Very nice results

I first contacted the vendor on September 2, 2014.  I was told that the business would be closed for vacation the following week and that someone would call me to set an appointment before the end of the current week.  The first open date for an appointment was September 18.  No one called back.  I called again after the vendor?s vacation shutdown and was told to submit my drawing so they could make a fabrication estimate.  I emailed the drawing and waited for a response ? none came.   I called again after 12 days and was told that they could not open the attachment to the email.  I emailed a new image which was acceptable to the vendor.  I was finally able to make a design review appointment for October 16.  A verbal cost estimate was prepared but no written estimate was provided.  The schedule was to have the item fabricated in 3 ? 4 weeks.  A number of calls were made after 3 weeks to check on fabrication progress.  For each of my many phone calls, I left messages to call me back on the project status.  No phone calls were returned.  I was finally successful in talking to the owner and was told that the project would be completed before Thanksgiving.  Several other phone calls and emails later without any response, it was approaching Christmas time and no completed project.  My last phone call indicated to the vendor was that I needed the item completed before I traveled to Florida for vacation on January 7.  No response.  When I returned from Florida on March 3, I called.  Glas Ornamental Metals returned the phone call to me on March 4 and said I could pick up my grill after 1:30 PM on Friday, March 6.  My suspicion was that they still had not finished the project and need two more days to complete it.  From first contact with Glas Ornamental Metals to project completion was over 6 months.  My expectation was for 4-6 weeks for this relatively simple fabrication.
My biggest criticism of Glas Ornamental Metals, Inc. was their complete lack of customer service.  Maybe my project was not big enough to warrant any attention, but at least they could have been far more communicative on project fabrication status.  I had used this business before in 1995 to fabricate some circular stairs and they did a fine job, on time, and with good communication.  Based upon my current experience with Glas Ornamental Metals, I will not use them for any future work.  The owner was always cordial and apologetic to me, however when running a business, one should keep projects on schedule and provide significantly more customer contact/communication on any issues arising during fabrication.  

We contacted them in late September and they came out, measured, and called with the estimate.
We went to the company and were shown the different styles and it was explained what they do.
Because the addition was a music room we had a Wrought iron g-clef placed inside each side of the
railing. They came out and installed the railing in cold. The men that did the installing were very courteous
and friendly. They appeared to be meticulous in getting everything secured and took a great deal of
time checking to see that all areas were covered with black gloss paint.

Glas Ornamental was recommended by a local professional hardware store. I was looking for a business that could refurbish our Church's wrought iron railing. Both sets of railing had deteriorated around the base from too much winter time salt. I went to visit the company to see for myself their work.
The did remarkable work on another customer's railing. I was impressed. I made the perfect decision to have Glass Ornamental do the work. The railing looks brand new.
