Description of Work: Someone told me my price was high, but I don't believe so, for the quality I received. John even gave me a "volume" discount. I.originally called Leakstoppers, for one leak, then remembered another flat roof that Brian discovered was inadequate. Then, I recalled that my basement floods in the same area every major rain storm. John estimated all 3 projects together , and did it in high spirits. We also spent an hour total, and a lot of it was just chatting and making me comfortable with his superior company Brian and his long term helpers moved my dirt to a lower level and patched some of the foundation. We also decided together. (I gave the leak my own analysis), that we needed another and better gutter system on the third level coming down. I did not tell John, the owner, my own opinion, at the time of the Analysis BUT knew he was the right man for the job when he , too saw this deficincy in my roofing design. Brian and company also extended the bottom gutter system, to 6 feet away from the foundation. This covers the front leaks. Now onto the leak I called about. It required a complete roof tear up and installation in a way that would not need another repair every few yrs. This was accomplished in one day and the front was started also. My leaks ended!!! I waited to write this review until I knew my problems were solved. A guarantee was not given in writing, but John verbally said if my leaks started again in a few years, he would of course make good. I do not expect any problems again with these areas, but will call Leak Stoppers if my 1928 house developes any other problems! Thank you Brian, Matt, and John!

Description of Work: One of 4 contractors that gave me estimates (3 from angieslist). Three just came and left a price in my mailbox. Those prices ranged from 4400 to 7000. Leakstoppers came when I was home after work. John inspected my roof and told me he could fix my leaks and clean off my roof for $1000. However, he informed me that my roof was about 21 years old and I would probably need a new roof in about 5 years. He even took my cell phone up on the roof and took pictures so I could see what he was talking about! He spent almost 90 minutes explaining what my options were and what repairs he would make or how a new roof would be applied. His price for a total new lifetime roof and other leak repairs was one of the lowest that I got. I opted to go with the new roof. (For me, that was what made the most sense).

Description of Work: I had a leak in a second floor deck. It was not the roof. Another contractor tried to sell me on a new roof which I knew would not have solved the problem. Anyway, Leak Stoppers identified the problem and explained the problem in detail to my wife and me. They completed the work in two days and were punctual ,neat and unobtrusive. When the work was done their foreman asked for a check and it was for the price agreed upon. This is what impressed me. They started and completed the work without asking for a deposit and it was only after the work was done and they were sure we were satisfied that they asked to be paid. Class organization all the way.

Description of Work: I called Leak Stoppers because of an occasional leak that came through my bathroom fan. John responded promptly and came out the next day to give me an estimate. He explained the probable cause of the leak and gave me 2 options for repair: one involved replacing 2 vent pipe boots and a bathroom flange and the other for just taring the areas. We decided to go with the less expensive option for now. John came back and did the work within a week.

Description of Work: contractor returned our call and the job was done at our convenience. Half of the cost was a new skylight cover which seems to of done the trick. Would recommend this company and use again if needed.

Description of Work: John came right out to diagnose the problem, made an appointment for the next dry day to fix the problem, which was the caulking around a dormer window (not the roof or flashing) and fixed the problem for a very reasonable price. I recommend this provider without reservation.

Description of Work: After an appointment was established for the 23rd of march between 11-1:00pm the company person never called neither showed. However the provider made an attempt to make good on the second appointment.

Description of Work: I had an appt from noon to 2pm, took the day off from work. I called @145pm to find out the arrival time. I received a return call advising he was running Lae, would be done in about an hour but had to get home and couldn't come today. When I indicated I needed it today since he had wasted my entire day after having to take day off, he indicated that these things happen. When I asked when he was going to let me know that he wasnt going to keep the appointment, he responded I just did, left you a message @201pm. He said he wasn't working tomorrow, saturday, as he had a parade to go to. When I in sited he needed to keep an appt, he said he could come maybe 730 or 8 sat morning. When I indictated I had apt outside the home @ 9am and I needed him to come today and wait, he said he couldn't and didnt appreciate my attitude. I hung up and mace a complaint to the Better Business Bureau.

Description of Work: When our home was completed in 1993, we soon discovered that we had serious problems with leaks. This problem was quite extensive, on one occasion allowing approximately 2 garbage pails full of water to enter the house. Each time it rained, we were forced to place dozens of receptacles around the house to contain the water. Several consultants and contractors had tried to fix these problems over the years, at a cost of over $20,000, with no effect. It appeared that none of these individuals were able to diagnose the ultimate cause of the leaks. Leak Stoppers recommended that's some drains be eliminated, and that the roof be redesigned to allow water to flow with fewer drains,using a technique called "cricketing." May also reinstalled some coping material, and laid down rubberized foundation material.

Description of Work: Re-attach rear leader pipe and gutter guard that had fallen off the house. Prep and seal front double window, trim, miters and lentil using Silicone2 to prevent further water from entering around the window.

Description of Work: Hurricane Irene damaged a large section of my 17 year old roof. The Ins adjuster suggested half of my roof needed to be replaced due to wind damage. Now my search was on. I was not an Angie's list subscriber then. I skeptically asked around and googled 'roof-repair'. Leak Stoppers was suggested to me from one of the commercial businesses I called. I looked them up online and felt good at what I saw on their website and elsewhere. I called & John spoke with an earnest confidence that they were the ones to trust for the job. John took his time talking to me and setting up the estimate date. Brian showed up on time to do the estimate. He was courteous and explained what needed to be done. This is what sold me: Brian did not see the Ins adjuster's numbers before he did his estimate and he did not go over what the Ins adjuster estimated it would cost to repair, maybe a difference of a couple of dollars. He knew what he was doing. The Accountant/Scheduler (Lisa) was such a pleasure to talk with over the phone. The men came on time and did the work and cleaned up afterwards. I am a Leak-stoppers Inc believer. John suggested that I join Angie's list to find other quality companies when I asked him to suggest a __________, and here i am. (I know now Angie's list could have saved me a lot of time searching for someone to repair my home) I look forward to doing business with various other companies listed within Angie's list.

Description of Work: My roof flashing had lifted up. I was told by 3 other roofers that I needed a new roof and gutters. 1 roofer was willing to repair the problem for $300. I expect to replce roof within 3 yrs and will call leak stoppers for sure.
