IDEAL FLOORS

Thomas, Noel, and their crew are the latest incarnation of a company I have been working with on and off for about 15 years now. They are excellent at wood flooring -- refinishing, installation, patching. I've used them in the past for full refinishing and for a screen and poly job as well. In this most recent case, I asked them to deal with a particularly annoying repair at my mother's house: Parquet flooring glued to a concrete slab had been ruined by a plumbing leak and had to be replaced in patches. Complicating the repair was the possibility that the original mastic might contain asbestos. The crew planned to contain the original mastic without stripping it, lay new flooring to match, and then stain the new to match the 50-year-old original floors, all in highly visible areas. The work was done over three days, and the result is a beautifully restored floor that looks so close to the original it's hard to tell where the two meet. These are incredibly nice men, who work hard and do a wonderful job. I wish I had more floors for them to refinish! But in the meantime, I'm just going to recommend them to everyone I know.
