He didn't tell me how much up front. He got lost several times, and charged me 60 bucks. Highway robbery for 2 min worth of work. 60 to unlock 1 door.

I called on Wednesday 2/25/15 and the phone was answered by a real voice which is always a plus for me! Jim was able to come out the next day to complete the work requested. He called that morning to confirm and to ensure he had the correct location. He was punctual, professional and completed the work to my liking. I would highly recommend this company and would use them again in the future!

He was on time and worked quickly. It was overall a good experience. He called me back when I called. He came when he said he was going to come and he seemed fair as far as the price.

Responded very quickly, a big plus as it was very cold. Had the door open in and two keys made in about five minutes. Was courteous and pleasant. I have no qualms about recommending his services.

Jim showed up the same day I called for service. In addition to replacing the doorknob, he made 4 keys for me. He was prompt, finished in a short amount of time, and the cost was reasonable. I would call him again in a heartbeat.

I was totally locked out of my new house (it's a long story)---no keys, no garage door opener, no nuthin'! (Fortunately, I hadn't finished moving and could stay at my old place until I could get the lock work done because Jim doesn't do emergency calls.) I called Jim's office to make an appointment and Jill, who does the scheduling, tried to work me in but couldn't due to other jobs taking longer than expected. She told me that they would be open only three days that week due to the Thansgiving holiday. Since they're located close to my place and have an A rating I called back the following Monday and got an appointment for the next day. During the scheduling process, Jill gave me an estimate for the work I described to her but she made it clear that the price could change depending on what really needed to be done as opposed to what I thought needed to be done, but that it would be in the ballpark. (She said this much more nicely than I was able to word it just now. It made sense and I wasn't offended.) I was disappointed, though, that the senior citizen discount that was part of Jim's info on Angie's List was no longer in effect. Jill told me that they haven't raised their prices in a long time and that they had to discontinue the discount due to the economy; she told me that she would have the discount info removed from their listing. (She has done so.) Jill called me the morning of the appointment to tell me when to expect Jim, who was finishing up a job at Hale Farm and would be able to meet me at the time we had scheduled. Jim arrived on time for our appointment and introduced himself. That's another reason I decided to do business with this company: there are no subs. The owner himself shows up and does the work. Jim was quiet but friendly, and he didn't laugh at my predicament---thank goodness, because I sure felt like an idiot. He jimmied open my front doorknob and deadbolt, rekeyed them, and rekeyed three other doors (six more locks) so they now all open with the same key. While he was working, Jim willingly answered my questions about what he was doing and why (although I did try not to bother him too much). He even showed me what the tumblers look like inside one of my locks. I appreciated his patience and his willingness to explain things to me because I like to learn how things work, and my dad is no longer around to teach me. I checked all my new locks and keys before Jim left, and he adjusted one lock that wasn't working as smoothly for me as it had for him when he checked it. As Jim was getting ready to leave, he noticed a loose hinge on my front door. He went back to his truck, got a screwdriver, and tightened the hinge so that the door now opens and closes properly. What a nice extra touch! Jim got the work done in a little over an hour and he left no mess of any kind. The cost was about $15 over what I was expecting---not bad. The only reason that I rated him a B for price is that the senior discount is no longer in effect, but he may rate an A in that area---I really don't know how his prices compare because I didn't call anyone else. I would definitely recommend Jim and I will use him again. Update 12/10/10: I related my experience to a friend in our area who has had locksmith work done by someone else, and she assured me that Jim's prices are very reasonable.

Excellent response and the pricing was the best of the estimates I received. I had a lock that froze on the inside. Jim came in a replaced the whole unit, was not messy, and completed the job in a timely manner. I will certainly use him again in the near future.

Jim's Locksmith was able to come out within hours of us calling to change the locks in the new home we purchased. I thought the price of $82.59 seemed a bit high for this job, but was very happy with their promptness and quality of their work.

Went great. Jim showed up on time, completed work quickly and efficiently. We plan on using him again to put a digital keypad deadbolt here in the near future. Way more cost efficient and 10x less hassle than switching the locks yourself!

Lock was changed and Jim came back the following week to change the handles as he didn't have the right ones on the first call - he didn't no service charge for the second call, only for the handles.

They arrived on time as scheduled. They were very polite and courteous. They were also efficient and took less than 45 minutes. They determined the locks could be repaired and did not need to be replaced. They charged only for the service call.

THE COMPANY RETURNED MY CALLS PROMPTLY AND WAS ABLE TO SCHEDULE THE WORK ON THE EXACT DAY I WANTED (I GAVE ABOUT A WEEK'S NOTICE). HE ARRIVED ON TIME, WAS QUICK AND THE LOCKS WORK JUST FINE. HIS ESTIMATE WAS ABOUT 30 PERCENT CHEAPER THAN A COUPLE OF OTHER COMPANIES I CALLED, AND HIS FINAL BILL WAS ALMOST EXACTLY WHAT HE ESTIMATED BY PHONE. I'D RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE.
