I was kind of disappointed in them. They came out and did work in three bathrooms. I had told them I wanted electric outlets where there were none and that did not happen. They did not go above and beyond. If they saw something that needed to be replaced they did not even point it out. The workmanship was good for what they did. They did not have an in house decorator at the time of work. Above the medicine cabinet they put in a gold light fixture and I wanted silver. They told me once they made it in that color it would be replaced but that never has happened to this point.

I was very pleased with the work done by Fraley and Fox. The project took about 3 months from start to finish, which was what they'd estimated. Gary, Mike, and Andy were extremely polite, friendly, and professional. I work from a home office, and my two kids were on summer break, so we were underfoot the whole time they were working. Before they left each day they were careful to clean up their tools and sweep up their dust, and my kids never once heard a cuss word from any of them. They did a beautiful job laying the wood floors and installing and finishing the trim so that it blends with the original trim elsewhere in the house. They also suggested some changes to the remodeling plan that saved us a little money and made for a better layout. The subcontracters were mixed - floor finishers were great, drywall & electric was fine, plumber not so hot. But when there was an issue I could call Dave and he'd work to get it resolved as soon as possible. Overall, we were very pleased, and are enjoying the new addition enormously.

We signed the contract in June 2007, they didn't begin until maybe August. The exterior tile drain work was very good. Digging the old up laying stone, taring the walls, etc. Then they began on the inside. Their focus got poorer as they continued. They had no regard for our home. When they cut through the cement block walls in the basement they didn't put up any plastic at the top or bottom of the basement stairs, cement dust throughout the house for weeks. When they poured the concrete patio, which they originally told us would be last, the roofers were still working outside and throwing cords back and forth. We ended up with a gouge in the concrete. The workers denied it at first. The electrician that they subcontracted was no better. They had light sockets off center, ran new wiring that was twisted and even have a switch that goes to nothing. I wanted the ceiling fan functions, light & fan split, they didn't do it. When they first started they showed up timely, then disappeared for days at a time with no communication. The bubble tub was not installed properly, they never checked it out before finishing the bathroom. We had to have Kohler out to replace the motor. The toilets were not set up properly, and medicine cabinets not properly aligned. The list could go on and on. We should have stopped the work when my neighbor saw one of the workers relieving himself on the side of our house. Our fault in trusting and limiting my choice to a local contractor. We even gave him a payment early trying to be the 'nice' customer. We never had a final walk through with them as we just wanted them out of our home. We ended up getting other people to finish some of the work, months later.
Response from Fraley & Fox Construction Inc
"Contract signed on June 11, 2009- Project start August 8, 2009. We have the upmost respect for our client's homes, and we are usually commended by our clients for the fantastic job our crews do cleaning up the jobsite. In construction, it is unrealistic to expect to have no dust in the jobsite. We were made aware of the gouge in the concrete and offered various options to the client to fix it, but received no decision or response as to what they would like us to do. Our employee that caused the gouge, admitted to the accident. The electrician that was subcontracted was the very same electrician that was contracted by the homeowner that performed work on this same clients home independently previous to our project starting. As for our attendance on the job, in many construction projects there are "down days"- when items such as drywall mud have to dry, or tile has to set, etc. There are days where work cannot be performed. The client also added work to the project already in progress after the contract, and we had to schedule that additional work in, while still maintaining the other contracted jobs (and clients) within our company, not to mention order and receive the material needed to perform the additional tasks requested by the client. We were also asked not to come to the jobsite multiple times, because the client was suffering from an illness, and the noise of construction agitated him. He apologized multiple times for random outbursts of anger and temper, he even sent flowers to the office once to apologize for misdirecting his anger at our staff. Communication with the client became very difficult because of the instability of his temper. The bathtub was installed correctly per the installation manual provided by Kohler. It wasn't until the plumbing was completed that we found out that the tub contained a defective switch. This particular tub was specified by the client- brand and style. Fraley & Fox doesn't typically install Kohler tubs, we prefer the Jacuzzi brand and display them in our showroom. Once the problem with the tub was found, we immediately contacted Kohler for service and troubleshooting and provided them with the Client's contact info to schedule and appointment to take care of the tub. The toilets are factory pre-set, and medicine cabinets were hung level. As for the employee that relieved himself next to the house, we were not notified that this happened, if we had been that worker would have received disciplinary action. We prepared paperwork for the final walk through, and began to work on the final punch list, when the client stopped all communication with us. The original contract stated that certain items within the project were to be completed by "others" at the clients request, so having other people finish up the project was intended from the beginning. We were not given the opportunity to address any items at the end of the project, and we never received final payment per the contract on this job."
