Al's Moving and Storage

The worst move of my life. I tried waiting patiently for a resolution but to no avail. I would attach pictures but it doesn’t look like I can here. Unprofessional, incommunicative, disrespectful. Damages to my boxes and furniture. Thank goodness I was smart enough to move the most valuable things myself.

Al's never responded to my numerous emails and phone calls and photo documentation. Although many witnesses, starting with my neighbor who hired him for her moving, attested that his moving truck completely shattered my rail fence at the corner of our properties, Al when contacted by the police department denied any culpability for damages. He likewise refused to speak with us after an initial phone call. The company claimed to be insured for such damages, but then indicated that they were unable to track down the driver with the insurance. After four months of evasive behavior on the part of Al's Moving, we wound up having to do the repair work ourselves.

They are very reliable and very good

I would give ZERO stars if possible. This company threatened and intimidated me, a single mom, and my mother, a senior, with intimidation by stating they were convicted felons who knew “people.” Excuse me? They aggressively pursued my business and then dismissed all promises of service. Do not answer their calls and/or promises for service. I am disgusted with their intimidation tactics…to the point that we paid (unfairly) in full due to threatening and harassing tactics. Stay away.

If I could give this company 7 stars, I would. A true family owned business. I got an in home evaluation after another company skunked me out of almost $2K. He also gave me a fair price. Joe (owner's son) was incredible. His crew were like avenging angels. Four Men showed up wearing "Got Movers" T-Shirts. My move was from Yonkers, NY to Hudson, FL. Not only did they pack up everything in 4 Hours, my belongings were held gratis for 10 Days until they had a truck coming to Florida. The crew that came to Florida was also Aces. I cannot thank Joe and his crew enough!

Al's was exactly as advertised - a professional, family-run moving company that does what they say they will do for the price they say it will cost. Movers were on time for each segment of the work, crew-chief Joey and the guys were easy to work with, and we liked working with the family managers. Antiques and crystal arrived unharmed, along with everything else. Thanks Als.

Move went very smoothly. Celos, Oscar & Bennie were great! They showed up on time, worked about 10 + hours straight , were polite and very professional. Sandra and Al Jr were really nice to work with in the days leading up to the move also. Very responsive and thorough. Out of 3 movers I called for quotes , Al's was the only one who offered to come by and actually look at what we had to move so they could tailor he quote properly. Very impressed with this operation. I have moved 17 times in the past 25 years and this company was by far the best.

Al and Sandra were excellent. They are professionals who really know their business. This was very important to us since we were on a very tight time table, loading our old house Day 1, closing on the sale Day 2, Closing on the purchase Day 3 and moving in the afternoon of Day 3. These guys were very punctual and reliable. We had a lot of things to move in our four bedroom home that filled two large trucks completely. Al had two crews load. We requested the same crews to unload since they took such great care of our things. Joey, the operations guy assigned the same crews which worked out very well. The men were very hard workers and really took pride in a job well done. As far as breakage goes, the was none. Remarkably we had a couple of minor items damaged that I am convinced were due to the was we packed them. I did not even mention them to Al. I would strongly encourage anyone planning a move of any size to consider Al's Moving (aka Clark's Moving). Lastly, their pricing was fair, coming in at the midpoint of 5 bids we solicited.

Being in the real estate business I come across a lot of movers. I was introduced to AL's company and gave them the opportunity to move me and my friend who bought my house who also used Al. We both had phenomenal experiences. Al's people were quick, clean and extremely polite. On the day the move being that I have a large family we were not able to pack everything up ourselves. A few days before I called AL and asked him if he could help. The morning of the move he sent over a few extra guys along with all the shipping and packing material and finished packing everything up. Not one glass or piece of silverware was broke it or misplaced. My wife was busy with our new born and they respected everything she asked them to do. Being that this was a very emotional time in our lives as we left the house I raised my family in they were patient and understanding and let me and my wife feeling that we had made the right decision choosing Al's Moving and Storage. In my line of work I come across many movers and this was just a great experience. I have moved several times in the past and have never had it this easy. Al, Sandra and his entire staff were pleasant to deal with and being that it is a family business and a local company I love to help out the local community. There prices are also the most competitive around for what they do. If you are thinking of moving in or even out of Westchester they are the ones to use. I've recommended them already too many of my clients and I have not received one complaint I have received only thanks from them. I used Al's Movers to move me to my new home in White Plains. Al came over at my house personally and gave me a quote. He was quick and professional and very responsive. The price he gave me was the price I paid. When the big day came his movers did everything from packing to loading and unloading and all my items in my house. They were fast, professional and a pleasure to deal with. Everything in my home was packed and unpacked and not a single thing was broken. I have heard horror stories from friends and colleagues that have told me their movers have broken and lost many items. I did not even have one glass broken as they took extra care to make sure all my personal belongings were properly stored and secured. This was my first home I purchased an Al's Movers made it a seamless transition. With all the stress I already had of buying a new home the move was the easiest part of it. Al's movers made it extremely easy and affordable for me and alleviated much of stress of that day. I have used different moving companies in the past and there is no comparison to Al's Movers they are the best in the area and being a family run business they take pride in what they do.

The guys on this moving crew were great. They worked hard for hours in the pouring rain and took great care to keep our belongings dry and protect our home from the water. They were polite and professional and really nice men. The estimate was accurate, less expensive than other quotes and our move took about the time anticipated.

Good but they charged us for their hour lunch and for time spent driving to and from the job.

I would use them in the future.

The movers were nice and friendly but not too careful. My furniture got scratched and my expensive curio cabinet door was broken. They were on time.

I had to move from my previous home  to another location about two miles away. I spoke to  Al some time before to have a general idea of what was involved as far as the number of men and rate. Then I decided to ask him and his company to do the move for me. From the beginning I found them to be courteous and professional.  They told me what dates they had available for my move and I picked one.The men came early and did an excellent job. They wrapped and packed the items, moved them to the new location and positioned the furniture where I asked . There was absolutely no damage and everything was done in a timely manner. Because of the nice job they did, I would definitely call them if I needed to move in the future.

PLEASE NOTE: I will only give a score of A+ to the 3 men who actually moved our items. Omar, Emilio and Benny. They were outstanding! They were on time, courteous, professional and took care of our items. They alone deserve the A+ scoring.

The 2 people, Al and Denise, seemed like we were disturbing them when we called. I called on 10/28 to get a quote for a move in November. I was given a quote by Denise for $120 per hour, with an approximate time of 7 hours.  I received a call from Al, the owner, the following day and he then tried to raise the rate by $5 per hour and an approximate time of 8 hours.  I stated I was given a $120 per hour quote already and a window of around 7 hours. He already knew this but tried to raise the rate anyway. He doesn't call unless he has the info in front of him. 
 Moving day came on November 19th. I called to confirm the time and Denise answered and seemed bothered that I called. REALLY???!   The complete moving time took 6 hours, including one hour travel time, which would come to $720.00. The mover handed us the phone for the final payment, and Al stated we now had to pay $840. I asked how did you come up with that?The moving men came at 8:30 am and finished at 1:40.pm. From 8:30 to 1:30 is 5 hours. Add one hour driving time, and that would make it a total of 6 hours. That equals to $720.00. He stated some bs and then said we had to pay $760, which is $40 extra. I did not feel like arguing over the phone as moving is stressful already. He is very dishonest!
I will never recommend them nor use them again.
Get your quotes in writing and keep track of your time like I did.

Al's Moving did a great job with my things.  I moved from a studio.   I was a little hesitant at first because they aren't "automated" computer-wise, and didn't  send computer generated estimates like some other companies do, but apparently that's the way they do things.  They are a little informal.  They did email me an estimate and that's what it ended up costing.  I also tried very hard to stick to my initial list.  
Moving crew was headed by Walter, who came with 3 other men to my apartment.  They told me they'd come first thing in the morning and they were prompt.  They were very polite, careful and moved at a fast pace.   They finished moving in a little over an hour.  In FL, Walter's crew came early on Sunday morning and again, did a great job.  Nothing was broken or missing and everything was handled with care.  They were just nice, polite guys.  I made the initial reservation with Al and followed up with Sandra in his office.  The office is very busy and they do call back.  Mine was not a huge job, but an average one, and it could not have gone smoother.  Also, they have an enormous rig so they can definitely handle a bigger job. If I do move out of FL, I will definitely call Al's Moving.

I have moved a number of times over the past 10 years (more than I'd like) and used Al's Moving for my previous two moves. Having been impressed with them before, I was happy to give them repeat business. Once again, I found this company to be professional to deal with. Albert came to the apartment to give me an accurate and binding price which I accepted (a quote from another company had been higher). Could I have found a company to have done the job for less? Probably, but personally I am prepared to pay for the peace of mind that comes with dealing with a reputable company (especially when it comes to moving, which is stressful enough without having to also worry about whether the movers will show up!). Prior to the move, I was contacted on a number of occasions by Sandra and Denise in the office to confirm all my details. It was reassuring to know that they were on top of everything. On moving day, the crew turned up on time at just before 9am. The five movers, led by Raul, were all extremely hard working and courteous. All the furniture was well wrapped up and treated with care. After a solid day of work, everything was moved into the new house by 5pm. Although I hope to never move again, I wouldn't think twice about going to Al's. They made it a very stress-free experience.
