY REASONABLE COMPARED TO OTHER ESTIMATES OBTAINED. THEY DID SOME EXTRA THINGS FOR US AS THEY PUT ON THE ROOF, AND STILL STUCK TO HIS ORIGINAL ESTIMATE. HIS CREW SHOWED UP ON TIME, AND FINISHED THE JOB IN LESS THAN A WEEK. CLEAN-UP WAS VERY GOOD AND THEY TOOK CARE NOT TO DESTROY OUR PLANTS.
