Porter Painting & Drywall

Messed up the whole house.  Very very poor quality.  Poor timeliness.  Didn't cover up household items, many things had to be cleaned up; paint spots all over.  Left gobs of paint all over the floors and much of the house had to be cleaned up.  It will take weeks to clean up the mess they left.  Supervised 12-year-olds could have done a much better job.  Should have sued them to repair damage to floors and clean up globs of excess paint all over where drop-cloths should have been placed.  Totally unprofessional.  Would avoid them at all costs.

Not only did Chris's workmen come on time, they were friendly, hard-working, timely, and cleaned up completely. They arrived the day that we called Chris to paint the ceilings. We had just moved in--needed the paint work done quickly, neatly, and professionally. They met all the requirements. They repaired holes and imperfections, painted four bedrooms, two baths, the kitchen, dining room, living room, family room, halls, and all trim, in addition to all the ceilings, and the basement entryway. They completed the full job within several weeks -- initially painting the primer and one coat in all rooms and then returning to finish the second coats and trimwork once we were all moved in. I needed to have a wall taken down to expand our bedroom -- Chris called a related contractor who appeared the same day, took the wall down within hours, moved the electrical lines, and installed drywall framing to the areas needed and left no debris. Chris's workers painted the bedroom the next day and it looked beautiful. Chris's workers were a little raucous at times, but they were well-mannered, we never needed to complain about them. The clean-up was more than broom clean -- they cleaned up everyday and were quick and neat. Chris is a friendly man, honest, and addresses all concerns thoroughly. I would definitely hire this crew -- they know the area, know their job, and do it well.

Porter painting and drywall are knowledgeable, reasonably priced, neat and quiet when working , and meet time lines set in advance . It was a beautiful experience.

Everything turned out well. He did an excellent job and I would recommend him.

I had to get all the supplies, using their list, because they "don't do that".. They trampled valuable plants, even after I repeatedly asked them to be careful. They also dripped paint on very expensive laquered Baldwin Brass light fixtures, on the ornamental concrete driveway and on valuable foundation plants. I did not notice this at the time, and by the time I did, the paint was dry and could not be removed. (The paint remover...they insisted on oil-based paints...would have removed the finish on the brass. It didn't work on the concrete.) They also broke an expensive self-reeling hose reel, saying it was "like that", which I know isn't true, because i used it the morning they came. They overpainted white trim areas, then told ME how to remove the mess!
