Mechanic rambled on about how he thought the entire mower was junk, sure it's weathered n worn but works great, except for motor, which is all I asked to be looked at. Paid $80 for an "I dunno" and a leak check. The receipt explained that he figured it most likely needs a full engine rebuild and carburator redone also. It was running on one cylinder. So I took it home after their diagnosis, took me 1.5 hours to look at the right cylinder and find the valves were not closing fully, mostly the exhaust. I adjusted the valves, installed a new gasket and problem solved. Well almost. They had to have removed the carb float bowl and dropped one of the main jets out into the bottom of the bowl. Leaving one jet of two in place. So even tho it was again running on two cylinders instead of one, it was coughing and sputtering, which it did not do before. So I removed the carb and disassembled it and found the one main jet stuck in the bottom of the bowl, reinstalled it, and now the motor runs great, strong. So Reeders is great for parts but mechanic sucks. Ripoff.
