My entire conrete walkway project was slated for the late fall and was done as promised. The Job was started and completed in a timely fashion and I was truly satifsfied with the work done and the crew. David was personable and listened to my needs and delivered exactly what I wanted. He had competative pricing and paid attention to the details of his work. Area was cleaned up after the completion of the work to my satisfaction. I would definitely use him again for my masonary jobs. Thanks David.

Dave is simply amazing. He and his crew came out when he promised and got the job done quickly with no mess to clean up. My front stairs look amazing now and we could not be happier. If you are looking for an honest business professional Dave is your man.

It was thought that the old foundation could be supported and repaired. However as soon as work began the old foundation collapsed completely. At that point the quoted price doubled, as the old foundation (at the one side of concern).had to be removed and a new one engineered. I don't blame the mason; I think he's honest and certainly hard working. However, I'm not sure I would have undertaken the project if I had known the final cost. I have feeling that in the long run the foundation may outlive the barn Itself.

David Rolls and his assistant (Mario) showed up right on time. They assessed what needed to be done and worked quickly and professionally to accomplish the task. Since the work was being performed inside our home, we were concerned about mess. But Mario was meticulous, both in his technical knowledge of the task at hand as well has leaving the work area neat and cleaned. This is not the first occasion when we have hired Mr. Rolls for masonry projects. He has repointed old brick work on a front/side walk and cemented a porch as well as built concrete flooring atop a dirt garage floor. In every case, he either personally engaged in the work and/or closely supervised its performance. His pricing is fair and reasonable. He is reliable with excellent customer service skills. He really wants his customers to be satisfied. Will continue to call upon him and his crew for future work.

the work was done in less then two hours. I had another quote for the same work in the amount of $1,700.00 plus they wanted to replace the stainless steel chimney cap for $400.00 more. David (the owner) said the cap was in perfect condition. Also, I was getting quotes to re-do the interior face of the fireplace. The people I was interviewing warned me that the inside of the chimney was dangerously cracked and needed to be repaired at a cost of $4,850.00. This was a shock to me as no one ever pointed this out to me when prior work had been done. I called David and again he examined the matter. Conclusion: As I expected, Nothing wrong with the chimney.

David and his crew showed up promptly as expected and were very professional. He did a wonderful job on repairing the concrete area in front of my garage. His services are reasonably priced for the job required. He is very honest and dependable. He told me that I do not need to have any work done on my retaining wall at this time.

It could not have gone better. David determined that the front walk would be an easy fix - powerwash and reset the loose and missing stones. When assessing the patio, he said that over the years, it had dropped on one side and the rain water was not draining off away from the house as it should. He recommended removing all the stones from about half the patio, raising the concrete base and then resetting the stones. Because the patio had been in such disrepair, I had contemplated ripping it out entirely and having it redone which would have been a very expensive project. David said it was absolutely repairable and he was right. It looks brand new!

Mr. Rolls has done other work for us in the past, and we found him to be honest and fair throughout the process. He is a small business owner and personally involved with the work he does. He is not some big corporate contracting company where you never know who will actually be doing the work. We had other small repair jobs including fixing a front stoop that was falling apart and some chimney repair done in the past with good results so when we needed someone to pour a slab for a prefabricated garage he was an easy choice. The slab was a complex project involving excavation and needing to follow drawings as to the manufacturer's requirements. We made a few changes during the project and he accommodated them without complaint. In the end he built what was specified in a reasonable time frame and finished on budget.

The pricing was in between the other quotes I received - not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. The job ended up being more complex than expected, as sometimes happens with construction projects, but David worked with me to come to a mutually agreeable, reasonable solution. I chose this company because when he explained what would be done, it was detailed and had all of the steps I had expected. Some quotes from other people left out steps that I expected. At the end of the day, I probably paid a bit more than I initially wanted, but I received a level of service and professionalism that I was comfortable with. This is a good trade off from my perspective. We are very happy with the way the concrete floor was done.

David did excellent work. Was right on time with scheduled start. Power washed all the walls, treated with adhesion additive, parged, topped, and curb installed all in one day. Work looked fantastic, from the dye right down to the drip channels in the all corners and junctions. I expect this work to last a VERY long time. Only problem I had was not his fault! The masonry supply store I ordered my cultured stone from sent me the wrong color to match existing installation on the front of the house. Fortunately David's keen eye caught the mixup, and when the store did not believe me over the phone he went down in person on my behalf and showed them their error. Stone originally took me 8 weeks to get, he had it back and installed less than a week later. That is customer service, and that is where you get client loyalty. David and the crew left everything nice and clean as they found it, and I didn't find any left overs lurking in my pachysandra after the job. Additionally he didn't go into my house and indiscriminately use supplies from my garage to finish the job...like the previous mason. LOL If I ever need any more masonry work I would not think twice about calling him again. He stays up to date with current products on the market, whereas a lot of guys are resistant to learning anything new. He has a good eye and great insight. Solid contractor.

There was patches of cement falling from the side of the front steps. Also the sides of the chimney was peeling. I called several masonry but only Mr. Rolls came out and look at the work. He stated that the chimney needs replacing because part of the bricks was organic and will decompose and crack. The side of the steps had no same problem. We agree to have the chimney replace and side of the steps replaced. David said that he will start in a couple of weeks due to other jobs

The workers started in 2 weeks. They remove the chimney and found part of the plywood missing. The workers added insulation, tar paper, plywood to close the carpentry wall. They also replace a basement block wall. The workers were professional and finished the job in 2 days.

The only problems I had with Mr. Rolls was the contract was not detailed. My wife signed the contract. I wish I signed the contract and I would ask for more detail. for example I might have ask for the side of the steps to be replaced instead of patch.

Other than those items, the work was well done and would recommend Mr. Rolls.

Enclosed are before and after photos except the chimney. Did not feel like climb the roof for photos.

Mr. Rolls returned my phone call promptly.  He set up an appointment for an estimate and explained what had to be done.  The house is an old one, and although numerous patches have been done in the past, it was time to take care of all of the cracks and holes in the concrete walls and steps as well as the missing mortar between the brick steps and the brick edging on the patio.
He scheduled me, but had to delay because of rain and sudden temperature drops.  This was not a problem for me- the work needed to be done under dry conditions and above freezing. He called me on a Sunday evening to tell me he could do the work on the following day and I agreed.  The work was done neatly, professionally, and exceeded my expectations.
He returns phone calls, is professional, his men work quickly, are neat, and the work that is done is exceptional. I would use his services again.

Dave came an gave an estimate and was clear about what was required. He was very professional and obviously knowledgeable about what had to be done. He made it clear that we had to remove the top 11-12 courses and re install them. His men came promptly when scheduled and worked from morning until almost sunset in order to complete the job. The job was beautifully done and matched the existing brick. We even had to make a slight adjustment which he was more than willing to do to satisfy my request. I would definitely rehire him in the future.

David came over for a detailed description of what he planned to do including the time schedule. The work was completed quite quickly considering the amount of manual labor involved. He included me in any decision he had to make before following through, which was very professional.(The color of the concrete, and  exactly where I wanted to place the bluestone walkway .)        The only recommendation I have is I would have liked a professionally written contract, not a scribbled .(Hard to read the details of the project)  We are very happy with the results, a job well done!
