 + -1 moreVery well. Matt was busy so we had to wait a day and a half but we were ok with that. He came in, assessed the situation and went right to work. He gave us some great advice on how to keep old cast iron plumbing from clogging up (keep oil, grease, food from going straight down the sink drain in the kitchen and don't use Drano type products; they're harsh and actually cause rust to dislodge from the inner pipes and can make the clog worse. He recommends white vinegar every few weeks.)
Description of Work: The drain in a basement sink was clogged. We were unable to de-clog it ourselves so I went on Angie's List and chose the closest company with the best reviews: Cheap Snake.

They were excellent and would definitely hire them again.
Description of Work: They came to conduct a smoke test on our plumbing system and quickly found a leak under a toilet that wasn't sealed properly. They were very professional and prompt. They also did a main sewer pipe camera inspection and walked me through the results.

 + 0 morei didn't put in an emergency call, but i guess they had time and came out within a few hours of my calling. they pretty much ignored what i told them about where i thought the clog was and went straight to the main trap. obviously they knew what they were doing, they were in and out in 15 minutes. i see other people paid less, but they got it done with no hassle.
Description of Work: snaked from main trap, back into the house. cleared the drainage problem immediately.

Description of Work: Cleared main trap. I used to pay 500.00 to 700.00 dollars each season for pumping out water and adding chemicals. For years I did this. Then I called cheap snake. He went in the crawl space and manually cleaned the trap. No problems for two years. It just needed to be done again so I called them. Everything us moving just fine again.

Description of Work: I had a blocked sewer line, backing water into the house. After I called they came within two hours and tried to snake it out but the blockage was too deep. They then used a high pressure water hose which found the blockage at around 150'.

 + 1 moreSnaked from the same location as the first company, but he tried longer and he SUCCEEDED! He made sure all toilets and sinks could operate without backup. We found an old problem in the master bathroom sink requiring snaking as well so he took care of that. He then gave advice for the future: get a man to jackhammer and opening in our septic in case anyone ever has to snake it from the end he had tried to access. He also advised vinegar and baking soda instead of liquid plumber for future problems, and to buy thinner toilet paper to be on the safe side ( like Scott's) I'll also note he was the only one of 4 different companies to guess correctly where our sewer lines were laid. If we had proceeded with the excavation the men would have been ripping up our steps and sidewalk in the WRONG area, creating even more damage requiring repair! If all the guys at Cheap Snake are as determined to help as Joe then you couldn't call a better company! He arrived at 8:50 AM, for an appt scheduled between 9 and 10 AM. He finished at about 11:15 AM. His boss Andy determined charges of $569, he said this was charging for 3+ hrs of work because Joe had the additional work of snaking the bathroom drain which could have been a separate charge apparently.
Description of Work: Already had a different snake service in who failed to clear problem in sewage line running to septic tank after two separate visits to our house. They advised excavation. Cheap Snake was our last chance at trying again or a second opinion before being forced to excavate our front steps, a stone wall and a bluestone pathway. Joe from Cheap Snake tried harder than anyone who had come out- and there were 3 contractors here bidding on the excavation and giving advice after the first drain cleaning company advised excavation. None of them advised a second opinion or re-attempt at snaking. My husband and I took a chance at seeing whether someone else would try harder and succeed and we are so happy we did!! Joe first dug up entry to septic tank and looked to see if he could run his snake from there, which was impossible. He continued to dig to check if our cement septic tank had another entry point to snake from. It did not. He then tried to use a chisel,mallet and crow bar to create an opening in our cement tank so he could snake it, but it was backbreaking work that really requires a jackhammer. So he returned to the original point of entry for snaking our sewer line- carrying a 100" snake down to our crawl space( something the other guys were not willing to do).

He advised me about possible causes of the problem that may need attention in the future. For now though, everything is working fine. Service was very professional and efficient. Fair price. Note: the and quot;senior discountand quot; advertised on Angie's List appears to be an error. This company did not offer a senior discount.
