Matt and his team were excellent. We had a big job for them to do which included the entire exterior to our two-story 90+ year-old home. The house definitely needed an overall refresher. It hadn't been painted in many years. The job was done on schedule and as estimated. Matt was easy to communicate with, and we felt he and his team wanted to do the best job possible. They were always professional and over the course of the job (which included full washing, scraping, and painting) we always were happy to have them on our property, which they kept in good order.

Matt is a consummate professional. He is friendly, easy to work with, reliable, shows up on time every time and is fair with his prices. His work is meticulous and he is very neat. You will never even know he was there when he and his crew clean up and leave. He is always available if you have questions. Or to come back and touch something up. He has done work for me and a family member. And we both could not be happier with the work. I have had a number of people drive by my house and complement his work.

Matt and his team did an excellent job. The results are spectacular! Our house has original cedar shingles which had not been painted for over 10 years. He and his team thoroughly scraped and prepped all surfaces, and then meticulously repainted it with fresh colors. Looks like a completely different house. Can't count how many compliments we've received on how great it looks. Matt was a pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend him for any home painting needs.

Matt was a pleasure to work with. Him and his partner did an amazing job with our rooms. He suggested the best paint for our needs, was always prompt in replying to questions, and was even done with the job a few hours early. My wife and I had high expectations for this project and we are very pleased with the results. We interviewed three contractors and found Matt to be very knowledgeable about our painting project. His Angie’s List reviews were stellar giving us the confidence to retain his services. He arrived in a timely manner each day. Matt and his partner worked quietly, neatly and clearly took pride in their work. The paint lines contrasting the different paint tones of the trims, door and window surrounds are crisp and ruler straight. He finished our project in two days which was his estimate. I found him personable and easy to work with. His price was very competitive. If your looking for a painter, Matt is your guy. We plan to retain him for future painting projects.

Matt Hartman is a “Magician with a brush” (and a trowel)! He just finished re-plastering and painting three floors of our 120 year old brownstone townhouse. The place looks fabulous and he completed the work on time, on budget and was minimally disruptive. He never made a mess even though he did extensive plaster work. He even came back to do touch-ups when a mover and a carpet layer damaged his work. This isn't the first time we've used Matthew. Several years ago a leaking shower caused significant damage to our parlor floor ceiling including plaster molding. He restored the ceiling and decorative molding completely On top of everything else, he's a really nice guy! I can't recommend him highly enough.

Matt is very professional and curteous. From the get go, he knows exactly what to do. All my questions were answered and he kept me informed about the job progress. Ill definitely reach out in the future for all my renovation projects.

Matt and his team painted our entire house, and we are so pleased with the results. Some of our rooms use very dark colors, and we have a good amount of complex moldings, so we needed (and got!) a very skilled painter. We chose to use Farrow & Ball paint, and between that and the summer humidity, it took a couple of weeks longer than planned. He was great about communicating with us about the finish date when it became apparent that there would be a delay, and was happy to schedule around other work we had planned on the house. Matt and his team were precise and careful with our floors and belongings. He is also professional and just plain nice. Would definitely use him again!

Matt and his team are wonderful. This was our 2nd time using MH. He is always friendly, punctual and keeps his area of work (and surrounding area) clean and tidy. Most importantly, they also did an impeccable paint job.

Matt and his team did a fantastic job in our upstairs bedrooms. Our walls were old, and unbeknownst to us, had water damage from over the years. The before and after pictures are hard to believe. We are extremely pleased with the results and will definitely hire MH Painting to do the rest of our house when the time comes. I used Matt for a 2nd. time and he did a great job. The living room looks great and the bathroom and closets look brand new. I would definitely use him again if I need another painting project done. I have enclosed pictures of the work he did on my living room and bath room but the inside of my closets were too dark for a picture but they came out great.

Matt and his crew did a fantastic job of painting our new condo. In addition, they worked around our schedule of moving things in. They also went above and beyond, fixing a few small things such as reattaching a dislodged piece of baseboard.

NOTHING Matt stopped responding

It went well. Matt and his crew did an excellent job with the painting and the clean up afterwards. There were a few additional things that came up which Matt was very gracious about handling for me. The plastering was a little higher than expected because there was more plastering that had to be done but he but did a great job. My bedroom and kitchen now look much brighter and cleaner after the paint job.

Matt was great! Responded to us quickly, came by for a quote, and completed the job quickly. The skim coat and paint job look great. Very happy with his services, and would hire him again!

Matt is definitely the person you want to work with. He's reliable, hardworking, extremely trustworthy, and a great painter. I couldn't be happier with his work. Very professional.

Matt was professional and up front from the beginning. He was very specific in the materials he'd use and was able to return a quote quickly. His pricing was extremely reasonable, considering other quotes we received were as high as THREE TIMES AS MUCH for the same job! The work came out fantastic - clean and crisp. It looked like a brand-new house. I am very pleased and I would definitely use them again!
