ACCLAIM FENCE & TREE SERVICE

Agreed to his price and gave half down as he asked. He said he would start the following day. Aug. 9th he was supposed to start and agreed to a professional job with him doing all the work. He didn't show till 15th the wife had gone home at lunch to to see if he was there but when she got home on the 15th fence was partially down and he was not around leaving the fence laying around the yard. The next day same thing, she got home rest of fence down but no one around Again, she had to clean up after him since remainder of old fence was laying around the yard. Did not show up again before the 18th. On this day he had began painting and was using different paint than discussed and DID NOT sand but slopped PAINT ON leaving runs and lumps, not painting posts to the ground. He said it was fine and not to worry it was only a fence. Wife told him to stop and wait till I got home because I would not approve. I am out of town frequently so it was the weekend before I got home. I called him told him if he wasn't going to do it right I would paint rails and posts, then deduct from his invoice my time and supplies. He could finish installing fence. I had to hire help to clean up his mess, sand and repaint with the proper paint. I called him back to finish. By now it was the 28th and he called me back and said he had not bought fence when he got down payment and had to order and wanted me to pay more for an alleged heavier gauge. I was frustrated and just wanted a simple job that turned into a joke. Finally on the 29th he shows at 3:00 pm to install fence. He complained the whole time he did not figure job right and needed more money. And that he had to dig a trench along one side to get the fence in instead of doing it right from the beginning. I tired of his complaining and dug the trench myself. It was now 9/2 almost a month later when he returned to finally finish still complaining about wanting more money. He did not arrive till almost two and complained about a tree root in the way. I was notching root to allow fence around. I had to leave for appt. when I got home fence was still not finished and after calling him he expected me to finish. The wife got home from work and called him. She was not nice, told him to get here she didn't care the next day was holiday. He was to get done with fence and list she left for him to complete. I was home the day he arrived to finish, after he thought he was finished he then asked for more money again handing me an adjusted bill for more then we owed. I told him when wife got home and looked at completed job that was suppose to take week which took a month we would send him a adjust payment. Before I could send him payment I had to go out of town. When I returned home a court notice was waiting at post office, he was suing for the balance including the extras we did not feel we owed. Now how professional is that? Basically I had a contract, expected posts and rails painted, new hardware (he used old hardware with silver bolts) and fence installed. He looked at entire fence BEFORE he started more than once and he decided the costs. He didn't fulfill his commitment. I had to sand, paint, dig trench, trim root, dispose of old fence and clean up after him. He only took old fence down and stood fence up new fence and tied SOME of it to the rails. AND WANTED MORE MONEY.

Bob was prompt, courteous, and diligent through both quoting and service on the fence repair job we had done. It turned out to be more of a replacement than repair, and he handled the changes in scope and requirements fairly and intelligently. A fair price and no unhappy surprises.

Work was done in a timely and professional manner. Bob worked alone on this project and completed the job within the time frame he presented. He was also helpful with suggestions about how to repair other parts of the fence.

BOB HAD PHOTOS OF HIS PAST FENCING WORK TO HELP ME DECIDE ON THE LOOK I WANTED. THE FENCE WENT UP ON TIME AND LOOKS GREAT. IT WAS VERY AFFORDABLE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIS SERVICES TO ANYONE LIVING IN THE AKRON AREA.
