The tombstone my grandmother erected on our family plot only had one word on it: the family's surname. Before she died, my parents stated that they wanted first names and dates included. But the tombstone was not large; it was just a granite cross. My sister and I thought that we would have to remove the old stone and erect a new, larger one.
But Dolores Esposito at John Esposito Memorials looked at our snapshot of the grave, and saw another possibility. She suggested that we remove the stone, have it cleaned, and install a larger foundation base for the cross. This would allow ample room for what may someday include twelve interments.
We followed Dolores' suggestion. She contacted the cemetery and received the approvals necessary for the work -- not an easy task, because the cemetery is extremely rigid in their regulations and not pleasant to deal with.
When my sister and I went to Esposito Memorials to view the stone, we were amazed at what we saw. The gray tombstone was now restored to a beautiful white color. Dolores told us that originally, the cross had not been well mounted on the base. Esposito fixed this problem and removed some chips in the stone. Dolores was a perfectionist, and the stone shows the result. It looks beautiful.
I highly recommend John Esposito Memorials -- both for the quality of their work and the quality of their people.
(Please note that in "address where work was performed, " I put the date the tombstone was originally erected in place of "home build year."
