The experience working with Jim Majoras was great. He was very patient with all of my questions concerning his methods, the technical specs and measurements of the fencing material, changes made to the layout, etc. This was the first time we had ever hired a contractor to do anything at our home. Jim was a great first contractor. Jim managed all of the permit details with our city, and stayed in communication during the entire process. Jim always quickly responded to my emails and phone calls. The price of the fence and installation was not the cheapest quote we received, nor was it the most expensive. Jims knowledge of the material that he used was top notch. He was able to answer all my questions, and had a sample of material used that was thicker, sturdier, and better built than the other contractor/vendors that I interviewed. You get what you pay for. His crew was on time and professional during the entire installation. And let me tell you the digging of the post holes was no small task. Due to the extensive amount of rock, boulders, shale, etc underneath the first few inches of grass and dirt, the installation crew went from using a two man gas powered auger, then an electric jack hammer, to finally using a pneumatic jack hammer being needed to tear through all of the rock to meet the post hole depth. And per Jims installation methods, his hole depth was even a few inches deeper than the city required code depth. Even given the hole digging difficulty, Jims crew did not short the hole depths. The crew always kept my backyard looking good as they worked, managing the dirt and rocks from the holes in well placed manner. If the holes werent enough of a hassle, Jim and his crew also very professionally and kindly managed our crazy old lady neighbor who was not pleased that her new neighbors were putting up a fence in their backyard after having 35+ years of the previous home owner not having a fence. Jim and his crew dealt with our neighbors constant questioning, eagle eyes watching every move, and even calling the city inspector to complain. Professional all the way!! Even though the job took much longer to complete due to the slow process of post hole digging and neighbor caused delays, Jim and his crew never wavered, nor ever fathomed changing the provided quote for product and labor, even though I know they had to shift other installation schedules around to finish mine. It has been 3-years since the fence installation was completed. And with all of the rain, snow, and severe winds that our neighborhood has gotten, the fence is still as straight, plum, and true as it was the day they finished installing it. And it cleans up just as well as Jim said it was. Even the runaway lawnmower black tire marks clean off with soap and water. We still get compliments on how nice the fence looks. It provides us the privacy and safety that we needed, and looks like it has been there forever.
