It was excellence, great job and they clean afterwards. I'm very happy.

I tried calling a half a dozen different companies, and Ken Young Paving was the most responsive.   I had an estimate within two days of calling.  Once I accepted it, they made an appointment to come and tear out the old driveway, and were there exactly as promised.   The next day another team arrived, again right on time, and laid down the new asphalt driveway.  The work was excellent, and quite a few neighbors and friends have already commented on how much nicer the entire home looks as a result.

The job went well overall. After I told them to go ahead with the job, I didn't hear from them for almost a month, so I called them back to ask when they would be performing the work. I was told Ken would call me soon to let me know and he called me the next day. They arrived when they said they would and Ken kept me updated whenever something changed due to weather. He communicated very well. They completed the work that was agreed upon and a man named Larry on their crew was very helpful working out details on the job.
The only area that needs improvement was calling 811 before they began digging. I made it a point to ask when I told them they had the job if they needed me to call before they came, but he said no they would take care of everything. The day came when they were digging and found the water shut off buried under the ground, it was bent slightly in the process. The crew told me that I should call the water department to tell them about it. I didn't think this was right, but I did it in order to get it taken care of as quick as possible. When the water department arrived they were not happy that they were never notified and I explained that I had confirmed that the paving company was taking care of it. The water department was able to straighten the shut off.

I talked to him and he always answers any questions. He is also very punctual. They did a very great job.

Ken Young was responsive and easy to do business with from start to finish. They returned our calls promptly, provided a fair estimate quickly, told us when they would likely be able to schedule the job, called to schedule it then, were flexible when their preferred day didn't work for us, arrived promptly, completed the work nicely, answered our questions respectfully. Very highly recommended.

It was a little tough getting a firm written quote. He was busy, but he did my super picky neighbor and I never heard a peep about it. When I thought the price was high (with nothing to really compare it to but what I wanted to spend) he worked with me to find a job and price I could live with.
When job time came, he came on time, they did their work. They were fast. I asked for extra stuff like extending one pad 2' and regrading a mess the plumber left replacing the sewer line. He did both with not complains. When I re-radiused his corners, he just smiled and filled them in.
I was surprised to see Ken do a lot of the ground work himself. He set it up, did the digging and made the lines for the drive. Everything turned real well. Clearly knows his stuff. Doesn't waste time.

I had a bad experience with Ken Young Paving. He finished the driveway, but there were dips in it where puddles would form. Also by my garage it is 21 ft wide, but by the end of the driveway it is 17 ft wide. When I pointed out these errors to him, he became defensive.

Ken Young's Paving did an excellent job. They were careful not to damage the root of an old, big tree. Best of all, after putting crushed stone on, they let it settle for two weeks, which a lot of pavers will not do. Then they added more stone to level the low spots before blacktopping.

Ken Young Paving did an excellent job. They put a blacktop driveway in for me and it turned out really nice. I would use them again.
