Keyboard failed on my laptop. Searched internet for close computer repair business, as I'm tired of being gouged by the big box stores and/or the computer manufacturer. I found Eastgate Computers to be local, friendly, knowledgable, and responsive. Dropped off the computer for his analysis. He phoned me the same day confirming the keyboard was out. Normally, at the computer manufacturer, this keyboard would be $79 and another $79 for labor, and extra $$$ for round trip shipping, and wait 10 days.
Dave ordered the keyboard (under $40) and returned the laptop to me. While it was being shipped to him, I plugged in an external keyboard to the USB port and could still use the laptop. Three days later, Dave called, as the keyboard arrived. I dropped off the keyboard for him to install and diagnose. An hour later he was ready. Charge for labor was only $40.
So instead of being without my laptop for 10 days and spending about $200, I was without it for a few hours (the whole process took 3 days) and spent $80!!!
I highly recommend Eastgate Computers!
