The roof on one side of our house was in bad shape and we had a lot of water issues during the last winter. When I was getting estimates from various roofers, Perry stood out - he showed up on time and with a book filled with proof of insurance, etc. He knew exactly where our roof problems were with the water before I said anything about the location. He also spent a long time talking about the windows with me and in the end, even talked me out of the more expensive windows. His bid was reasonable to the other bids I received. He told us when his workers would show up and everyone was on time. The work was done quickly (one day for the windows and one day for the half roof). He matched the shingles to the ones on the side where the roof had already been re-done. Everything was cleaned up afterwards and there were no random roof nails lying around (important since I have young kids). He also recommended putting fan vents in our attic and our electric bill has been lower this summer and our house cooler because of it. That made a huge difference. I haven't been through a winter yet so I will update my review next winter, but already, we are happy with our experience with Giant Siding and Windows.

We had seen the Giant trucks in our neighborhood and called them in just based on that. Perry (The owner) came, looked over the house and gave us samples of color and siding types. It was a very straight forward and no pressure sales approach that was sincere. After reviewing we wanted to see a few colors on houses. Perry provided us with houses to look at in our area right away. We had a small list of other questions that were answered easily by Giant and decided to proceed. Our house was built in 1956 and had cedar shingles on it that were pretty beat up. I removed the in wall AC units prior to Giant coming and noticed my sheathing was Homasote (a cheaper building material from the 50s). Tony, the foreman and his crew arrived exactly when they said they would and started to tear off the old shingles. They worked quickly and are very organized. Later in the day when the tear out was complete Perry stopped buy and gave us the choice of putting 1/2 plywood over the Homasote for a better nailing surface or just nailing to the Homasote which in my opinion wasn't and option. We didn't want the extra cost but this is something you have to expect when opening the walls on your home. Sometimes things need to be corrected and this will be an additional cost obviously. Glad we went with the plywood. Tony gave outstanding recommendations on leader placement that made the house look much cleaner. Like most homeowners I had questions during the job and Tony answered everyone of them. I "was" an interior contractor years ago and am still very attentive to details. To get even more detailed, the wrap on the house was done very well, great overlap and all in the right direction to control any water issues. Rigid insulation was installed and the siding went up. All the security lights and GFCIs back in place with new mounting blocks also. Lines on the siding are super even dare I say perfect and there are not an abundance of seems. All the trim and caps were mitered great and caulked. The house came out much better than we expected. Except for a few broken branches (which should be expected during heavy work like this) the crew cleaned up BETTER than our landscaper and cleared the yard and driveway of ALL debris except 3 screws... I forgive them. :) And those might have been mine. All in all a great straight forward experience with a very professional company.

Went really well. The team was very fast and detailed. They finished the whole house in two days...probably more like 1 and a 3/4s. Worked cleanly. Only problem I had was with the dumpster company they used on removal they did some damage but Perry was on top of them and got it straightened out for me.

Hi- I had a 6:30pm appointment with Perry on 5/19/15 which was set a week in advance. Since I work in New York City and usually don't get home till 7:30-8 I had to use half of my vacation day to make sure I would be home by 6:30 PM for the appointment. Around 6:45 I started calling the office as no one had showed up and I get a recorded message. Next morning when I called the office to see what happened the lady said "oh I'm so sorry I completely forgot to call you to let you know that we couldn't make it to the appointment." I can't believe I I wasted half of my vacation day on these idiots.

Had an issue with the siding coming off and screws were loose. Called them to have them come fix it because it was under warranty, and they never returned my call. Kept hearing that they call you back with no response. Called 6 times. When you finally got a call back I was told I would be called back later. So I became frustrated with the lack of concern and responsibility. There was no follow up for 3 days. They did offer to send someone out, but yet to see the person or have the problem taken care of.

Perry and his staff were great. Perry gave us his cell phone and would get back to us within minutes with any questions or concerns that we had. The job took about 5 days. This staff and supervisor show up ever day at 7:45am and worked until it was dark. They would clean up the area every night and sweep the driveway of the days debris. His price was lower then his local competition and he and his staff were courteous, professional and just did a terrific job. We are looking forward to having him and his staff back in the spring to do our roof.

I contacted Giant and Alfonse was at my home within days. We discussed our needs/wants and several ideas that I had. He was very knowledgeable and patient. He explained things thoroughly, and I never felt pressured or pushed into one product over another. In fact, there were a few instances where I asked for his professional opinion and his advice would have saved me money. We continued to discuss products and colors after the initial visit, and he even provided different design combinations. Alfonse went beyond my expectations. We are not proceeding with the project right now, but when we do, Giant and Alfonse will be getting a call.

We could not be happier with the work that Perry, Alfonso and the crew did on our home. We had four contractors come and give us estimates and while Perry wasn't intitially the least expensive, we were able to rework the estimate with a different brand of windows to bring it under the others. Of all the contractors we met with, Perry seemed the most knowledgable of his products and the least "sales pitchy" and since he was an actual "windows and siding" company he inspired the most confidence that he could deliver on what he was promising. The work proceeded very smoothly from start to finish and it was done in less than 2 weeks, much faster than what the other contractors were estimateing. We worked most closely with Alfonso who, despite what some of the other reviewers have said, I had no problems communicating with. They foresaw issues I had not thought of and were able to advise us on the best solutions. Alfonso and I had a very good working relationship. We had to roll with some minor delays when windows/doors weren't shipped with our order (or were the wrong size) but I never felt like I was going to be left hanging (all delays were from the factory not Giant). Any small complaint I had (a tear in a screen, a chip in the door handle) was responded to with a "don't worry I can fix that" and he did. Alfonso went above and beyond what I expected, the quailty of work exceeded the price as far as I'm concerned. I would highly recommend this company. They will be back soon to replace my front door as well.

I met the owner Perry Hayes in June to discuss my options for siding the house and prices. My first impression of Perry was very professional and experienced. He told me how his family was in this business for 3 generations and what some of his previous projects entailed. He seemed to be a guy I could work with on such a large project. He was not only approachable but very responsive when it came to returning emails or calls. That is a very important to me when hiring contractors. We had a lot of custom additions to the job(small window insert on gable, wainscoting for windows, larger gutter installs) in which Perry was very accommodating. During the job his supervisor Tony was most helpful in answering questions and keeping us advised of any changes or concerns he had. His work crew was always polite and professional. No loud music or bad behavior. The siding was done on time, and budget. We could not be more satisfied with the job.

Giant Siding team worked quickly and professionally. Everything was done in two days.I wish there were more companies out there today that had this kind of business philosophy. Will definitely use them for future projects.

We hired Perry and Giant Siding twice to replace all the very old windows in our home over the course of two years. About a year and a half ago we selected Perry out of half-a-dozen other window contractors. On a personal level Perry is a breath of fresh air- he's energetic and extremely personal and responsive. He made us feel that he would really listen to us and has a great ability to relate to the customer. For example, we wanted the most energy efficient windows we could find (making our home energy efficient is very important to us) and Perry was very helpful in leading us to a Harvey model that had efficiency specs that were off-the-chart. We had two other contractors try to convince us not to go with the premium efficiency window because in their opinion "it's not that important". We appreciate contractors experienced opinions about product and process, for sure. What was different with Perry was that he seemed to recognize that this was a priority for us and supported that even though he made clear we were going to pay a premium for the windows and that we were going above and beyond what most people would require. We liked that. During the first job, where we replaced about 75% of the windows, we had a couple concerns during the installation and Perry was very responsive and addressed our questions right away. Perry's right-hand-man, Alfonso, seems to oversee most of the work and at times communicating with Alfonso can be challenging but Perry makes it clear that he's ALWAYS available by phone, email, whatever and we got very used to contacting him whenever we had questions. And Perry proved to us more than once that he will drop what he's doing and get to us to oversee a situation if that's what we needed. This made us feel VERY comfortable and made us feel like WE were ALWAYS a priority to him- not just another customer. We found this a unique quality in a contractor. The second job- where we basically finished the entire house of windows including an attic window- went very well. Alfonso showed up at 8:30am- as promised- a very punctual and efficient crew. This job involved doing some replacement siding when a very old attic window and two louver panels had to be removed. The siding looks lovely and the new attic window is great. While pricing out the second job I pointed out to Perry an anomaly with one of our original replacement windows. He took a picture of it and made a note and I have complete confidence he will take care of it- that's just the kind of customer care we've experienced with him.

The owner, Perry Hayes, was the person we worked with on this project from the start. He spent over an hour with us initially before giving his estimate, as we worked out the various options together. He is friendly, very professional and very approachable. His estimate was considerably lower than the other two we got, but based on his company's history, which we researched, and the fact that he's local to us, we had confidence that the job would be done properly. The work went well as promised and on schedule, with the re-siding taking only three days. Perry was on site at least a couple of times each day and was responsive to any questions I had and quickly addressed any of the small concerns I had. His team was courteous, professional and capable. Overall I'm very satisfied with the results and my house looks great!

Perry was very professional and responsive to our initial request for an estimate. Some roofing companies never responded to our request, and some sent quotes through snail mail. But Perry came out to give us an estimate within a day or two, and sent the quote back via email within 24 hours. He knew our roof was leaking, and he appreciated that we were an Angie's list customer, so he prioritized us in scheduling our new roof installation. When picking out shingles, we wanted to go with a particular shingle that got the best rating on consumer reports so our total cost is a few thousand more because of the shingles we selected. Perry's team arrived on time, and started working very quickly. It became apparent that it was going to rain the next day, so they worked tirelessly to finish our entire roof in one day. They worked from 9am to 7pm and got the job done. Perry even added an additional guy to the job to get it done. It was nice to experience the rain the next day with a completed new roof! The workers were considerate and cleaned up all of the outside debris. I've never seen a team of people work that hard in one day. On the day of the roof installation, I had a lot of questions for Perry about the debris (from old roof) and timeframes. He was very responsive via cell phone and texting to all my questions, and came by during the day to inspect his team's work. The one thing I would mention to fellow Angie's list members about to embark on a new roof?. make sure you cover your attic (or any exposed area immediately under roof) with plastic tarp or remove anything of value. After the work was done, our attic was covered with a layer of dust/dirt. I mentioned this to Perry and he said its not typical that he would send his team into someone's house to clean that up. He offered to clean it up himself, which I appreciated, but we ended up doing it ourselves since we got the impression it wasn't a standard part of the service. I think this is the typical response of roofing companies from what I've heard from other friends and neighbors. So just make sure you cover up your attic with plastic before the work is started. This is the one thing I wish Perry had mentioned to us in advance. But overall, we were very happy with the service, and the work completed. We would definitely use Giant Siding & Windows again!

So far, the service has been excellent. I'm very impressed with the owner. He's a very friendly person and knows exactly what the customer wants, right away. He showed me pictures of it right away and it was perfect, very quick. He's responsive and really knows what he's doing. There's nothing he could do to improve, because he's good. I would absolutely use him in the future.

Fantastic job and we are very pleased from beginning to end. We take pride in my house, have high standards and care about the experience and workmanship .... Giant exceeded our expectations. Perry (owner) was terrific to work with and very responsive to our questions which helped us through the planning/contract part. Pricing was very competitive. He was very clear and straight forward which made the process easy. His wonderful team was on time, neat, talented and very hard working as they completed the job expeditiously and on time (they worked full days and almost non stop). Workmanship was superb and met all the agreed terms. All work was up to spec (no shortcuts). Given the type of work to remove old cedar shingles, we were very pleased with the cleanup....left nothing for me to sweep up. Highly recommend!

This is the second job we happily hired Giant for with terrific results. Highly recommended. In fact, they helped us with a major change and were very flexible. We appreciated them shifting gears as we added the roof replacement to the siding job they had already started. This caused them to shift their schedule to accommodate us and did not blink. The workmanship continued to please us and these guys worked non stop to complete it. The clean up was terrific and they protected our newly installed flower beds from any damage (location was right where they needed to work). They met all the contracts terms and met our high standard/expectations with a job well done.

I am an unhappy customer, and I had a completely different experience from the many positive reviews on Angie's List. I was very disappointed in their workmanship. For example, the clamps used to attach the gutter downspouts to the new siding were installed crookedly. The biggest problem is with the screen door. When they installed it, they cracked the main doorframe. The new screen door is now hanging and not closing properly. Giant wanted to repair the cracked frame with glue and refused to replace the damaged section of the doorframe. Since the doorframe was in perfect condition before they installed the screen door, I did not agree that they should leave me with a glued frame that seems like a temporary fix. I refused their solution of a patch up job and will be looking for another contractor to have it repaired correctly. I did not experience the good communication that so many reviews wrote about, and my phone calls were not always returned. And I did not experience good customer service?especially when no one bothered to show up for their 8am-1pm Saturday service appointment! When I called Monday morning to report it, there was no apology. I would have thought they would at least try to make it up to me by rescheduling around my convenience, but instead I was given an appointment that was totally at their convenience for 7:30 the next morning. All in all, I am very disappointed in my experience with GIANT, and I would definitely NOT recommend them!

Residing a house is a big project, especially for one with older shingles and some rotted wood. I expected but was still amazed with how much work this entails. When we first considered doing this work, I knew nothing about siding except that our house needed a change, and Perry (the Giant Siding owner) arrived at our house with an honest assessment of the work that we wanted and what our options were. We discussed the different siding options, but settled on Hardie Board given the house size and neighborhood, not that Perry was driving an upsell - he truly wanted what was best for the house within our budget. And he was flexible on doing additional 'add ons' that were slightly out of the re-siding purview. The work process took about 10 days, including the construction of the new portico (which looks awesome), and the lead up to the work including signing the contract and ordering all the materials took about 4-5 weeks. So in 6 weeks or so, our entire house was transformed. The Giant on site team, lead by super-foreman Tony and his brother Armando were spectacular - there every day and managing the process start to finish. For those that are just learning, you 100% need to go with a siding expert for this type of work, the application of this process needs many specialized tools and experience, and that's what you get with Giant. Working with Perry was great, he was always available to answer questions, though Tony was the day to day point person and drove a very efficient process. Our house has a lot of twists and turns outside given some historic additions, which is why it took over a week, but the team was working hard each and every day (and the weather helped as well). All in all, it was a smooth process, the value was good even though it is an expensive endeavor, and the outcome was better than I could have hoped - it looks like a new house. In fact, we've had neighbors comment it looks like new construction right on our block. Than you Perry and the Giant team!

Initially, very responsive. Both of us had to reschedule the initial appointment. Very accomodating and I was fine with having to change appt. Based on the reviews I was hoping Perry would come as he seems to have the highest praise. Instead Alfonse came to do the quote. Neverthless, I found him personable and knowledgeable. So much so I sent him to my neighbors as they wanted new windows as well. All seemed quite good but no quote, call or follow-up ever came. I emailed twice - no reply. I called twice and both times were treated very well by the staff but still not a single email or call back. Very disappointed as I was excited to see a company with such high ratings and was sure I would be using them for the job. Perhaps they are just too busy. That can happen. But to have zero feedback after four attempts says something about the attitude towards potential customers.

Perry was both personable and professional. We'd had an estimate done six months or so before we actually executed the project and Perry was flexible and professional. His team are all pros. They move quick, are neat, and precise. Perry is responsive and follows through. This was a project that we simply needed to do on our house and we are very happy with our experience the Giant Windows and Siding and highly recommend.

The estimated was provided in a timely fashion. The work began exactly as promised. It was completed entirely on schedule. All the appropriate warnings were given and the damage was minimal. He responded to the minor damage (which was inevitable) and corrected it immediately. The workers were responsive, tidy, punctual and professional. Perry gave me his cell phone number and we were in frequent contact. He answered all questions appropriately and thoroughly. The work was completed on time and on budget. I have already recommended him to friends and family. My house looks brand-new. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Perry Hayes and crew did a terrific job on our new roof. He removed the old one and took away all the garbage. They installed new skylights and a brand new roof. He used top of the line materials, didn't cut any corners. The crew worked hard and had the job done in 2 1/2 days. they were all business and I could see that his crew members wasted no time during the day. The roof made it flawlessly through the toughest winter in recent memory.

Giant replaced all our windows and 2 sliding glass doors. Our house was built in 1986 and had low grade windows. Perry Hayes installed new construction Marvin Windows and they are awesome. They all slide and work perfectly and significantly reduced or heating bill this past winter. They got the job done in two days with almost no mess. Everything was done correctly on the installation, we couldn't be happier.

So completely thrilled with the work performed by Giant Siding. We had our house sided in 2 days...so professional & prompt. Perry made it all a seamless process...explaining my options, providing estimate, scheduling, project performance, payment...it all went very smoothly. I am completely satisfied and can't wait to use them again on other projects! I have already had many requests for his name and number from people impressed with the work on my house. I attempted to schedule an appointment with the provider twice. The first time, Alan promised to show up the following morning but didn't. I called later in the evening and he apologized for not showing up and promised to show up the next morning. He failed to show up again without any notice.
