We are the largest heating and cooling dealer in southeastern Ohio. Proudly serving Athens and Lancaster and other amazing communities. Specializing in furnaces, air conditioners, fireplaces, gas and wood stoves, geothermal, and generators. We've been your choice for excellent service since 1977. Many heating and cooling companies in Athens and Lancaster Ohio are owned and operated by one man. Though he may have a few helpers to help him install new systems, the servicing of broken down furnaces and air conditioners falls on his shoulders. You can imagine that in the heat of the summer and the coldest days of winter this would be a burden on him. We here at David White Services have 6 experienced, full time dedicated service technicians. That is in addition to our 12 installation technicians.

We pay them an annual maintenance fee of $300. They came out once during the winter when the heat pump was not working and added some coolant. This time a spider had gotten into one of the electrical contacts which prevented electrical power from getting to the compressor. The electrical contactor was replaced at no charge. The HVAC technicians are all friendly and professional.

We are an older couple in a much-older home. Their annual maintenance program seemed a little expensive when we first signed on but has proven worth every dollar. If we have a problem, they're here. (Since we have been with them, we have had very few problems!)
Communication was an issue at several points in the process. Even before the deal was finalized, the salesperson was difficult to contact and somewhat unresponsive.
The second system was installed while we were at work. Upon returning home we found the job nearly complete but one vent was not installed at the location called for in the plan and no vent grates were supplied. A bill for the entire amount (less down payment) was discovered sitting on top of the air handler. The bill's terms were Net 10 days. I didn't want to pay until the job was finished and I was leaving for vacation in a couple of days. Getting in touch with someone who could answer my questions about the job was difficult. Once I was able to speak to the installation coordinator, my questions were answered satisfactorily and the job was finished in good time.
The vent grate location had been moved because the installers recognized that the planned location would expose ductwork to weather. This was fine with me but didn't jibe with the salesperson's claim that proper vent placement was an exact science not to be left to lower-priced competing HVAC technicians.
