I gave them $5,750.00 up front and I never heard from them again. I have a suit pending.
Description of Work: There were supposed to put a metal roof on my house.

Contracted with them to put a new roof on in January. I gave them money up front for the supplies and they have not started the job. They claim that they quoted me the wrong price for the materials and they are asking for an additional 6,500 to put on the roof. I would like my money back for the job because they misquoted the price. They agreed to this but now I can't get a hold of them. I believe they are avoiding me.
Description of Work: Contracted with them to put on a steel roof.

Response from AMERICAN CONSTRUCTION ENTERPRISES
Members claim is incorrect. I sent him a letter stating that the supplier had misquoted the material for the project. The original quote was for an inferior product and I would not place that material on the customers home. I did tell him that there would be an increase of the original contract in the amount of $ 3225.00 which was the exact difference in the material price quote from the supplier. I was not going to inflate the price for any profit on the company end. He said that he would not be in a position to proceed at that point. I was willing to do this job at absolute cost. I called the supplier back and explained the situation to them. They agreed to work out something with me whereas I could complete the job at the agreed upon contract price. However, I did need the customer to pay $3900 of the remaining balance so I could get the material ordered from the supplier. At that time, the customer said he was not interested in doing the job. I feel that I kept my end of the deal by getting everything settled as originally discussed. He chose to not have the job completed. I have incurred expensed to prep the job. The fees associated with this project totals $4000 and the customer has paid $5750.00. I have sent a request to my accountant to refund the customer the difference of $1750.00 Darrell Hartman-President/CEO
