JDP Home Inspections

I used John for a home inspection in Brooklyn. I will say he was on time and that was it.. He was very unprofessional, did NOT see or mention any of the MAJOR issues going on with the property.. that I later found out the hard way $$$$.. He wrote a very vague useless report.. Everyone asks.. your inspector did not catch this; I do not want to write about my experience but you have been warned!! Save your time and money DO NOT USE John unless you have money to flush down the toilet! Please learn from my HUGE MISTAKE!!

He did not inspect the place properly and he was only talking with the agent and seller, he was only in the property only 20 minutes, he did not check the roof and now the roof has leak.

John was very pleasant to work with from the very first quotation to the after service support post inspection. He was a trooper for not only braving the torrential rain from Long Island to Manhattan but early for our appointment. The job was done less than 30mins with a detailed report the very next day. I highly recommend John!

John was very thorough and informative. He made good suggestions regarding things that needed immediate attention and things that could wait. I would definitely recommend him and/or use him in the future.

John is extremely knowledgeable and thorough in his profession and about his field and is easy to work with. I appreciate the constructive feedback he provided me over these past few days about an apartment I will be purchasing shortly, especially since I am a firsti-time homebuyer. Furthermore, I also appreciate that he drove all the way from Long Island to southwestern Brooklyn to perform this inspection on a summer weekend of all days. Working with John was a pleasure, and I would recommend him to anyone in search or need of a home inspection.

To start, he was an additional 30 minutes late after extending the start time of the appointment 30 minutes already (so total 1 hour late) along with looking like he just got out of a physical fight with someone. He didn?t have any tools to inspect the home. He only noticed possible issues when they were pointed out to him. When I paid him in cash, he said he would be right back with a receipt and just left without bringing me one. I then had to ask seven times for the receipt to be sent. I received the report 4 days after the inspection, when he said it would be sent within 48 hours. The report had major spelling errors so he didn?t even look it over before sending. Because of this poor quality of work- I feel scammed out of $500 and had to get another home inspector to look at the home. The second home inspector noticed several things that was missed by JDP Home inspections. I did reach out to see if he could give a partial refund for the terrible work he did, but no response. I would never recommend this company to another person who is in need of a home inspection. For his level of work, you can do it yourself and probably do a better job.

We had a great experience working with John! Friendly, prompt communication, competitive pricing compared to the other quotes we received, and within 24 hours of his visit to the property we received a very thorough and helpful report. Would recommend to others looking for home inspection services!

Worthy of a hire

A Diamond in the ruff. John was very knowledgeable, professional, and full of personality. He answered every question that I had, was fully involved with every aspect of inspection. When job was completed I received a detailed report along with photos addressing issues found in an east to understand format . Highly Recommend!!!

We recently worked with the company, Mr. Baker was very professional and the report is very detail and easy to read and understand. Overall we are very satistfy with the service the company provided.

If I could give him 0 star, I would. Don't hire him. He was responsive during the phone call just to get your business. On the day of inspection, he showed up late and said he went to the wrong direction. He tried to finish things within half an hour for a 2600 sq feet 4 bedroom and said he need to meet another client. He brought no equipment with him to do any testing on the electric or plumbing. He lied to us and claimed that he finished three rooms when he did not even turn on the faucet and the sink was dry. We ended up ask him to leave. Don't waste your time and money with John Backer.

John was timely, professional, and polite. Even after the inspection when I had a few follow-up questions and needed additional support with VA loan documentation, he was proactively responsive and eager to help. I would recommend using JDP anytime you need any home services going forward.

Very responsive and got the job done very fast. He was detailed and walked us through any potential issue, no matter how minor.

John is very knowledgeable and friendly. He did a thorough job in inspecting my apartment and offered great advice on repairs/replacement.

John was thorough and patient in answering all my questions. He truly went above and beyond in finding the causes to issues in my home and advising me on how to avoid those problems in the future. He also gave advice on how to advocate for certain things I need my difficult landlord to provide moving forward, which was very helpful.
