inferior installation of asphalt seal coating in September of 2012.
Sable promised several times in 2013 to inspect the coating, most of which had been worn away Sable never showed up as promised.
I again contacted Sable in Spring of 2014 and was finally able to have a sales person come out. He agreed that
there should be a reinstall at no charge. At this time I also contracted for additional repairs in the amount of $750. I called
several times to get a installation date and told I was first on the list for Spring installation. Sable never called to schedule a date
through the Spring and Summer of 2014.
I called to cancel my $750 work order in September of 2014 and folled that with an Email but never received a return call or confirmation from Sable.

I spent about $3000 on that service. I thought that they did everything well. There was just one minor thing and that was they did not get a permit to replace the apron because we have to get a permit in our town to replace it.

Sable performed the work in a timely manner and did a very nice job of filling and resealing driveway.

Our driveway was in pretty bad shape. But because we were about to put it up for sale, we didn't want to spend a lot and completely redo the whole thing. Sable performed the job in a fairly timely manner. However, after only about 8 months. we had grass/weeds growing in the very cracks that Sable filled. When I called the company to find out why this was happening, Sable was extremely slow to call back and address the situation. In fact, I had to call them 4-5 times over a 2 week period to get anywhere. I finally got thru and they connected me to Rick. Rick basically said, too bad. Now, I can understand that nothing lasts forever, but less than a year?? It appears to me that the cracks weren't properly sealed in the first place. Weeds can be stubborn, but if the cracks were properly treated and filled, I highly doubt we would have had this problem. Rick offered to come over and put weed killer on them. That was his only solution and I declined as that is something we could easily do ourselves. I shared my disappointment with the quality and lack of longevity on Sable's work. Rick said "well, they're your weeds..." Well, it was Sable's crack filler and workmanship that failed. He ultimately hung up on me in an unprovoked situation. I said I was disappointed and was hoping for a better solution and one that would last. Click. Quite unprofessional. I had hoped my call would have yielded a more professional response and a solution that suited us both. Not the case.
Response from SABLE ASPHALT
"The member's need to re-read their contract. Sable Asphalt doesn't guarantee cracks, crack fillers and especially weeds from growing in the driveway. This claim and expectation for a contractor to come back 8months later and weed the sides as well as the driveway itself, are un-warranted. I would request that they have their landscaper perform this function if they both are unable to perform this task in the evenings when returning from work. Heck, that's what I do. I also mow my own lawn."

Sable Asphalt Maintenance paved an 18,000+ square foot driveway plus parking areas for me. Months before Sable did the whole driveway for me they had done some patch work. I was impressed with the patch work and decided to have them do the whole the complete driveway over for me. I regret that decision because the finished project did not meet my expectations and actually looks bad with multiple flaws. Also, when the job was completed, the crew left the job site without informing me or giving me a chance to inspect the work which might have allowed me to possibly point out the following issues to the job forman. There are many roller grooves throughout the job, the drive has puddle areas (low and uneven areas) throughout; this is upsetting because it is a downsloping drive which provides drainage to pond and a lake. The side walls of the drive are very crooked and are higher in many area than in the middle surface of the drive contributing to water retention. When the puddles freeze in the winter the result is a bigger mess causing vehicles to slide off of the drive and making it difficult to plow. Finally, it is very you can see every time a new load of asphalt was delivered because there is a difference in the height of the machine that spreads the asphalt and stretching of the material is noted. Sable attempted to fix the sides by adding top soil, seed and straw that I paid for (they did provide the labor) instead of simply using a saw to correct the issue. I was so disgusted with the work that I disputed the second payment of $8,000 to my Visa credit card company which has been credited back to me (I have not disputed my original $6,000 payment because I feel Sable is due these funds for, at the least, the material). Sable was not happy with the credit card dispute and says that I should have purchased a performance bond. From what I have learned, it is common practice for the service provider to purchase performance bonds and not the consumers. I have had several paving companies out here to look at the work and they have both pointed out imperfections and presented common steps the company could have taken to prevent the unsightly outcomes. To date Sable has made no further attempts to contact me directly regarding this matter, they have only been communicating with Visa and Visa has still not charged me the $8,000 again.
Response from SABLE ASPHALT
"I met with the member and SableServices Inc. agreed to repair 3 areas that were a concern for him. Sable Asphalt then sealcoated his driveway per the original contract. He evaluated the work with the onsite foreman and paid Sable Asphalt the $2500.00 balance from the original contact. I followed up with him the same day and he said " It looks good". We believe we have resolved this dispute. Richard Hasebbein-President"

They did an excellent job. People from a major asphalt company working on an adjacent street were impressed by Sable's equipment and professionalism. The only problem was the long time between estimate and performance of the work.

They did a great job. The thing that really impressed me was how informative they were when they were out for the estimate. They were professional and did a nice, neat job. I would recommend them.

Contractor came to make bid two days after I called, then the bid with contract was mailed to me. Also included was a copy of state certification and info about the product used. The bid was $175, before coupon. I called the office to ask how to charge the bill, was told that I could mail in the signed contract with the furnished form for charging to credit card and the charge would be put through only after my call that everything was satisfactory. After the forms were received at the office, I was called to schedule the job which, for mutual convenience, was set for three days later. The crew of four arrived on time, cleaned the driveway, filled the cracks, very carefully squeegeed the material around a drain and fully out to the edges, put up a string with ribbons across the entrance and left without fanfare. Previous years I had used Tallmadge Asphalt, but the last time they used a spray which was applied so thinly that I could see through it for about 15% of the area. Only out of curiosity, this year I asked them for a bid, which was $250!! Now all I see for the driveway is smooth blackness.

From my OKing the work to the job day was a few months because of some other work done to my house. Rick Hasebein the president came early to go over boundaries and work procedures. I thought more of the existing concrete would be removed. He said the original contract did not have it removed to keep costs down and I agreed to it. They did the work as planned in one day. I am still concerned how long the asphalt will last over existing concrete. Rick assured me it would be ok. The levelness is good except in the seam area where the parking area meets the driveway. Cleanup was just ok. I had to spend about 1/2 hour picking up stones and clumps in the yard so I could mow. Rick said he would have the foreman leave me the soil excavated in a pile along the other side of the yard and a scoop of soil to fill in along the neighbor's border. No soil was left. The crew said I needed to seal the new drive with in a month. Rick said I should wait till next summer.
