Exceeded my expectations! Dan even solved the drainage problem that my old driveway was having. I also like his design for the front steps to my front door. The LED lighting that was added to the steps is a great touch.

We are very impressed with Dan and his vision. Although difficult for us to visualize before the work was started, Dan offered recommendations on color and style for the walk and stone walls during the process, His knowledge, creativity, and experience were invaluable. Once started, the crew was at our home every day (weather permitting) until job was done. Yard was cleaned up as much as possible every evening, and every one of the crew was polite, knowledgeable, professional and helpful. Very pleased with the outcome and the decision to go with Dan.

Dan showed up quickly after contact to give an estimate. Heather was very helpful later with questions and information. The work was done 5 months after estimate, which was expected. Dan is on site for all work, so it is definitely worth the wait. Work was done quickly and thoroughly. A previous contractor had replaced the porch cap which led to water seeping into the basement. Guardo Contracting inspected the pump room below the porch and made the structural changes needed for support and water flow. Dan provided advice on the front porch decorative concrete color and style. Since he is the expert and I am not, I followed his suggestions and the result is perfect. Clean up was thorough.

After one rescheduled appt due to him being out of town then received an email a week or so later that my estimate was canceled - Due to being booked up for summer/spring. Glad they communicated it to to me but seemed like a waste of time waiting that long only to have it canceled

He was booked until late in the year. Didn't think we could get it done before the weather turned bad. Liked his directness and thoroughness. I would consider him for future work.

The service was great. The workers came and did their job. What stood out the most is that they completed it when they said they were going to. They could not have done anything differently.

I was giving many delayed start dates caused by weather and others issues such as to finish larger jobs under contract. After more than 8 weeks of delays, I ended up hiring another contractor who was able to complete the job satisfactorily within 2 weeks from signing a contract. During the extended delay period I did have Dan come back out to confirm the scope of the job. This was because after a few phone conversations with office staff I did not think that we were on the same page as to the scope of the job. Dan attempted to place all of the delays on my desire to change the scope of the job, when I made not one change in my original design. Dan did offer to canacel the contract and refund the deposit.

They did an excellent job. I highly recommend this company!

Gave all info of contract work we wanted to get done. Promised an email within a week but got it after 2 weeks. I tried to respond via email about changing the quote and additional questions. This took another few weeks. I can understand to an extent since Dan did mention he was very busy however it seems if you don't commit right away they don't care? My assumption could be definitely wrong about them but they're not very responsive to quotes. I still am waiting for a missing quote but we're about 2 months out since they came to my house and have not received a complete quote after 3 attempts to call the office and 2-3 attempts to email Dan. Again they seem genuine however I won't be doing with them this go around since I have nothing from them

Dan did a great job, from planning to completion. He knocked out walls, raised the bearing beam on two areas, wisely suggested moving the fridge, adding a clever dray wall alcove and a corner pantry with a light that goes on when you open the door. This added up to a complete new kitchen and bar area transitioning to adjacent living area.

Dan was very punctual and professional. He demonstrated great knowledge of the industry and the job. I haven't gone through with it yet but that is because of projects that I am dealing with. I would use Dan when the time comes.

We hired Dan Guardo Contracting to construct a230square foot dormer addition and remodel the existing second floor space of our 1929 bungalow. From the bidding process to the final walkthrough Dan was very candid and adroit. Throughout the process, Dan was in constant communication with us ? giving us status updates, offering suggestions and making sure that we were comfortable with the process. Dan was also quick to address issues ? one of which was the surprise that the wall cavity we had planned to use for ductwork was filled with construction debris from the 1950s. He was able to quickly assess the problem and let us know how this hiccup would affect both the budget and timeline. The workers were all professional and courteous - and very aware that there were children in the house! We have had other projects done where workers were constantly without shirts or using inappropriate language - we never had that problem with Dan's crew. They were very polite and they worked hard. I appreciated Dan?s insight in making suggestions regarding our architectural plans ? he made several careful suggestions about adding or moving elements (like lighting, contrasting tile on the shower bench and the type of shower door to order). I have a hard time visualizing several construction changes and Dan was happy to sketch or physically walk up the stairs with me and measure, mark up walls, do whatever it took to help me understand the project. He was also an advocate to make sure that we were getting the best price for our materials and subcontracted work. We are extremely happy with the final product. Our second floor is a sanctuary (especially the beautiful bathroom) and Dan?s attention to detail shows. I wholeheartedly recommend him!

Asked for estimate to concrete driveway. I wanted to have conduits run under the drive and to have wire in it to keep it from cracking. He wanted to use fiber chop. It appears he priced it high enough to deter using him.

Always takes longer than expected especially on a big job like this one. Changes always are requested. Job started in early November, finished on December 30, 2014. Replanting of front yard will have to wait till Spring. Original bid was $29,500. Final cost was $36,654. We added several projects to original job, and we feel the additional charges and time frame were fair. We were impressed with Dan for what he was willing to do. He was the only contractor, even among the contractors your website recommended, who would take on our garage floor and driveway lowering project. He owns a similar house with a similarly steep drive and it was evident he took a personal interest in our job because he planned to do the same for himself. His crew were timely, polite, competent. His work yard is located at the north edge of Akron, and that made for quick and frequent oversight at our address, only a couple of miles away. We would recommend him for any concrete or foundation work, and for any of the followup carpentry and electrical work needed. Dan worked for a major commercial firm before starting his own business, and has experience rebuilding foundations for some of the older landmark buildings on the Kent State campus.

Came once to look at the job but never contacted us again. We were very disappointed with him.

I am a recently new home owner and had a dated kitchen (1950's) Shopped different contractors to find the best quote for the job. Dan's proposal beat out the other contractors by far. He came out and met multiple times before the start of the project and was very organized. He was very flexible with my schedule (as I work in the evenings). He introduced me to his workers that would be helping him on the kitchen before they even started. His employees displayed professionalism throughout the duration of the project and constantly kept me updated and informed on the progress of the renovation. Dan was easy to get in touch with at all times of the day and addressed any issues himself personally. He was not always there himself but inspected his employees work at the end of each stage of the project. He made valueable suggestions on areas of construction and renovation that I am not familiar with and let me make the ultimate decision instead of just doing as he saw fit. He finished the project in a timely manner and the final bill was not a penny more than his original proposal. He is hardworking and passionate about his business and I would recommend him and his employees to anyone I know.

Their work was good, however, there was little miscommunication on length the of the concrete and how far out the roof should come. There ended up being and added cost of $1800 above what I intended. But, overall, I would say I’m happy with them. It looks beautiful right now.

The owner, Dan Guardo came out for the estimate w/in a few days of request. We actually got 3 different estimates from him as we were unsure how much we could afford to do. He was very understanding in regards to this. They did have to move our job back a week but that's mother nature for you as their work is dependent upon weather conditions. All in all, it took approx. 6-7 days to complete entire job. Everyone that I came in contact with was very nice and very professional in their work. There was one guy who over saw the work and was one of our contacts to let us know what was going on and where they were with the job and also for any questions as the work progressed. The owner, Dan Guardo, stopped over several times during the job to check on his team also. We are happy to see our garage not tilted anymore d/t crumbling foundation and the driveway looks great!!

The best words to describe my experience are professional and customer oriented. Not only does Dan demonstrate a thorough knowledge of concrete but also true passion for servicing his customers. He treats your job like he was doing it for his own home.

It was the only quote I got and I had him do the work. I got a couple of estimates on the phone but they would have to come out and take a look. I never had them come out because they were all around $2,000 above what Dan was quoting me. It was a relatively large job for a small house. He was an awesome guy. A friend referred him. He is an honest guy. He is friends with one of my friends. He was definitely trustworthy. He did a fantastic job and I would give him 5 out of 5 stars. He was willing to negotiate the price of the quote down and let me do some of the work such as the trash cleanup on the job site. He was flexible and good to work with. He was a nice guy.

Arrived as scheduled. Well trained, conscience crew. Due to weather delays completion was a week or so later than estimated.

the process was very easy. They even allowed a last minute change to the area to be poured. I would definitely recommend them to anyway looking to add a concrete driveway.

They were here when they said they would be. All of the workers were VERY professional. It got pretty hot while they were working and not one shirt came off. A+ for that. They worked together well. I like to watch what is happening at my house so I was at home for most of the work and I have had other workers to compare them to and there just isn't any comparison. He (Dan) hires quality workers that know their job. And Dan is right there in the middle working right along side of them. The job is beautiful. There was one spot that needed some attention and Dan came out and fixed it.
