JACE Tree Service

I inquired about a tree removal from several companies through your site. They ranged from 1450 to 2600 with the average price being 2000. John with Jace Tree Service gave me the cheapest price and assured me he could do the job. He scheduled me for 6/22/24. Around 9:45am on 6/22/24 Lexy with Jace Tree Service knocks on my door to greet me. She lets me know that they were here and ready to get started and never stated there was any issues. I went down to my basement unit to work on some work emails. At noon, Lexy knocks at my door again showing me that they have knocked down a telephone phone. She kept insisting that we call Ohio Edison instead of her calling 911 to get the livewire that was causing a fire to my tree in my front yard. Finally she called 911, while I went inside to find my electric account number to report the wires down. The entire time this was taking place Lexy was trying to have us do everything in terms of handling this emergency that we obviously had no experience in. I feel that as a professional, you should know what to do in case of emergencies and act on those. Once the fire department and Ohio Edison come to fix the safety issues, the couple got back to work. We were without power this entire time. They continued to work and we had to order pizza and get drinks and since we had no way to use our kitchen. While we re eating Lexy calls for me, and tells me that they are all done. I go to check out the work and I see the tree stump is way larger than agreed and there are huge logs in the middle of the street blocking the road. I tell her that we can t leave it like that. She tells me they are too heavy and the only way way they could move it was if my family helped them move it. I asked her why they couldn t cut it smaller and she said it would break their saws. I go around asking the guys around my house an nobody wanted to help or though it was fair since I was paying them to complete a job. My dad helped me approach this situation by talking to the couple. Lexy become irate after my dad said that we weren t paying if the job isnt done. She escalated the situation causing everyone to become agitated. Lexy eventually pulls out a chainsaw trying to attack my dad. We got my parent and grandma out the house and Lexy called the cops as they were leaving claiming my dad was in her face threatening to slap her. Cops came and did their best to calm her down and they eventually finished the job and got paid $1450 and left. As they were packing up to leave we realized that they came with a van and car and two chainsaws. They borrowed a ladder and gas from my neighbors. They caused siding and electric boxes to come down from one neighbor and lawn damage to another.

Very Disappointed!!! John was very polite and friendly; however, he did not fulfill the requirements! He did not give me a copy of the contract I signed, and he changed the price originally quoted. He did cut down two small trees, but he did not haul them away. He said he would return later to do so. I waited for over two months and finally had to hire someone else to haul everything away

Both John and Lexi were wonderful and were very accommodating. They did a good job . My shrubs look so much better. Thank you!
