Duraclean has been cleaning carpet, upholstery, loose rugs and oriental rugs since 1975. All technicians are trained and tested by both the IICRC and Duraclean International. In home carpet cleaning is charged by the sq.ft. so you only pay for what we actually clean. In addition, our technicians DO NOT work on commission so there is no high-pressure sales. There is no extra charge for travel, furniture moving and pre-spotting. Pick-up and delivery service is also available for rugs. We have also been providing restorative cleaning and mitigation services after such disasters as water damage and/or smoke damage for over 20 years. Again, all technicians are experienced as well as trained and tested by both the IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) as well as Duraclean International. We called several companies, they were the first ones to show up, and they had the equipment to do it.
In contacting Allstate insurance they referred Duraclean to us to do the water damage clean up and restorations. The phone call to Duraclean was made around 8pm on January 8th. There was no direct answer so a detailed voice message was left for them to contact us ASAP.
On January 9th after no word back by noon a second call and second message was left. Later that day (Jan 9) Allstate sent an inspector out and the home was deemed a catastrophic claim. The occupants would be displaced due to the extent of the damages and advised to get water restoration company in as quickly as possible. By 6pm and no further word from Duraclean (thanks to Angie's list) we shopped for another water restoration company and contacted ServPro. ServPro sent out people to address the issues the very next morning. January10th contracts with ServPro were signed.
In the time span that we contacted Duraclean (Jan 8) and they finally called back (Jan 11th) ServPro had gutted all 8 rooms down to the studs, hauled out all the debris and damaged items. They also had set up dehumidifying equipment and fans for circulation. In addition to having the bulk of the work started they had the future dates set up to get back in assess dry out and start restoration and rebuild.
To say we were seriously disappointed in Duraclean's professional attitude and business management (or lack of) is an understatement.
It was advised to Allstate to stop recommending a company that can not even return a phone call within 24-48 hours of a catastrophe when they are in the business to assess and take on such repair for damages and collect payments from a large company such as Allstate. The advice and information was recorded for future reference.
I would not (and have not) recommended Duraclean for restoration since...

Two of the fans were not working properly.
One made a lot of noise and the other one kept
tripping my breaker. I unplugged them, but they
did not replace them.
Both young men were professional and prepared. They told me how long they would be, and I left to run some errands. I returned to find them putting their tools into their van, and they stated they were finished. The time estimate for completion of the job was exactly right. I would never hesitate to recommend them to any one who has had the experience I had had with the water, or to have their carpet professionally cleaned.
It is nice to know there are companies out there with integretity and know how to service the public. Yes, I would have the again, if needed!!!
No service was performed because they canceled on me twice for a pretty easy carpet clean. First time the appointment was set I was called to reschedule because she overbooked the appointment. Ok, so I made another appointment. She called me on Monday afternoon to tell me that my appointment scheduled for Tuesday morning at 8:30 had to be rescheduled because they had to take care of people that the storm affected.
Ok...I understand that those people needed help but the storm was a week ago and I made the appointment two weeks ago and you call me less than 24 hours before you are suppose to be here to tell me you, essentially, would rather get the big dollars instead of my little dollars??? Help them yes, but you should have called way before. I took the day off.
I then ask to speak to the person in charge and she said his name was Todd but Todd wasn't there. Todd also owns this franchise. I asked for his voicemail and she said he doesn't have a voicemail. I said I didn't believe that but ok, she took a message and guess what..Todd never called me back.
Unprofessional doesn't even describe this guy and his business practices. I have 1) never been called to reschedule because they overbooked and 2) never been called back AGAIN to reschedule because of a weather related issue.
Todd, if you don't want to do carpet cleaning and rather get your money some other way like in restoration, you should get out of the carpet cleaning business. And because you only want the bigger dollar jobs, I suspect you probably do a half assed job on those to just to get the most dough possible out of each job. Unbelievable.
