Brian did an excellent job. Tile was octagon in shape and he cut it so top and bottom of each section matched perfectly across the entire space. Very pleased with outcome

I found Husband For A Day on Angie's list and hiring Mr. McDeid was the best decision I made. He was responsive, professional and I am beyond excited with the quality of his work. I LOVE my new kitchen. I had a budget and we worked to figure out where I could or needed to spend the money to achieve the look and functionality I was going for and where I could save - new kitchen cabinets were costly so we made the decision to refurbish and move some of them. I couldn't be happier. My next project for Brian will be to build a kitchen island for my eat-in kitchen area. Can't wait!

Brian installed the toilet improperly. Asked him for many months to come back and stand by his work but he would not. The toilet is unlevel and the toilet seat wont stay up. Around the same time he did a sloppy job on kitchen flooring. Also wanted to be paid to fix where he cut corners and now mice are running through the house. We didn’t have either of these problems to begin with before we hired him. Also very difficult to communicate with and doesn’t like to give estimates so he can gouge you after you think you are paid in full.
Response from Husband For a Day
"Miss [Member Name Removed] purchased her beautiful but older seasonal lake house back in the fall of 2016 and I have been working for her right up through July of this year.  After working for Miss [Member Name Removed] for almost two years it's unfortunate it has come to this.  Regarding the toilet seat I agree the toilet seat won't stay up. I have since offered to fix it.  I still am offering to make this right. The floor in the bathroom is not level.  It was NOT installed by me it was installed by Home Depot and the original toilet was old and had to be replaced. I installed the new toilet and it is secure and flush with the floor, but the toilet seat won't stay up.  Again, I have offered to make this right.  Regarding the "sloppy" job on the kitchen flooring, I did NOT install any flooring in [Member Name Removed]'s house.  Home Depot installed it.  In the past couple years I have done TONS of work for Miss [Member Name Removed].  I painted the exterior of house, various repairs, installed windows, installed french doors, removed an interior wall to expand her porch and made it into year round living space, removed the dock, trimmed trees, removed debris to the dump, yard work, and many other repairs.  In addition, and because she lives in NJ and she rents out her house on the lake, she would call and ask me to address certain emergencies like check the pipes to see if they were frozen or deal with a squirrel issue because tenants were scheduled to be on site the next day which I did.  Obviously, my work and my pricing were satisfactory to Miss [Member Name Removed] or she wouldn't have continued to hire me or trust me with her credit card.  Unfortunately, things went downhill over a window job she wanted done.  She didn't agree with my estimate and I was not hired to do the job."

I've used Brian in the past-always is very prompt getting back to me. My lamp post wasn't working-sent Brian a text and he came out the very next day to fix it. Works great now.

He is good at coming promptly in a crisis such as broken doors etc,but expensive. On major jobs such as a remodel his quality is poor and he is very expensive. If you use him be sure to get a written contract in advance.
I only use him in emergencies.
Response from Husband For a Day
"Comments like this is why Angie list hurts us contractors customers say they will hire you again but your experience and your big remolding jobs are poor it discourages me .."
