TruGreen Lawn Care - 5521

I signed up for Trugreen mosquito control for 5 treatments during the season. They first came on 5/1/2020. Treatments as stated on their website state last for approximately 30 days. If mosquitos start biting early they come free of charge. they normally come about once a month. Well after many phone calls they finally set me up 7 weeks from my first treatment! Needless to say mosquitos were biting like crazy. My appointment was for 6/24/2020 between 7am-12pm. When they didn't show I called at 2:30pm to see what happened. The operator told me the specialist was running late but would be there. I was sitting on my porch for 3 1/2 hrs when I received a text that the driver completed the service at 5:54pm! A blatant lie! When I called they told me he reported the work complete. I immediately told them to cancel my account. The next day my credit card was being charged the $86.85 for the service. I called and I was told I would be issued a credit. Waiting to see if that holds up. I am so upset I will never use Trugreen for anything ever again and I would tell anyone I know about how awful their service is.

Terrible. Don't waste your time and money. When we first called for information we were harassed by a salesman multiple calls per day until we agreed to sign. Once we paid we heard from no one. It took three weeks to get an appointment which was then cancelled three times. Someone came when we weren't home and supposedly applied chemicals. We never had a person meet with us to discuss our needs , as is advertised. Then tried to speak to a manager. The customer service rep has no direct extension to anyone. Typical large corporation where no one is accountable for anything. Manager calls, leaves a message while we're at work. When I called during lunch break we were told there is no direct number to a manager. The manager is required to make two return calls but doesn't care if they actually get you or not. I cancelled my program and requested a refund. Don't waste your time with this company.

Not satisfied with the results or the company.

They never came out but one time. They charged me for services that they never did. They said they would get me a refund but they still have not done that. I have to keep calling and calling. When they come they usually leave a tag that they were here. They have only come once. They burnt my grass out. So now the lawn is patchy and ruined. Would not recomend them

I'm using them and I'm not happy. So if they pull up this job I'm dumping them. I'm using them since last year and I still have a ton of weed in my grass. They're expensive. When do they do show up, they kinda answer your questions but then same things are happening so they're not solving the problem.

I used the company last year, with a one year contract.  I did not renew the contract, but the firm showed up anyway and did the work.  When I called to complain to say that I never renewed my contract, they said it was my responsibility to cancel, otherwise it would automatically be renewed.  This automatic renewal was never made clear.  In fact, prior to the unwanted service, they left several automated messages saying no work would be done unless they received paperwork from me.  Since I never sent in any paperwork, I never considered the contract to have been renewed, and certainly did not expect any work to be done.  Even though I never renewed the contract, they charged me anyway.  Very poor business practice, and very poor customer relations.

However, as an update to my review, the company did ultimately cancel the charge.

They are very easy to deal with over the phone and have great customer service.  They are all very thorough and make sure to ask questions to make sure we are getting the best service possible.

I in mid-April I entered into a service contract for them to provide lawn services.  After several weeks, I was finally scheduled to have my first service (and this was only after I kept calling them).  However, the day came and went, without them showing up, and no contact from them.  I called them, and was told that somebody would show up the following week.  Again the scheduled day came and went, without them showing up, and without any contact from them. 
When I call the corporate office to complain, they promise that somebody will call me back within 10 minutes.  Of course, nobody called me back.
When I did finally get through to somebody with authority, I was told that the first service would be performed today, and that I would get a partial reimbursement on the contract price.  The refund is the only reason I didn't cancel the service.  However, when I called to find out why I never received the refund, I was told that they didn't see any record of it.  So, I was told I would receive a partial refund, but never received it.
Once the first service was actually performed, it seemed OK.  However, the repeated delays, and the promise of a partial refund that was never received, is the moving factor behind my rating.

I've used this company for lawn fertilization services for the past 2 years.  Unfortunately, I've found that it's rather difficult to find someone who does an adequate job with fertilization and weed control.  Of course, they all promise results yet they all seem to fail to deliver.  The main issue with this company is the lack of results seen.  I've called on multiple occasions to get service calls out.  FIrst of all, it's near impossible to get this office - I'm always routed to a regional office.  There have been times when I was told a service would be made, yet never showed up - when I called to ask about this, they claim no record of the conversation.I've also called for a service call recently, was told weed control was scheduled for that day.  Upon arriving at home later in the day, I discovered that weed control was not done, but only fertilization.  Again, they don't seem to know what's going on.
I called again about a week later and was then told I had to fill out and send back a special form to get a service call and that this was a NY state law.  Fine.  I waited for the email - none arrived.  I called back again. I spoke with another regional rep who sent me another email.  I promptly signed the form, scanned it, and returned it.  No response.   About 2 weeks later, while out of town, they contact me regarding the service call.  I've nearly given up as my lawn is covered with crabgrass and clovers.  I decided to give them another chance.  I went through the process of signing and sending in another form.  Never heard from them.  I called the offices to find out about this - they told me that I had a scheduled appointment that Friday.  The day came and went - no service.  
Another time, a sales representative from Trugreen rang my doorbell around dinner time to sell me services.  Unbelievably, this was done on the same exact day that a service call had been made to my house.
This company not only doesn't return calls, they also don't do work as promised in the contract.

They do a good job, but are a little bit expensive.

We used this company's services approximately every six weeks in the summer and spring, and I highly recommend their punctual services.

They are great at having people show up, but they don't do anything. I told them not to come and they came the next week anyway. What they spread on the lawn didn't do a good job, I could have done a better job. They were supposed to send someone last week and I don't know if they did or not. The reseeding and aerating was also not a great job, they came and did it, but it's all mass produced. I still have plenty of bald spots. I told them I understand it's a bad summer, but with the amount of money I'm spending I don't want excuses, I want results. I could do it myself and save a lot of money.

They have done what they said they will do. I might find someone who is more eco-friendly. They are not any better or worse than anyone else. They are good about routinely servicing the lawn. They have done a good job. They leave notes for us.

I was not very pleased with this company. My lawn did not improve with the treatments, it actually deteriorated. I had more weeds after they did their treatments. I will not use them again.

Trugreen Lawncare comes eight times a year. They do all of the fertilization and chemical applications. They call before they come and are very accommodating to our schedule. After they leave the yard looks great. I give them high marks for the most part, but I think they are a little expensive. I pay them for each time they come.

I have hired others in the past and I was not satisfied. Tru Green however really does an outstanding job. My lawn is looking wonderful and I recommend them to anyone who wants a nice green lawn.

THIS IS NOT THE BEST COMPANY AND IT IS NOT THE WORST. MY LAWN COULD LOOK BETTER. HOWEVER, THIS IS AN RELIABLE, DEPENDABLE AND HARDWORKING COMPANY.

I HAVE USED THEM FOR A FEW YEARS, HOWEVER, I AM NOT COMPLETELY PLEASED WITH THE SERVICE THIS YEAR. THERE WERE SOME PLACES THAT LOOKED PRETTY GOOD, BUT OTHERS THAT DID NOT.

THE COMPANY IS RELIABLE AND THEY DO A DECENT JOB. THE LAWN LOOKS GOOD. THE WEEDS ARE SOMETIMES STILL THERE, BUT I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE WEATHER. I HAVE USED TRU GREEN FOR 10 YEARS.

I BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE A VERY GOOD COMPANY. MY LAWN LOOKS GREAT. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THEM. THEY DO AN OUTSTANDING JOB. THE WORKERS ARE HELPFUL. THEY ARE VERY COURTEOUS.

THE FIRST YEAR, THEIR PRODUCTS WORKED REALLY WELL, AND MY YARD LOOKED GREAT. AFTERWARDS, THERE WAS A BIT OF A FLOOD IN THE AREA. THE YARD JUST NEVER LOOKED THE SAME. I DO NOT THINK IT WAS ENTIRELY THEIR FAULT.

I FEEL THEIR PRICES ARE COMPARABLE TO OTHER LAWN TREATMENT COMPANIES. I HAVE USED THEM FOR A WHILE AND AM SATISFIED WITH THE WAY MY YARD LOOKS.

I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THE COMPANY. I WILL NOT USE THEM AGAIN NEXT YEAR. THEY DID NOT SHOW UP WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD. I AM VERY UNHAPPY. THEY COULD DO A BETTER JOB.

SCOTT'S DOES A GOOD JOB. I HARDLY EVER SEE THEM, BUT I DO KNOW THAT THEY ARE ALWAYS HERE WHEN THEY SAY THEY WILL BE. THEY COME AND DO WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO. MY LAWN LOOKS GOOD.
