"Thank you for your review and i appreciate your honesty. It may seem like a large repair bill for an hours worth of work. We are flat rate for our service department, so the price quoted is the price paid, regardless of how long the repair may take. Had it taken longer or had we run into other problems with the repair, the price would not change. With that said, in addition to the the sight glass, we also replaced the boiler drain on the unit as well, which was included in that price. They did an excellent job on all of the work and were very courteous even though the miscommunication between employee and ownership resulted in some poor customer service.

With this being a repair, the diagnostic would not usually be credited, which is why you received the response you did when you called in to schedule. If we see signs of possible equipment failure, we absolutely bring it up to our customers, but in a way that will allow them to make an informed decision. Service contracts do lengthen the life of HVAC equipment. It doesn't always prevent a failure, but by testing the equipment on an annual basis we can often catch a failing part before your air conditioner/furnace goes out. We needed a new heating/AC system. We live in an area that until recently had no gas line so have been using an electric heat pump system. We wanted to switch to gas but, after consulting the gas company and for reasons that have to do with the difficulty/cost of bringing the line into our house we chose the electric system. Echols helped us through this. They did not try to oversell us (which another company did). They were extremely efficient and did everything very carefully. The system has now been through a tough winter and we are very pleased with the result.

They installed a 96% efficiency two stage furnace and a Infinity two stage central air conditioner with a infinity thermostat.
My wife was home during the install on a very hot day. By the time I got home the entire house was already cool.
Carrier isn't cheap, but the quality of the superior equipment more than makes up for the premium price.
I would highly recommend Echols heating and cooling

We did respond to your service request, arrived when scheduled, and diagnosed a failed inducer motor on your furnace. We quoted the repair, however, we did not have the part on our truck and it was not in stock at our local supplier, so a separate trip would have been required. You elected not to have us get the part and indicated you would call if that changed. As for contacting a local contractor, our tech was just being honest with you for future service. We're located in Akron, OH and your property is outside of our service area. The Angie's List big deal is not supposed to be advertised to customers outside of our market, but since you had purchased it we elected to run the service call for you. This has been corrected with Angie's List and should not be a problem for customers in the future. Again, I'm sorry for the bad experience."
