J M & Son Painting Co

Everything went very well. The gentleman who did the job name is Allan Hyman and I don't know why it is called JM & son's because no one who owns or works there has a J or M in their name. I'm doing this review now because I just joined Angie's List and I want people to know about a great wallpaper and painting contractor. He wasn't the most expensive or the cheapest but after you talked to him  you knew he was the best man for the job. He is friendly, professional, hard working and a master  technician of his craft. I know this is such a glowing review but as you know it is hard to find people who you can feel safe with doing things that you can't do. So it is important to canvas a number of bids for a job but you should definitely include him in the bids.
P.S. If you plan to use him for a job have him help you choose what type of paint or wallpaper is appropriate for the rooms you plan to use them in so you don't buy the wrong type. Also he did some painting on the kitchen and bathroom ceiling and doors that wasn't contracted with some paints I had so in his opinion everything looked clean and neat. 

The expereince with JM & Son was outstanding, from start to finish.  Morris, the owner of the company, initially came to give us an estimate of the work requested and he explained the kind of prep/repair work he would make and the kinds of paints he would use.  He indicated that he only uses high quality paints from Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams and suggested that we look into these companies when making our color selections.  After receiving estimates from a few other companies, we decided to use Morris' services.  My husband felt that Morris was not only knowledgeable but that he was a "real craftsman who took pride in his work."  We were so glad we hired his company. Prior to the commencement of the job, Morris made an excellent recommendation about the color of the trim I had wanted to use; he indicated that the color I had chosen would not goive the "pop" to my other colors.  His son and painter Alan made another wonderful suggestion for the trim color; the results were beautiful for the different rooms.
The professionalism, courtesy, skills and artistry of Morris and Alan were most impressive.  They, along with their assistant, prepped the rooms for a day and a half.  We couldn't believe the care with which they sanded and resanded the walls until the surfaces were as clean and smooth as they could get.  We really appreciated and valued Morris' and Alan's insistence on quality work.  They even said that they don't know how to do anything else (i.e. less than quality work).  Although the job took longer than expected, due to unforesen circumstances, the painters never rushed just to complete the job.  They worked as diligently and as carefully on the last day as they did on the first day. We have never had such a positive experience with painters as we did with Morris and his crew.  They are a rarity in the business.
Needless to say, we were really pleased with the final results and will be using their services again in a few months. 

Excellent.  They arrived promptly to given an estimate in writing (which they gave me immediately).  They did an excellent  job of scrapping off the old paint. Some of the other esimates i received just wanted spray wash the house without scrapping.  They were professionsal, neat, the owner and his son were on the job at all times.  And they worked very quickly even taking down an old antannae that had been attached to the chimney. 
I will definitely use them again for a paintign project in the house.

They were excellent. They were very polite and cleaned up after themselves. They offered to do extra things but they didn't charge for it. They were the nicest contractors I've ever worked with.
