We love the new bathroom layout and love having a walk-in shower. The half bath and laundry room were updated. When the job was finished, the construction manager, Frank, told us they would call us in 1 yr to see if we had any concerns and if we were pleased with the quality of the work. We began to observe numerous problems with the work. We had 1 upside down outlet, irregular tile in the shower, wall paint that stopped 1" below the ceiling, cabinets without shelves or drawers, a shower head not fastened to the wall and and uneven molding. They never called us as promised and we didn’t realize that at the time as I was in a rehab facility in Florida. I wrote to them several times after my return, detailing the problems. They sent a representative to look at the work on Feb 13. He observed the problems, made notes as to the repairs necessary and took pictures. They never called to schedule the work. I sent 2 emails inquiring as to why the work had not been scheduled and received no reply. After several emails and phone calls, a 2nd representative came to the house on May 9 and documented the numerous concerns. His comments to us included, "this tile job (shower) looks like ****" and "this is the worst paint touch up job (laundry room) I have ever seen". He attempted to repair the upside down outlet in the master bath, but when we tried to use it later, it sunk into the wall. We had to hire an electrician to repair it as we could not wait to have a functional outlet in the master bath. The electrician said the box was not fastened correctly to the stud. He repaired it the best way possible, but it is still a little loose. The construction representative was going to schedule the repairs, but has never called to do so.

Provider was at my home on time.  Accomplished everything on my list that could be done.  A few things were not able to be done due to prohibitive costs or additional work that would have needed to be done which we chose not to do at the time.  Price was excellent because we had a coupon for 2 hours of work.  He did the work with a pleasant attitude and did not make us feel like we were not important because the jobs were small.  Handyman services are a great resource when you're older and have no one to help.  Really appreciate this type of service.

West did a project for me awhile back. I told them I would be contacting them for smaller work around the house later in the year. Just as before the quality of work was impeccable, the staff was super friendly, and they communicated with me everyday about what was going on (even though it was a three day project). When I have future projects come up, they will be the first one I call. Thanks guys!

The entire remodeling process was great. Mike explained how the entire process worked from start to finish on his first visit. Myia (one of the designers) helped us with all of our selections and was there for us anytime we had questions. The installers were very pleasant and down to earth guys. They did a nice clean up everyday. Our project manager was always in contact with us letting us know what was going on with our job. They said it would take about 10 weeks to do the entire project, and they finished right on schedule. Overall we are extremely happy with our new kitchen. The design and final product came out exactly how we wanted it to and it was installed with very minimal problems. When problems did arise, they were right on it. I'll definitely use them again in the future.

I called Mike West in the morning. I expected to schedule an appointment as it was not an emergency. Mike arranged to have someone stop by within a few hours. Two hours later a service representative come by and fixed the leak. The total experience was fast, professional, and reasonable. I only have total praise for Mike West and his crew. I already have Mike's company scheduled for an upcoming rehab. Again, great job.

Followed the proposed schedule to exact specification.  Builder uses Dropbox and all documents and schedule are online and updated regularly.  Constant daily communication with our project manager Dennis.  Tim Miller our head carpenter was amazing and kept his entire crew focused.  A rain/wind storm hit unexpectedly when our roof was ripped open and tarped.  We started to take on some water.  We called Tim and within minutes the crew was on site, up on the roof during a driving wind and rain storm and secured a second tarp and stopped the water from doing any damage. Worked longer hours when needed to make sure the project stayed on schedule.  The job site was extremely clean.  During the demo and framing phase we were able to go upstairs and use our master bedroom and there was zero evidence that our roof was ripped off and they were building two rooms on the other side of the hall way door.  It wasn’t until the new doorway had to be cut into our hall way that we noticed construction work on the inside of the home.  We had looked at other contractors including Dover whom we used for our master bed room project a few years ago.  I would highly recommend looking at West.  Our only regret was we didn’t use them for our master bedroom project.

I contacted West Construction based on the information on Angie?s

list. It may have been better to just use the yellow pages. We interviewed a

number of contractors and received 5 quotes. West Construction?s quote included

a 9? x 4? walk-in closet.  As no other

quotes included this feature we accepted West?s. We signed the contract and

waited for a start date.

As requested by West we contacted Dennis, their rep, so see

if there had been an update to start. Each time Dennis said no and that he

would contact us on Friday if they were starting the project on Monday. No word

so we went out of town on the week-end knowing we had another week to finish

packing the 2 rooms. Surprise ,Monday morning and in walks our sales man and

the head of our construction to start tearing down the walls. As I scrambled to

get things packed I called my partner to help. Both of us ended up taking 1/2; days

from work. When I asked my salesman about this he said, well things do fall

through the cracks,..,.What??

Next started the issue of the 4 ' x 9' walk-in closet. Turns out there

was no room for one, our salesman based things on the outside measurements of

the house. Strange way to do that. Bottom line no closet, a true bait and

switch!. I contacted reps of West Construction about this and for some weeks I

got the run around. Finally Mike West came to my house with his assistant

Dennis. I took Mike West upstairs and the first thing he told me was that I

needed a new roof. In to the en suite and the small now 33" x almost 8'; closet. I had

a set of drawings and a tape measure. When I started to refer to the drawings

Mike West tapped them hard enough that they almost fell to the floor. Mike West

then said, measurements really don't mean anything; a good thing that everyone considering

Mike West and West Construction should know. Then Mike West turned the corner,

looked at the vanity area and told me that he really hates the placement of our

sink. Wow, that is customer service. We returned to the conversation of the

closet Dennis, Mike West's assistant asked how we could reconcile the closet issue.

I said that we could try to knock down a wall and add footage to the house but

that was obviously not possible. Mike West suggested that they would install a

custom closet to make the best use of the space, he even took measurements. This was a concession but still a disappointment. II emailed Mike West and Denise and confirmed

what we all agree to at the meeting. Mike West emailed back confirming the

solution. But 48 hours later Mike West emailed stating that he meant they would

install anything that I purchased. HHMMMM that is part of the contact with West

Construction, they install what we purchase.

We are in week 13 of the 4-6 week project. We have gone

weeks at a time having no one in our home. This week is one of them. I planned

on waiting to the completion of our project before writing a review, but I can

no longer wait knowing it is possible West Construction will cheat others.

Ps, due to length I did not give all the issues we have been

dealing with. I also left email transcripts out, I am willing to share written

documentation as requested.

They were very good with communication and very professional.  Also, very easy to work with in regards to preferences and adjustments to the overall projects as they went along.  i.e. We wanted windows in the new garage which had not been originally planned, and it was no problem.

Overall the experience was very good.  The people I dealt with from start to finish were very friendly, polite, and helpful.  Mike came out to do our quote.  Within a week he sent us our quote along with a layout that he thought would best fit the needs of our space.
From there we made a stop at West's showroom on the west side to pick out the materials that we wanted to go with; tile, toilet, granite, etc.  After materials were selected we signed our contract and scheduled the work with them.
About three weeks later our carpenter/job lead Scott was on site to start work.  Scott was great throughout the whole project.  Communication was always good and his focus was to make sure everything got done to our liking.  There were a few minor snags that were encountered along the way, but Scott always kept us informed of any issues and we were able to resolve all the issues encountered.  Work completion was about what they quoted (3 weeks) and the final product was terrific!  Thanks Scott and West Construction.  Job well done!

They are prompt and courteous and they honor the warranty. I used them for handyman service at the beginning of April and I paid $95. They repaired the roof in the end of March and there was no charge for it because it was under warranty. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

Everything wend great..they even caught a slight miss-measurement by Lowes, which would have caused 1 window to not fit..they dealt with my handyman for most of the process, but I talked with Mike regarding installation..I had to reschudule one time and he was very accommodating..day of original install the installer had a problem with his truck and we had to reschudule for Saturday, which worked out better for me as I was able to personally be at the job site that day. The installers impressed me enough that I gave them each a tip.

The experience was very good overall.  Mike West and his brother are very good at their work.  They started work earlier than expected (despite the rainy season) and kept to the schedule even with several days of rain.  There were only two negative points to the experience.  The last day was a bit rushed for them.  Three men on the crew each took a turn walking the perimeter to clean up the debris.  Even with this care there were still nails and shingle chips to clean up, particularly under the dumpster which was picked up after the crew left.  Their work was very good, but with the next rain storm there was a very serious leak in the home.  The crew was back first thing the next morning to analyze the problem.  The weak link in the chain was the chimney - the only thing not repaired.  They wrapped the chimney in plastic which kept the home dry until we could get a mason to caulk and reseal the mortar.  We've been dry ever since.

After he did such a good job I recommended him to the condo board.  I'm very happy with his work.  He's prompt, on time, clean and honest.  His guys are clean and honest.  They do an excellent, thorough job.  They came and did the lobby of our building.  He came back and did a free repair on my closet because there were some difficulties with it.  The board was extremely happy with him, they did our ceiling and his guys came out and did the floor.  They were extremely good at what they did, we will probably be using them from now on for anything that has to do with remodeling, floors, ceiling, fixtures, etc. They removed everything and rewired.  They will probably come back and do our ceilings on every floor in the building and install lights.  They made sure everything was done properly and I think they laid tile on our floors.  I found him in the phone book, he said he did small jobs and large jobs.  He was very fair and honest, I would definitely recommend him.  You name it, they do it and they do a great job.  We called other people for bids and they never called back, Mike called back immediately.  They came on time and left on time, there were no problems with them at all.  I'm thinking about referring them to another friend of mine who has property.

This is the ONLY contractor (of 5 we contacted) who responded timely and provided written, crisp understandable contract proposal.

Mike West and his crew were wonderful.  They were polite, clean, and respectful.  Helpful and cheerful, too.  The work

was the same: prompt, thorough, efficient, accurate, reliable.  The workers on site were quick to keep us informed of what they were doing.  Mike called every afternoon to fill us in on what had been done that day and what was planned for the next day.

We are completely satisfied and appreciative of both the workmanship and the style of business demonstrated by these men.

I spent about $1200 on the job. They came out when required; they came out in the evening after work to repair the roof. The tarp on the roof had come off owing to wind damage. I was very pleased with their quick response. They were prompt, courteous, and reasonably priced. I will use this company in the future.

I would like to highly recommend West Construction, LLC for your construction needs. I recently purchased a single family residence at a tax sale. I knew going into this project that extensive remodeling would be required. I contacted several contractors for estimates and conducted a review of their past history. Based on my due diligence, I selected West Construction. It was the best decision I ever made. Not only did they save time and money, they guided me through the pitfalls of a rehab project. Yes, we had some unexpected surprises, but these were mitigated through expert advice and project management planning. Their work, craftsmanship, and attention to detail truly reflect well on the owner Mike West and his team. Again, I highly recommend West Construction.

Overall the experience was frustrating. The more we got into the project the more, it seems, their capabilities were overstated. They did not seem to want to deviate from their initial plan and were very inflexible when listening to our concerns about the initial layout. Also, some of the subcontractors that they used were unreliable. We were charged an "expediting" fee for logistical matters and ??? yet the project ran a month plus over budget and we were not compensated for that. Also, "expediting" seemed to be that we go to the store and select a fixture (or whatever), call the owner to have his guy go to the store the next day and buy it (at the same price we could have) and then mark it up by their percentage. We were told the floor would be made level in the new room (as the existing house had shifted and they did not want to make a crooked floor), however once we moved in we noticed the furniture was sloped and that the floor was indeed not level. When we told the owner he said that we could shim the furniture, but that was all they could do. The floor in the shower was set unevenly and water pooled in certain areas, causing them to come back out and redo it. However, now the water pools in a different area. They ripped up some flooring in a different room to install duct work, however they ripped up the wrong area, causing a hole in the flooring. Because the flooring was old, they could not find a replacement and were forced to take a section from another area that was hidden from plain sight. The painting sub-contractor didn't show up for several days in a row, with no one (not even the owner) knowing where he was. The glass sub-contractor needed a three-week lead time to order and install the glass for the shower, yet the project was done, other wise. So we had a nearly completed bathroom (except for the shower) that we couldn't use because the "expediting" didn't happen properly. Lastly, there was an interaction dealing with money that really broke our trust. They job was almost complete (or so I thought) and they asked to more money. I said I only wanted to write one more check to them that was all encompassing and was final. That couldn't happen because the guys needed to get paid, he was overdue on one of the invoices and they needed to get reimbursed for some incidentals. So I paid the invoice. A week or so later, the owner was joking with me and one of the guys on the job where he indicated that he still needed to pay the overdue notice! All in all it was very frustrating.
