From requesting the estimate, to making an appointment for work, the completion of work and follow up on work completed. Macintosh Electric is white glove service all around. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and the owner is hands on. I would only recommend this company for your residential electric needs. This is my second time working with Macintosh. The first time they rewired my entire home and added an electrical panel. So when I needed more work done - they were the only company I trusted to get the job done correctly.

Macintosh Electric came to the rescue after-hours as sparks flew from my outdated electrical box, my house filled with smoke and I was having a panicked meltdown. My local electrical repair service had closed for the day, leaving no emergency number on their recording. I frantically pulled up Angie's List, found Macintosh Electric (available 24-hours) and called. Kay answered my call immediately and Mark arrived at the house within an hour. My outdated electrical box was far beyond repair and he didn't have the equipment to replace it in his truck, plus (as I learned) that job takes quite a few hours. Mark stayed until 8:00 pm that night repairing what he could to give me essential electricity so I could stay in my home until the replacement job could take place the following day. Mark returned to complete the 5-hour replacement job and was followed by Kay (an owner) to check everything and give the final stamp of approval. Besides being professional and experts in their field, both Kay and Mark were incredibly kind and reassuring in a very frightening situation. I highly recommend Macintosh Electric!!! They're my go-to guys from now on!

The electrician did trouble shooting and repaired the outlet socket connection. Good and quick work. It went well. The only thing is, I had to call them to have the receipt emailed.

I had some issues trying to schedule an appointment - I called Monday morning and spoke to someone, we agreed to have someone come on Tuesday and that they would call me later in the day on Monday to confirm a time. Nobody called me back Monday, so I called Tuesday morning, they said they would call back immediately. I was trying to plan if I had to stay home or go to work, so after an hour with no call, I called back and finally got someone scheduled for a few hours later. Barry arrived right at the beginning of the window they gave me, which was refreshing. He immediately got to work trying to troubleshoot the problem. Our house is very old and a lot of wiring work was done haphazardly through the years and didn't make much sense, but Barry took his time and figured out exactly where each line went. The problem ended up being a loose hot wire in a ceiling fixture that was slowly burning away everything around it and was a major fire hazard. He spliced everything back together properly, replaced some of the old unsafe wires, replaced an old GFI receptacle, and made sure everything was working properly. He even fixed a light fixture in another room whose anchors had fallen off the drop ceiling and it was hanging by its wires. All of this took a bit less than 3 hours - it was quite a mess of bad wiring. He didn't make me run up and down the stairs to our basement where the circuit panel was, which was a big help, and carried our latter upstairs and put it back when finished, as he didn't have his latter with him. He did a lot of physical work to make sure this all got fixed properly and I greatly appreciate it. We also discussed some other work I want to have done that wasn't urgent like today's visit was and I hope to use Macintosh again for that work. Despite the hiccups with scheduling, I'm very, very pleased with the work done.

They were excellent. We had three bids from other members and one came in at around $3200 and Macintosh originally was around $4500, but when they equalized their bid he came in at $3200 because we eliminated things he thought we needed or should have. I'm like a project manager so you got to put apples to apples and one would do this but Macintosh did more, so we eliminated what was needed because we're trying to get a certificate for occupancy for this house which was built in 1926. They were very responsive and he came and adjusted his estimate three times and the last time we did it over the phone. He adjusted it and gave me back a very professional written up estimate with no general lump sum.. It was very itemized and adjusted accordingly and the outside outlets were separately itemized and I really liked that because it made it very easy to breakdown the value. The only thing was that he didn't clean up the debris in the basement. There was a lot of basement work and he left wires and he said that wasn't part of the original and I told him that he was right, but he told me that he was going to deal with it and it was like another $60 or $80 to haul it away and if it was up to me I would have gave it to him. We left it and cleaned it up ourselves, but there was no problems with his work. He was ahead of time because I would set up appointments because I had to travel 20 minutes to get to the house and he came when I had a plumber come and they were on top of each other and it happened twice. My wife works for a real estate agent and I told him that we will recommend him to new customers and he said he would come up here and we really appreciated that, so I would definitely use him personally and I would recommend him to other people.
