They gave us an estimate for tree removal. We accepted it and repeatedly called them to schedule an appointment but they kept saying they would get back to us and never did.

Trees look great!! Clean up was excellent.!! Would most definitely recommend and use again.

I would recommend them. They always come on time. They are great. They are professional and courteous. We have used them for about four to five years. They know us and we know them. They are really good and they know what they are doing. They get the job done and we never know that they were there. They clean up themselves.

I have used Highland Tree Services many times in the past and been so pleased with their responsiveness and professional work. I don't know what happened. Every time I called about getting on the schedule, the woman answering the phone kept putting me off, saying she would call back, but she never did. She always seemed confused and had trouble finding my paperwork, although I had a written estimate. I have waited 2 months since my original call and more than 6 weeks since I got the estimate.

Great job! We were very pleased with the work. It took a while to get on the schedule, but we were fine with that. Mike Sell is very knowledgeable, explains everything and is easy to work with. Very nice crew and a fair price.

I appreciate the responsiveness and price of the job. We did not have them perform the service because we couldn't wait a month. We were scheduled and Mike called and said he could not do it for at least a month. Since I am selling the house and needed the job done for the point-of-sale inspection, I couldn't wait that long. I would have used them in the future but I found another provide that did the job and I liked them a lot.

They told me they couldn’t get to me for a while and that was OK as it was not critical. They were very professional and knew how to climb the tree to trim it. They had to use ropes.

Mike responded to our inquiry very promptly (there are three others from whom I am still waiting for a response). They set an appointment for 3 days later that week. Showed up on time; accurately assessed the work to be done; gave us a quote at the same time. We felt it to be very reasonable. He said they would be out within a couple of weeks and would call first to set it up. We got a call 4 days later (this is in March when we have had snow storms for weeks and any mild day was a blessing!) The weather was mild, They were on time, did an excellent job, all debris was removed. We could not be there when they were. Billed us. I will definitely use them again. Very professional, courteous, business-like and skilled!

Clean and neat and quick. Also fair pricing. I called several tree companies to compare prices. He wasn't the cheapest but more mid-priced. They cut trees without damage to anything around it. Cleaned up mess and came back later to mulch the stumps. Mike is very professional and is quick to return phone calls and give estimates. The only thing was that when I asked him to leave firewood from cut trees, he only left a small amount. I thought with 3 cut trees I would have more firewood. He said he had already promised someone the wood to make a table.

They were good. I thought the price was fair. I would definitely call them if I have more tree work done. They were friendly. The guy who came out and gave me the quote was professional. The guys who took down the trees within a couple of days, I wasn't there when they were there but they did a fine job. It was a fair price. When he came out and gave me the quote, I didn't get any other quote, it seemed reasonable to me. They actually came out earlier than the appointment that they originally have given me.

I have used Mike for many years. Mike was a referral to me and I have referred him to many, many friends and neighbors. The neighbor to the left of me and to the right of me share services when Mike comes out. Many of the trees Mike works on for me and the neighbors are between homes so it is great that all of us are satisfied. Mike will give you his best advice based on the health of the tree. I have an ash tree that continues to thrive because of the care Mike has given it over the years. Mike comes and his staff come when they say they will and clean up everything. I have never had a problem.

I had used Highland Tree several years ago. Just as before, I was completely satisfied. Mike was here promptly to review what I wanted and came up with an estimate to do the work. Once I agreed we set a date. He and his team showed up when they said they would, did all the work I wanted and cleaned the yard up to the point you would have a hard time knowing they were even there. I have no complaints. I called 4 separate tree removal companies, and Highland Tree was the most affordable as well, I will use them again.

Excellent work. Mike is a true professional. Even gave us contacts to a saw mill, and left us the mulch! Trees removed were an sick and tall pine, 1 hemlock near the garage foundation, also a large hemlock in the backyard which was blocking a lot of light and close to foundation, and a birch near foundation. A crane was used for the large hemlock, trunk of the pine, and birch.

Mike came out for an estimate in early July, a few weeks after the tree fell on my neighbor's property. I had previously gotten a few other quotes from other vendors that seemed high and checked out the reviews on Angie's list to find. He gave me a great quote and I immediately asked him when he'd be able to come out with a crew. He said it was a busy summer and that it would be a few weeks. I was ok with this, as the tree that was down on my neighbor's property was not a threat to safety, just a bit of an eyesore. Unfortunately, I didn't realize just how long it would take, though I didn't press the issue. My neighbor also told me that one weekend would not be a possibility because of family being in town, which was also just about when Mike said we'd be lined up to have service done. Needless to say, it was a a few more weeks until they were able to come out and do the service. I was ok with the wait, my neighbor was getting antsy though, unfortunately. Anyway, once Mike and his crew came out, they did a great. job. The job took about one day for 7 sizeable trees. They didn't leave any debris behind and the stumps looked great. The following day ( a Saturday!) they came back and ground down the stumps. The work was great quality and the price was unbeatable.

Called Highland tree on Monday Aug 22, 2011 for a price on removal of a spruce and 2 other trees along with grinding. Left a message on their voicemail since no one answered. a day and half later I got a phone call from someone named Annette who asked about the work. I asked that they come by to see the job and give me a estimate. She said not a problem since I only live a mile and a half (1.5 miles) from where they park there equipment, and they would come out on the 23rd to give me a price but I asked them to call first. Great I thought... Then the days went by, 23rd, then the 24th, 25th, then I get a call in the morning of the 26th by someone named mike, who said he wants to come out and give me a estimate. I said great but I won't be home till after 4pm, he said he want to do it around 5pm. Great,, I thought again... Well I get a call from mike at 6:47pm who left me a message on my voice mail that he cant make it till the Saturday the 27th.. I called him back and told him, Just for get it.. If you park your equipment 1.5 miles from a job to give a estimate and put the person off repeatedly for 6 days , you pretty much lost the job and wont be creditable enough to show up on time of need to do the work.. By the way 6 other companies all called the same day ALL SHOWED up ON TIME and they were much farther away. I would NOT recommend this company.

I got a couple of prices and they were a lot less than the other people. They had to go on the neighbor's driveway and set up the crane. They took the upper half of the tree and put it on the sidewalks. They did the same thing to the bottom. They cleaned everything up. Then the tree service guy said that he would call his stump guy and I got a call about a day or later from the stump guy. Then he came out and ground the stump off, which was part of the deal. We had to get permission from our neighbor. The tree service guy knew what he was doing. They shredded most of the tree with the shredder that they were carrying with them. They took off the big pieces. They were in and out. They swept up and they didn't leave a crumb behind. I think the price was $425 plus tax. I got them off of Angie's List. I was chasing the tree service guy a little bit to get him to communicate, but it turned out that he had a problem with his cell phone.

It went perfectly well from the initial contact to the completed job.

everything went great except that i asked Mike to leave behind the wood from the trees so i could rent a splitter and make firewood. The wood from the 50ft+ maple tree he did not leave and my guess is given its quality he took and sold to some sort of lumber mill. When i returned home from work and saw the small pile of wood that was left, i was pretty disappointed, especially considering I knew how large the trees were that were being taken down. When I questioned Mike, he explained to me that they typically don't leave the larger pieces for the customer. I was not made aware of that and have hired other tree service companies in the past who have left me all of the wood from my property. If my assumption is correct that the wood from this large tree was sold to some sort of lumber mill I would have liked to either split the money from that sale or something with the service and have that amount reduced from my bill. I never did confront Mike about my assumption though.

I will use them again. I spent around $2000 on that service. I liked everything about them. I think after they gave me an estimate they could have come sooner because they took a little while, otherwise that was okay. I felt that their pricing was reasonable and the clean up was great.

They were very reasonable. I have used them before. They are very professional and did a very good clean up job. They chopped up the wood we wanted to save and took away everything else. They were good. I rate them high overall.
