I went into O'bleness with a failing gallbladder. I had to have the proper testing done to show my employers why I had to miss work from all the pain. I had the scan completed that shows the capacity in which the gallbladder is working. That would tell me weather I needed it removed or not. When I set up and got the needed referral from my family doctor, I brought in the proper paper work to O'bleness to have the test done. They set up the appointment, then informed me they needed a "special solution" for the testing, which they had to order. It took over a week for it to come in. All the while I was in terrible pain and missing work because I needed this test done. I lost 36 pounds in two weeks because it was so painful to eat anything. Finally once the special "ingredients" they needed were in. Which I had to call them about. I went in for the test. The gentlemen that did the test was very kind and friendly and I had no problem. The test took two hours to perform, but I figured it would all be worth it in the end. Then I had to wait over another week for them to fax the information to my personal Doctor. Then I had to schedule another appointment with my Doctor to get the results. My doctor sat and looked over the paper work and on the front of my pages it stated in hand writing my results were normal. Then he went onto read the results himself and found how abnormal they really were. It said a normal gallbladder runs at 35% capacity and mine was only working at 17%. Showing a serious problem was there. Though they had wrote I was fine and cleared me in having good health. My doctor set me up with a surgeon and I had it removed and have healed. Why is this so irritating beside the obvious screw up? Because I had already been in the O'bleness ER three times earlier the prior month for the same pains and they sent me home saying my liver maybe inflamed and did no real testing on me. Blood work, a few X rays and some pain pills. Wouldn't even just the thought of having an inflamed liver given cause for a more detailed look? They would have found the problem much more early on. How does a hospital over look such clear results? A bad one does. I spent so much time wrapped up in there paper work and going in circles and lost wages! I missed three weeks of work. Then there was three weeks of recovery time. Point being. O'bleness Memorial Hospital is a band aid station and a joke. The ER reaches the expectations of a fly. They are always under staffed, the Doctors make little to know time to really assess any issues, unless you have a cold and they can get you in, out and billed. If you are in a real emergency and need life threatening help, O'bleness can't even help you. They have you sent by squad or helicopter some place else. They don't even have the means to treat people properly in serious situations. It is obvious this facility is outdated and in need of even just the smallest of repairs. You have a cold, fine. Your wait is usually a minimum three hours wait before you even get to see a Doctor. Then a Doctor is in and out in just a few minutes. You mostly just sit and wait and if your in pain from an injury you still wait just as long as everyone else. If you have means to find someplace else more professional. I suggest you do so and fast!
Description of Work: Went in for several ER visits and a Gall bladder scan. Only a few out of many times I have been there, they were bad in one way or another. Weather it be accuracy, staff and treatment.
