Mayo & Son Painting
About us
Mayo & Son Painting has been a family-owned and operated business since 1997. E.J Mayo created the business in hopes to someday pass on the trade to his sons. The long standing tradition of painting started with E.J ‘s grandfather who was a sign painter and his father who owned a painting company in Colorado for many years. The trade has been carried on by many, with a brother and brother-in-laws also owning their own businesses. Starting young, E.J worked for his father’s business learning the basics of the trade, and in the early 90′s, E.J moved to New York and decided he wanted to pursue the dream of having his own business as well. In 1997 E.J went after that dream and has been working hard since to create a successful company based on craftsmanship and long-lasting relationships with his clientele. Whether your project requires painting a single home or an entire sub-division, our Rochester painters have the experience to complete the job with incredible professionalism. To ensure superior quality for our clients, we only use the best available paints and products. We never leave our clients with a mess to clean up when we have finished painting. Our Rochester painters make certain the area is left in a clean and orderly state. Before we consider a project finished, one of our quality control inspectors will do a final walk-through with the homeowner to make sure our work meets or exceeds.

"[Member Name Removed] when i read this i about fell out of my chair. First because you were moving out of the counrty in 9 days I moved you up in the schedule. Not only was i not going to do the job because your house was filthy you said you were moving because you did not want to live in America any longer. You wanted me to paint a closet and bathroom that we did not have time to complete at that time frame. You told me the guys were great, you even tipped them $20.00. Gave them Prints of Wolves, And you told me things went great. The only negative thing you told me was that you had to purchase the paint, Which was clearly worded in the Deal. I just cant believe that after everything we did to accomdate you this is what you wrote!!!! Signed EJ mayo an A rated Angies Provider."
professional in their work and in dealing with me and my son. Their work was 5
star in all aspects of the job. In addition
they were timely in their arrival and in
completing the job. The work was easily worth
much more than what I paid
I highly recommend them.
EJ made quick work of the estimate. While he didn't waste time with idle chatter -- it was early morning and we both had places to be -- he did point out a few places where the previous remodeler had left unsanded drywall and wallpaper that should have been removed. His quote -- as we agreed -- might not the cheapest, but he does good work.
We had a couple minor communications glitches. The first time my computer crashed and did not send him the email I'd promised with my color choices. After a couple weeks I discovered this and contacted EJ and we got back on track. Another email sent through his website also didn't make it, but this time I did not wait so long to call him and confirm.
The day he came his van had died and yet he kept his commitment to come on the days promised and finish the job. We were pleased with the job.
EJ Mayo delivered exactly what he promised at exactly the quoted price. Our cabinets went from drab, 1980s dark oak to a wonderful off-white. I'm thrilled. (the short version, for those who don't want to read the whole review).
The complete story is this: The workers were courteous and very careful about closing off as much of the work area as possible. They also ran a huge fan to remove some of the fumes. They worked hard while they were here, and I was pleased with their attention to detail. I needed very little explained as it was a straightforward job, but when I had a question they took the time to answer me completely.
They took all of the cabinet doors off and brought them to their shop to paint them there. When they returned them, they had been all marked so carefully that they went right back up where they came from, correctly and without a fuss. My kitchen was left in excellent shape, clean and absolutely beautiful.
The paint job is wonderful, changing the entire look of the kitchen. I would do it again and highly recommend EJ to anyone thinking of this kind of job.
My only negative comment is that I had to wait a long time for them to start. By the time I decided to have the job done they had taken on an exceptionally large project, which they had a couple of delays in completion. The actual wait time from sending my deposit to starting the job was more than 4 months. But honestly, it was well worth the wait. If you are considering them for cabinet painting, do it! Get on the waiting list. You won't be sorry.
