Tried to do our homework researching roofing contractors to do a complete tear-off and re-roof job to our house and detached garage. Hired Kennedy Roofing Specialists based on numerous five-star reviews. What a mistake we made!!! The job this company did to our home was anything but a professional roofing job. Not what we expected at all. And certainly not consistent with all the wonderful reviews we had read. Many old roofing nails and staples were left on the roof. The new underlayment was put on not using “good roofing practices”. For example, not ALL of our hips on our hip roof were overlapped to ensure protection of the bare wood underneath. Didn’t even bring enough wood to the jobsite to repair the areas of rotted/damaged wood on our roof. In fact, a piece of rotted wood was left on the front of the house, and then they denied it was there. The drip edge was installed completely wrong on the entire detached garage and half of the house by attempting to use staples instead of nails. The staples did not even go through the drip edge and left bent, deformed staples that our brand-new shingles are sitting on! Did not use the manufacture recommended starter strips OR the alternative starter strips, again recommended by the manufacture. Chose to “make” their own version of a starter strip which has caused some shingles to not seal down the way they are supposed to. Their dumpster truck left oil and hydraulic fluid on our concrete driveway that I had to clean off. The vinyl siding of the garage now has asphalt streaks and gouges from shingles being carelessly removed from the roof. I recommend you also look at the google review I left where you will find pictures of the kind of work Kennedy Roofing Specialists does. At that point, you can decide if that is what you want on your, or your family’s home. FIND ANOTHER ROOFING CONTRACTOR!

Excellent. When we found a spot leak on upstairs ceiling, 2 roofers could not find the cause but highly praised the existing roof. I then found that Kennedy had installed the roof for a previous owner. They came, found a nail pop leak and fixed it free. Recently the roof fan quit so they gave an estimate and soon scheduled the replacement. The job was done quickly, it keeps the loft space cooler again, and has weathered 2 heavy downpours with no trouble.

John came for a bid, went on the roof for actual measuring and assessment. Without charge, he came down and got roofing sealant and went back on roof to fix some immediate leak issues. He said he would make a written bid and send to me which he did promptly. His professionalism is outstanding and his price was the best of 4 I got; by over $6,000 less than national chain. Their truck driver backed too far and bent some siding which no one knew about before they left upon completion - they repaired it 100% it right away without any question. The bid was to fix up to 2 panels of plywood if needed and they replace 4 and would not accept money for the extra 2 panels.

Went well, it's been 6 months with no leaking from the roof!

Kennedy Roofing Specialists removed old shingles and replaced rotting wood on my two car garage.  The new shingles look great.  I am really pleased with how well they cleaned up the job site.  I wasn't able to be present the day the work was done, but it didn't matter.  Kennedy Roofing took care of everything.

They did an excellent job.  They were very conscientious and used high quality materials and practices.

I found some wind damage to my "soffit"? where some aluminum pieces had blown off!!!  I took photos on Sunday and emailed them to John Kennedy.  He was out by noon on Monday to make the repair.  I fully expected I should pay him because it was wind damage, but he refused payment with a handshake.  So I wanted to give a nice Shout Out for John!!  Great service.

Kennedy Roofing Specialists did a wonderful job. We were extremely pleased in all aspects and would highly recommend them.

From the very beginning with a free quote to the very end....superior company to do business with.  John, the owner, does the estimates himself and yes, he does crawl up on the roof.  He explained things using common sense ......no BS whatsoever.  He and his wife provided us with addresses of homes that they did with the shingles we were interested in getting on our home.  This provided us with a much better idea of what they would look like on our home.  The workers came and did the roof in a day and a half and we could not be happier with it.

Super customer service just call and tell them what you need, they come out pretty quickly and will figure out exactly how to do it.  I highly recommend them.  I know its been a while since I had my roof put on but its good to know that I have not had one problem with it since then and am very happy with the job I would not hesitate to call them again.

I was SO impressed with Kennedy Roofing! The lady was really kind on the phone. They came out right away, and determined that there was nothing wrong with the roof itself, but that there was a good sized hole in the flashing around the pipe where the water was getting in. The gentleman fixed it, and just charged me the regular fee for coming out--no extra repair fee, AND at my request, evaluated my roof. I am trying to sell my house, so he put on the invoice that the roof was good for 3-5 years. NOT pushy at all, didn't try to scare me into repairs I didn't need or upsell me. I loved these people. So nice and down to earth. They were recommended by someone at my church, and a search on Angie's List confirmed that they were good to work with. I am going to leave their information for the new owners!

I can't stop looking at my new roof, it is so beautiful, along with the wonderful gutters and soffits.  John Kennedy and his crew were on top of everything inspire of the 90+ degree heat.  The crew was neat and polite and cleaned up after finished every day.  It was a long job because so much was replaced.  The roofing installation was surprisingly quiet!!   The new gutters and soffits match existing trim exactly.  I would highly recommend this company, and I think the price was very fair.

I invited John Kennedy over to take a look at my roof issues, give me a quote.  First thing we did was climb up on the roof- which I had found some other roofing companys' sales reps are not prepared to do.  We had long discussion while examining the roof and I was very impressed with his technical knowledge on how to find and fix roof leakage and how to install and care for a roof to make it last.  I was also impressed with his policy of using only people on his work crews who had a long history of doing roofing for his company. He took the time to do a a temporary repair of a local spot where my shingles and chimney flashing were in really bad shape ----at no charge.   Back on the ground, he gave me a run down of shingling types and colors that he could provide and left a sample board of shingles of the available colors. He gave me a quote that day, but there was no pressure to immediately commit to the job, and he promised a written quote with all the details within a week.  After my wife and I looked over the written quote, we committed to the job. The price was a little high, but we plan to stay in the house for a long time. We figured we were getting better value when you average the cost of maintenance and eventual replacement over the years. Kennedy Roofing also helped my wife and I select the shingle color. The company gave us a list of local addresses we drove to where we could see how the shingle colors looked across the expanse of an actual roof , which could look quite different than when viewing a sample shingle on a board.  As a result, we switched to another color, and now are very happy we did. 
The company showed up first thing on the scheduled day and the foreman of the work crew of a half dozen men filled me in on what they would be doing. Throughout the job, I went up on the roof to inspect the work and found the foreman and work crew very willing to show me what they were doing and and explaining why.  The foreman was very knowledgable on roofing installation, and I noticed closely supervised and worked with the crew throughout the whole job.  From talking with some of the crew during breaks, I learned that all on the crew had at least five years roofing experience with the company, exept one new guy who they were training. I also found they had a policy of everyone on the crew knowing everyone else's job to help assure quality and getting the job done on time.  Also, the whole crew of guys was very courteous and respectful to my wife.  Before they finished, the foreman made a point of inviting me up for a final inspection. From all the inspections I did during the job, and checking the attic after it has rained I believe they did a very high quality job without taking short-cuts.  Towards the end of day two, they did a very thorough clean-up and were done.  
Dealing with Kennedy Roofing has been an exceptionally good experience. I believe my wife and I were treated with great respect and professionalism, received great value for what we paid, and have peace of mind that our roofing job will serve us well for a long time. I  recommend Kennedy Roofing to anyone else looking for a high quality, long lasting roof. 
 
 

Promptly completed a careful estimate. Answered all questions. Work was completed in the time allotted. Job foreman carefully considered yard & deck damage when planning crew access, deliveries & refuse removal. Finished quality was excellent. Cleanup was also excellent. Final price was a little better than the estimate. The careful estimate meant that anticipated problems were priced up front, and costs were fair for both parties.

I had a wet spot on the ceiling on the upper floor after a heavy rain.  I contacted Kennedy Roofing to look at the roof and provide an estimate for repairs.  I did not realized that I had storm damage and would need to have the roof replaced.  I was dealing with Shari Kennedy via email.  Since I work long hours and don't have much time to make phone calls, Shari made it very easy for me with quick response by email.  Kennedy Roofing provided me with a very thorough written estimate.  When John came out to look at the roof, he could see the area that was leeking and put some sealant and some spare shingles down to temporarily stop the leak.  This allowed me some time to contact my insurance company and get another estimate. 
My insurance adjuster came up with a figure very close to Kennedy's Estimate.  Another roofing contractor immediately quoted $1,000.00 higher with a figure over the phone.  He told me they would not do a written estimate unless I commited to the job.
When I decided to accept Kennedy's proposal, they brought a color sample out to my home.  After I chose the color, they told me the job would be scheduled in about 2 1/2 weeks and would take 2 to 2 1/2 days to complete.  They stuck to their schedule.  When I got home from work on the 2nd day, everything was finished and completely cleaned up.

John came out very promptly. I got his name from a friend of mine who said his workmanship was excellent, price was reasonable, and was pleased with her experience with the company. John spent a lot of time looking at the roof. since I had received several different opinions on what was needed for the roof, and estimates, I was able to explain what I had been told about the roof problems. John said he noticed the areas that were responsible for the leak and sealed them. No charge. I nearly fell over! He also told me that my roof was in good condition, basically, and that was far different a picture that others had indicated who I had called for estimates. A bonus was that he gave me the name of someone who could repair a small crack in the crown of the chimney. I offered to pay John for the work completed. He refused, stating it would be unethical for him to notice something and not do something about it while he was up there if he was able to do so. I received a hand written estimate on the spot. It was very reasonable considering I had estimates up to 3x what John's was. I also received a detailed written estimate in the mail a few days later. Even though I look to Angie's list first for people to call, I am reminded that word of mouth and asking trusted friends for recommendations is also important. I sent John a thank you note. Even though I am not going to do a roof tear off right now, based on what John's estimation of my roof condition and years left, I WILL have him do my roof work when I do have it done in a year or so. I would HIGHLY recommend Kennedy Roofing to anyone looking for honest business people. Yes, they still exist. My experience with Kennedy Roofing reminded me of this.

They prevented any possible damage before they come. Their responsiveness was nice, and I didn't even need to be there while they patched. Easy to talk to and very informative.

This is the second time I used Kennedy Roofing. He did all the work when I was out of town. When I came back, I could only tell he was there by the new roof, they cleaned up so well. Both roofs were done quick and very well. For the price I feel I got a very good deal and would hire Kennedy again. They never demand payment up front. They send an invoice with 3 day terms. They are prompt and provide a good warranty, a fair price, quick work, and an accurate quote. Give them a call!

No one else would even provide an estimate. Kennedy just set a not-to-exceed price, came out and did the job, and then billed me. The repair worked great, and they are super easy to work with.
