WD Certified Contacting LLC

Writing this so that others don't find themselves in the same situation. Reached out to this company to redo my basement. Unbeknownst to us, he did not have time to perform this service for, so he referred us to someone who was using his email address and who we hired thinking it was WD Contracting with the A+ rating, but was really a convicted felon who swindled thousands of dollars from families both here in Nassau County and in Queens, NY. As of today, Derrick Burrell has stolen $32,000. of our money for work that he was supposed to perform, but did not. We have since learned that he has made a career of swindling others too: [*** Link removed ***] We have gone to the District Attorney and Consumer Affairs in an effort to try to recover our money and the investigation is now active. We were told by the owner of WD Contracting that we should have done our research on Derrick Burrell, but WD Contracting should not have forwarded our information to anyone and states that he did not know about Derrick Burrell past. So we say that he should have done his research before he referred us to a known convicted felon who is still out here operating without a license.
