He came in and said I had a warranty for 6 months. Then when he was leaving he said their was no warranty and that they would only deduct the $225 from the overall cost. He then said that one of the chimes were worn out. I literally had never used them and in an apartment you can't. He then replaced it anyways without saying anything. I felt like they were dishonest. The clock is now running hours slow. Its not even usable. I have called him and left a message and he has not responded.

I'm glad I found this business on Angie's list. A preliminary search on Google included a link to Yelp with a note that the business had been closed. I would have given up at that point, but kept looking (I later discovered that the Yelp posting was inaccurate - hopefully Yelp has corrected the error by now)

Jonathan made a house-call to take a look at my 19th century mantle clock. It would run for a minute or two, then stop. When the cause couldn't be easily found he suggested that it be bought in to their shop in White Plains. Mamoud kept the clock for a month, completely took it apart to find the problem way at the back - an easy shortcut repair by someone who had fixed it in years past. The problems he found were all carefully resolved - with photos to document what was done. The clock is working beautifully now.

I've read the comments of other reviewers. I can't disagree about their location, and in a perfect world this shop would be located in a splendid upscale spot. But reality is another story, and what matters is the quality of their work. I hope they stay where they are if it helps them stay in business. Craftsmen like this are becoming very hard to find.

They took the clock for 2 months, removed it from the case, and made sure all the new parts worked before delivering it to my home, setting it up, teaching me about it, and leveling it.
The only thing about Franklin Clock that is a problem is their location. The mall in which they are located in White Plains is very poorly maintained. This gem of a shop is surrounded by very shoddy businesses. Believe me, the experts at Franklin Clock should be located in a prestigious East Side address in Manhattan--not this sad location. Do not base your estimation of their quality service and expertise on their location.

Mr. Haller (the owner) is a colorful character but apparently knowledgeable about antique clocks--as was his assistant who did a lot of the detailed re-assembly. The job took two home visits--the first to inspect the clock, which had been disassembled for shipping and the second (a week later) to re-assemble it.

Jonathan came on time and diagnosed the situation quickly, and after conferring with me, proceeded to fix the clock. Then he explained to me ways to prevent it from happening again. The clock is working beautifully.

They were very good. They did a good job with the clock. I would use them in the future.

The interaction was very good. It is a family heirloom and he fixed it and it is working fine now.

Came to house for examination and estimate.ane tried to fix it at that time for $150. We brought the clock back to his shop and he credited the $150 toward the total of $650 to repair. He said it would take 6 weeks and it did . We are very happy with the final result.

Really, really well. Franklin Clock was referred to me by a country club that had used their services before and we were very pleased with the quality and price of the work. Jonathan came to the house, took apart the clock and took it back to the shop. Building the new pendulum was time consuming to get right, so it took about 2 months. When it was done, he brought the mechanism and the new pendulum back, put the clock back together, and gave us detailed instructions on how to keep it working going forward. He came in the evening, which was what we needed since we're both out during the day.
