And, with prior arrangements, they can often give you a ride from their garage to your workplace. Also, there's a secure keydrop if you want to leave your car on the prior night.
I wholeheartedly recommend Hettig's Garage. They'll have all of my future auto repair business.
I picked the car up at the agreed upon time, used the Angie's List coupon, and became a satisfied customer - now and probably in the future.
I called provider to get the car checked out for the engine light, because the car needed to be inspected for the year . The provider ran a diagnostic test and told me codes showed up for the emissions. He said the gas tank was rusted and needed to be replaced; he also recommended that the sway bars be replaced.
I had the work done and he did the inspection; I picked the car up and as I was driving it home the engine light came back on, so I called the shop and was told to bring it back in the next morning for more test; To make a long story short my engine light is still on and the shop supervisor said to wait until next year inspection time to take another look at the car, because the problem is too small to diagnose. I'm wondering what did my $940.00 cover; a gas tank?; and if he expects me to pay another $900.00 this year for more testing...I don't think so.
My dilemma is that my engine light is still on and I'm going to need another inspection for 2014.
The place is nice, and close to the Village of Williamsville, so if you want you could probably wait while the work was done.
I was also a few minutes late picking the car up and they were very accommodating. I would use them again.
I stopped in on Monday, May 7, 2013, and when I pulled into the parking lot, I was greeted by Mark, the owner, who was very friendly and welcoming. I immediately felt at ease and explained the purpose of my visit. Mark escorted me to the office and introduced me to Judy Dunn, the Office Manager, who promptly made an appointment for me for the very next day. Judy also explained if it was more convenient for me, I could drop the vehicle off later that evening and showed me the secure lock box for my vehicle's keys. While speaking with Judy, I was also introduced to Dan, the General Manager. Dan was also very friendly and answered some additional questions I had. I asked Mark what he thought the approximate cost of the brake job would be and he stated around $350 - $375 or so.
The next morning I dropped off my vehicle at 8:15 am and again spoke with Dan. He reassured me he would carefully look the vehicle over and call me for my authorization should he find any additional work needed to be done. I went home and approximately an hour later, I received a call from Dan stating the calipers were frozen solid and I needed to replace them for an additional cost of approximately $150. He also stated that my front tire was fine and it was the rim that needed straightening out for a minimal cost of $16. I authorized the additional items and Dan stated the vehicle would be ready at approximately 4 pm, but that he would call me if it was ready sooner.
At 3:45 p.m., Dan called and stated my vehicle was ready to be picked up. When I arrived at 4:10 p.m., my vehicle was ready and parked in front of the garage bay facing the street. I mention this because a vehicle of this size has a poor turning radius and their parking lot was somewhat small. I appreciated this, too, because backing out onto Mill Street during rush hour can be hazardous. So, nice touch, guys!
All in all, I was very satisfied with their professionalism and the cost of the job. The price I paid above is shown after a $50 Angie's List member discount. I am a very happy camper and would highly recommend Hettig's Service and their mechanics. I plan to have future service on my other vehicles done at Hettig's. Thanks again for a great experience!
"Thank you very much for the great review! We truly enjoyed the opportunity to meet you & service your vehicle. We use Angie's List to continually improve our customer service & your experience. Thank you very much!"
