Giant Siding and Windows

My residing job, which did not include windows or gutters, was completed in November of 2020. It cost $28,600. One month later, on December 19th 2020, after the big snow storm, water began flowing into my house through the sashes in my kitchen window. I have video of this event and photos of the ice melt running like water from an open tap from the head or top of the window frame into my kitchen. It is clear from some of the videos that my storm windows were not properly reinstalled (gaps); however, there is water leaking between the window sashes as well, a far more serious problem. This leakage occurred for a second time in February 2021. This never happened before I resided. Believe me, I would not have spent $28,600 fixing up my house yet ignore a problem such as leaky windows. I have a new roof, with ice shield protection. I have topped gutters which were empty of debris. I had no leaks; that changed was the residing job. Perry sent his assistant Dan to my home within a day in December 2020. Dan and Perry both promised me that the lead manager on my job, Tony, would fix it when the opportunity arose. This was the verbal commitment that was not kept. Since January 7th 2021, I have called and spoken to the office manager, Laure, and been put off many times. I finally sent a letter to Perry Hayes and he came to my house in April of 2021 and promised to do something about the leak. He did nothing. I also have written to James Hardie (maker of the siding materials) to get them to pressure Giant Siding into making my repairs. I believe that is why Perry came to my house in April. I chose Giant Siding and Windows precisely because James Hardie recommended the company as "Elite Preferred," one of two in Westchester eligible for a 50 year warranty. These are very nice people. They do a beautiful job. But if anything goes wrong you are on your own. It's your money. Spend it wisely.
