About us

Lodestar Construction and Building Services is a company that does GREEN & NON GREEN projects..Both residential and commercial. We are one stop shopping and a turn key operation since we very rarely use sub contractors.... if any it would only be for an electrician or plumber for those projects that are large enough to require a licensed plumber or electrician.. We do all forms of small repair work to major renovations. The owner of Lodestar has 35 years of experience in the maintenance and construction arena. To make it simple there is NOTHING in the repair and construction fields we do not do. We will change your faucet or fix your door, to renovate your condo or co-op to build you a house. We have an in house architect to help you with plans and drawings to speed up the permit process if that is needed for your project. We are also a green company and are familiar with green products to recycled materials and green technology from solar panels to wind mills & turbines to water wheels and green roofs.

This contractor came recommended through a colleague of mine (although my colleague had never used them before - so I decided to contact Joe anyway to give him the benefit of the doubt). I spoke with Joe on a Monday and told him that I'm a real estate investor and in order for me to put the property under contract, I need to determine my rehab budget (so I can know how much I'm going to offer the seller - I'm sure my fellow real estate investors can understand). I didn't think this would be an issue since most contractors offer free estimates and Joe didn't seem to have an issue with it - at least I thought. Fast forward to Friday (today)  when I sent him a text to confirm and you would've thought I spoken to someone completely different. He asked me if I owned the house and when I told him I didn't he said he didn't want to do a free estimate because I'm just shopping around and a bunch of other unnecessary comments which I thought were ridiculous. Regardless of whether or not I own the house or am an investor, I would still want a free estimate. What kind of contractor charges upfront anyways!!!? Not someone I would ever do business with or recommend to anyone. Extremely unprofessional.

Awful -- Scsepko is a liar and a thief. He did the demo but then never installed the new walls or doors. His electrical guy did everything illegal (14 gauge wiring, multiple hidden junction boxes), and he left the wiring exposed in my son's room and my little boy (6 years old) received a bad shock. Scsepko left the work unfinished, with no explanation, and he won't answer phone calls or texts. I have to pay to have the whole thing redone.

Made an appointment, confirmed appointment and Joe never showed up! 
Called him and no answer or returned phone call.  Stay away!

"We never Showed up because once again I have A NYC loon on my hands ... Gave Member a verbal estimate and followed up by mailing Him a contract which needed to be signed and returned with a deposit check . Contract and Check was never sent back... Member says job was unfinished ... should read * Never Started * due to client not sealing the deal ... Why would we show up..no one works for free or without a contract...We called Member and informed him of that..."

Awful, still waiting for a phone call or service. I am currently pregnant and due any week now an need some work before the baby came. Seemed to be an ok guy but was I wrong.

"Never received a signed contract for the project project or a down payment .. job was given to another contractor and we never even had the job ... Customer review is an outright lie.."
