The owner's son came to our home to do the estimate. He was happy to listen to my concerns with our existing roof and garage addition. A couple days later, we received the estimate via email. The estimate for roof tear-off and replacement was marginally higher than the other estimates we had received but Haralson's workmanship warranty was much longer. In addition, they agreed to do our demolition for about $1200 more. After signing the contract, a couple weeks passed. We got a call asking if we'd be available for the job following day. Fortunately, that did work for us and the crew arrived the following morning, as scheduled. Shortly after, a dumpster was delivered by a different company. They did some tear off work and put down the underlayment before it started raining, then came back a couple hours later and worked for an hour before it started raining again. They returned the following day and finished the job. In addition to a nicely installed roof, the domolition part of the project turned out well. The crew did some repairs to rotted wood on the inside and added some lumber to help cover up the newly opened side of the garage. We were told they don't usually do demolition, but it was a relatively straightforward project. The people in the crew were polite and professional, and we are happy with the finished project. Haralson's accepts credit card payments, which is a selling point for us. However, there is a processing fee so we decided to go with a check payment this time. Everything went smoothly. We would definitely use Haralson again.

Mr. Haralson came promptly and understood exactly what the problem was and how to fix it.  He was very patient and understanding and took the time to make sure I understood exactly what was going to be done and how much it would cost.  Haralsons renewed my faith in  roofing and gutter contractors and the did an excellent job.  The installers were very polite and respectful and cleaned up after themselves.  The house looks beautiful and I get all excited when it rains and nothing leaks!

We were having problems with water between the roof and gutters because the old roof had been cut too short. We were told we didn't actually need a new roof, but there was no other way to fix the problem. Got estimates from several providers; we were very impressed with the professionalism of Harralson's estimate process. We received a detailed estimate in the mail from them. No hard sell!! Their price was middle of the range of the estimates we received. After we selected them, Crystal came to our house with samples and we spent time talking about the process of the job and looking at the samples up next to the house. She was very friendly and answered all of our questions. There was a delay in the job starting but once they started the job was completed in approximately 5 days. In the tear off, the roofers found rotted wood, which they replaced (which added to the estimate). We had some questions at the end, including about clean-up, and Gary came back at our request and took care of the last details. We are extremely satisfied with the results! Not only does the roof look great, but we have no more water problems (including water in our basement which we didn't know was related to the roof).

Roofing is expensive, and I didn't know anything about it. I did some research -- much more than necessary. I kept reading because I found it interesting.
Choosing a contractor was much more difficult than learning about roofing. I think I interviewed nine. My problems with them included use of inferior materials or techniques, a contract that relieved the contractor from bearing responsibility for his work, and an attempt to defraud my homeowner's insurance carrier One roofer was great except for the fact that they cost $4,000 to $6,000 more than any other.
Haralson showed up on time, on the dot. Work continued uninterrupted until it was complete. The workers were polite. They were trained, in part, by Certainteed, enabling Haralson to sell me Certainteed's most comprehensive warranty. I have found that Certainteed is serious about that warranty, so I have confidence in Haralson's competence.
Haralson usually works in Akron. I am in Medina, and Haralson became a registered contractor here just to work on my roof.
Without my asking for one, Haralson sent me a Waiver of Lien document.
Haralson's contract was just right: simple and complete.
Installation was complicated by my request for ridge vents and edge vents. The materials I chose were better than standard quality.
Haralson's price was fair and reasonable.
The roof looks beautiful.
The knowledge I acquired ensured that I bought exactly what I needed. My research led me to a fine, professional roofer. I think that a strong indicator of quality is that fact that father and son have their name on their work. If I had it to do all over again, I would keep my life simple and easy by calling Haralson.
Update, 11/27/13
Had a concern today, called Haralson about noon. Not 30 minutes later Gary Haralson was here. He answered my questions and resolved my concern. I am more than satisfied.

Eric arrived promptly and looked at the roof, gave me two options for repairing the roof. His estimated looked reasonable, which I accepted. I requested that the roof get repaired sooner than later, because I wanted to stop the flow of water to the second floor apartment. He came the following week after we had that 4-6 inch snow and repaired the roof before the snow melted. When the snow started melting, I became concern about leak. No leaks! I am happy. So much so I asked him to maintenance our other building's rooftop.

As you can see, this review is much overdue since our new roof was installed in 2010. Everything, from the estimate to scheduling, was handled professionally. Gary's (Haralson) wife even helped us to select a shingle, which is beautiful! They also corrected a previous contractor's installation of a ventilation fan from the bathroom into the attic.... Yikes! Great cleanup which was important because of my labrador retriever.

I got quotes for a roof tear-off and replacement with 30 year dimensional shingles from 3 different companies in November 2010, including Haralson Roofing. One company's estimate was almost 25% lower than the other 2, which was not a good thing in my opinion and they just seemed shady overall. The estimates from Haralson and the third company were within a couple hundred dollars of each other, so not much of a price difference. The first thing I liked about Haralson's was that they seemed confident in their work and weren't trying to "sell" me - they answered my questions thoroughly but I didn't feel like I was getting a sales pitch about their company or their other services the entire time like I did with the other companies. It's a local, family run business and I met most of the family over the course of the process. They lent me sample boards so that I could take them home and see the product against my house.

I signed a contract with Haralson Roofing in December 2010, but by that time the weather was getting bad so the roof didn't get installed until Spring. Once March/April rolled around, they started calling me regularly to give me schedule updates and let me know when they could start working. It was a very rainy spring so the roof work didn't get started until early May, but they regularly updated me while we all waited for the rain to stop. It took them about a day and a half from start to finish and I was happy throughout the process. They cleaned up at the end of the first day and once they were finished, I did not see any damage to the deck or any surrounding landscaping. They used color matching trim pieces and vent stacks, so the whole thing had a nice seamless look. They also used 6 nails per shingle instead of 4 since my house is in a wind corridor.

It's been about 5 months and I have not had any problems with the roof. I'm very happy with it and would definitely recommend Haralson Roofing and use them for future work.

He did a very good job for very little money. He was very prompt and professional. Everything was clean. The quality was good, but I think time will tell. I will hire him again in the future if necessary.

They quoted about $10,000. They were very thorough with their quote. They were authorized installers for one of the shingle brands. They quoted a premium price. It was the same shingles I was looking for but they quoted extra warranty and a number of things. I did not think it was worth it. They were very thorough and very professional and but the price was too much for my taste. They came out and gave me the quote promptly. It was a good competent quote. As far as the quoting process was concerned, they did as good as they could do. They had a different pay structure than their competitors. They were very responsive. I might not need another roof in 30 years. When I need one, I will not hesitate to get a quote. I ended up finding a competent roofer who was significantly less expensive.

We were very impressed with Mr. Haralson's knowledge of his trade and years of experience. He was the only roofing contractor that offered us 6 nails per shingle; This was to increase wind resistance per the manufacture's specifications. The roofing crew was headed by Mr. Haralson's son who also had years of experience; All were very professional and polite. They spent a lot of time with clean-up. and provided us with the extended warranty at no additional cost to us. We are very please with the work that was done.
