Exceptional customer service. Very quick and responsive, and when we had an issue, took care of it immediately at no charge. Price was excellent for the asbestos wrapping job. Highly recommend them

The workers were friendly. But I was very disappointed in the job. When the workers were done. They had left hundreds of nails. That retain the asbestos tile. Pull half way out but still in. I asked the workers and boss would they remove them. They said were done, the job was according to code. The vinyl siding worker refused to remove the nail. His contractor said he contact Residential asbestos. they were coming back to pull the nails. When I check that night. In three different place it was the worse. They had pound them back in those useless nail, that had been half way out. Again what I asked for twice and contractor once. I had asbestos tile remove before. The workers removed the nails, and I did not have to ask, its part of their job.
Response from Residential Asbestos Removal Inc
"Ms. [Member Name Removed], I am very surprised to see this post since the work was completed a month ago. We worked very closely with the other contractor and when we were notified there was a problem with existing nails we came out and removed them. I'm not sure who you spoke with on the site at the time, but it was rectified when were notified and we received no additional concerns from the contractor replacing your siding. Regarding nails that were pounded back in would have been nails unable to be removed due to age of the home and various other circumstances, which I spoke to you about. I apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused. I do see you put you would use us again, and I hope you do. Sincerely, Tom Joseph, Pres."

I am 100% satisfied with the work done by Mr. Koelewyn and his team. It was a costly project, but one that must be done right to avoid any risk of asbestos exposure. They know their business and do it well.

The process went well. The quote was provided in a timely manner. To the best of my knowledge, the asbestos removal and insulation addition went well. The post removal check indicated levels (not sure what the appropriate word is) in the normal range and that there was not residual asbestos. The new insulation on the pipes looks good.
The company was easy to work with. I believe the price was reasonable. A comment from one individual (who is generally in house repairs, but not asbestos removal) was that it seemed low. The other quote I received was for $2000 to just remove the asbestos. My interactions with the owner made me feel more confident working with this company even if I was paying a little more.
Overall it was a good experience working with this company.

They told me that after they removed the tile, I could work with the tile company. They did a very nice job. They were very competent and they were just super. They did quality work and they were absolutely fantastic. I would recommend them. I was very happy that they did that. They were very good and very efficient. They worked very well with the person who was going to replace the tile with new tile. They were totally professional. They came and they did what they said they were going to do. They sent me a report on the result of the clean-up. They coordinated their clean-up with the replacement of the tile, which was very helpful. Everything got done within half a week. It's a miracle what they did. They fixed little things that they didn't need to fix. They fixed things to tidy up the room and make it look nice. They didn't really need to do that but they did. That was so helpful for me. They just went above and beyond. I felt safe working with them. I would use them again in the future, but I hope to God that I never have to use them.

Dale quoted the job based on length and diameter of duct that I gave him. Workers arrived on time the following Monday and were very professional. The job took approximately 5 hours including having to sledge hammer the old cast iron furnace into pieces to remove it. The workers did a great job cleaning up. I received the lab report stating that the tested level of asbestos after the abatement was well below the legal level and also received a copy of the manifest proving that the asbestos was dropped off at a official facility. I am extremely satisfied by the work and the overall experience. I would have no problem recommending or using them again.

Dale from Residential Asbestos Removal was one of three companies that came to the house to give an estimate on the work. My sister was here when he came and she was very impressed by his professionalism and honesty. Dale quoted a low end price if the tile came up easily and the removal could be completed in one day, and a high end price if it took longer. It took one full day and part of the next morning to complete. The first day, everything movable was moved out onto the patio as there was no room elsewhere in the house to put it. The room entrances were sealed in plastic and the cabinets and dishwasher were also completely covered. A negative pressure enclosure system was set up with a HEPA filtration device. Then two workers pried up the multiple layers of floor. Because the work had to go into a second day, Dale had everything out on the patio completely covered with plastic so the dew wouldn't get on it. The second day, one worker returned to remove the many large, deep staples that had been put through the asbestos tiles along with bits of the asbestos tile stuck under them remaining from the removal process. The price was between the high and the low quotes. The workers were very nice and worked extremely hard both days. Dale told us that we will receive a certificate saying that the house is now asbestos free.

The company had to reschedule its initial appointment because a previous job took longer than expected but was flexible in working around our schedule to find a new day. On the day of the work, they arrived promptly and worked very efficiently. Dale was on-site at the beginning of the job to confirm that his workers knew what to do. It only took about 5 1/2 hours, and they cleaned up thoroughly at the end. The work looks clean and professional.

It was a good experience. They were prompt and responsive. The gentleman came out, looked at what needed to be done, and told us it wouldn't be an issue, that the workers would be out right away. They were able to come out and take care of the problem. He explained more about the asbestos, which allowed me to relax a bit.

Residential Asbestos Removal, Inc. was recommended by Verne & Ellsworth Hann, who were going to install our new furnace. Because Hann, Inc. had found ducts that were wrapped in asbestos, and then painted over, there had to be coordination between the three companies that were doing the work. First, the asbestos-covered ducts had to be removed by EPA standards, then the no-longer connected vertical ducts had to be cleaned, and finally a new furnace installed, and ducts connected between it and the vertical ducts. Dale Koelewyn from Residential Asbestos Removal came two days after day he was called, to give an estimate. He told me about the complete process that the basement would undergo, and assured me there would be no residual dirt or asbestos dust anywhere in the house when his crew was done. I sent a letter the week before the work was scheduled, repeating all we had talked about, and told him I would mark all the registers and cold air returns, so that the crew could easily locate them. We had to be out of the house for several days while the asbestos was being removed, the ducts cleaned, and the old furnace was replaced with a more efficient one. On our return, I spoke with Dale, asking how the job went. He replied that there had been no unforeseen problems, and that they removed the ducts with no difficulty. The new furnace is purring along, and the upstairs rooms are warm. I can't help thinking that the removal of the toxic substance and the clean, new ducts will also lead to better health for our family, which has been plagued with colds and chest problems this year.

Because we were putting in a whole new heating & cooling system, we had all the ducting removed including that which was asbestos insulated, even though it wasn't in bad shape. They had everything thoroughly covered and were very clean. We paid $50 less than the invoice and I don't remember why.

The workers came promptly and set to work quickly. While myself and the wife were upstairs, I noticed that the workers had laid out new fiber-glass installation for the basement pipes. I quickly halted their work and told them that it was encapsulation and not removal we had asked for. The mix-up was due to us getting two quotes for both encapsulation and removal, and them mistaking what we wanted. They re-insulated the pipes they had removed the asbestos from for free. They asked us to leave the house for the up-stair's job, and we asked them to call us when they had about 45 minutes left in the job. They did and were already done when we reached the house. Overall, they were very professional and handled the mix-up in work responsibly. The encapsulation looks great.

I called over the weekend and left a message; on Monday I received a call back. I told Dale that I'd rather just have them come and remove the asbestos rather than getting an estimate and another day to remove it. We need a new boiler and did not want to wait any more than needed. Dale called me back 2 days later and told me they could be at my house by 11 AM. They were on time and friendly. The job was done in less than one hour and it cost less than I expected.

They did a really good job. They completed a lot quicker than they thought. They gave me an estimate of $840 and I received the bill for $880 but they did adjust it for me. I think they were very reasonably priced. I thought it was a good value.
