Everything looks great!
We purchased two trees and had them plant. Of total cost, labor was $335. They gave us flags and we marked where we wanted them installed and they took it from there. Service included digging holes, placing trees, back filling and mulching. They showed up on scheduled and completed the work.
We solicited 3 landscapers for design and bids. While the design Bob provided wasn't as 'slick' as the other presentations, it was much more appropriate for our home. Our home is a 75 yrs old cottage and the other designs were too modern and too crowded. Bard's design allowed for plant growth over time.
Doug and his crew were very professional, friendly and flexible. Over the 3 day installation, we made modifications that required additional work and additional plantings and materials. Not once, was I made to feel they were being 'put out' for the changes I asked for.
The drainage issue is gone.
All our neighbors have deliberately stopped to tell us how much they like it
We are delighted with the final product and I will use them again in the future.
We hired Bard's Landscaping after seeing their work at a neighbor's property. We made initial contact at the Cincinnati Home and Garden Show and subsequently called for a free design consultation. Bob Bard came to our home and discussed our need to update the landscaping for our older home. Bob, in addition to being very professional, was very good at listening. Bob provided us with an estimate broken into several jobs that we could pick and choose from to suit our budget. To keep within the budget he offered several options including the option for us to do much of the initial tear out.
The actual time that Bard took to landscape took just one day. The crew was courteous and worked hard to complete the job. They were responsive to our questions and when we were not satisfied with a section, a quick call to Bob Bard brought an immediate response. He called the crew and photos were sent of the section in question. Bob took it upon himself to add some plants to the layout and personally deliver to the site.
I would recommend Bard's to anyone.
Not only professional but also genuinely nice people. Have done work
for many of our neighbors and we have all had a great experience.
The day they started the project, stage one was basically ripping out 90% of everything that was already there. The past owner had not maintained the landscaping for a while it seemed, and a lot of areas had gotten out of control and seemed irreclaimable. It was a totally mutual understanding and decision to basically start from scratch. Bard's planted a variety of shrubs, perennials, and trees around the house in the front and the back, along with the grassy area in the circle drive. He also laid rock around half of the driveway circle because of a rain and drainage issue we were having. New grass was planted in areas where they shortened over-sized flower beds. Pine straw was thrown in areas under trees where it was best served. Bob put in a fantastic short stepping stone walkway to one of our exterior laundry room doors through one of the beds. Bard's provided all materials (pinestraw, topsoil, compost, herbicide, plant material, etc). Everything turned out great. The whole project took about 3 days as planned.
If anything was not rated an A+, I guess it would be the 12 annuals that were planted in the front circle drive. They put down verbena and petunia's which are best for hanging baskets. They were pretty thinned out and I actually called Bob and mentioned it. He said give them a little time to fill in and if we were not happy that he would come back out and replace them. It was the middle of the month long heat wave in the area, and temperatures were consistently over 100 degrees so I can't blame it all on the annuals! The only other con would be that the quote took longer than originally stated to get to us. In the end, neither of these things have any impact on the phenomenal job that was done by Bob and his team.
Just a side-note, I have a Bachelor's degree in Plant Biology from Miami University-Oxford and Bard's plant material quality is very above average compared to the other companies I have dealt and worked with over the years. If that means anything to anybody.
