My experience with them was quite good; great price, they did a wonderful job and helped us design something.  It was really nice.  They were very easy to work with and did a nice clean-up job.  I really liked them.  

Took down a little bit of siding on a peak that we had a vent on the outside of the house. Piece of siding that was up there was wood and rotten. They had to close off the hole that was there. Put in the new one which was nothing more than a decorative piece. They failed to go ahead any kind of paper over the existing wood up there. There is no shield and being exposed to weather. I would recommend you look for someone else because they don't know what they are doing.

Martin was very easy to work with and responsive to our questions, They started the job when we were told they would and finished on time as well. We are very happy we decided to go with Martin. They did a great job!

They did a great job. Price was very good and written estimate was provided. Martin was on-site, job was done quickly and looks great.

Martin was wonderful throughout the entire process - his crew was very friendly and professional, the work was done in a timely manner, and the end result is better than we ever expected. They were meticulous about cleaning up the worksite - you would never know they were there except for the brand new siding. Couldn't be happier - true professionals, would absolutely use them again, and recommend them highly!

We have wanted to replace our 40+ year-old cedar for about 10 years now, and have contacted several contractors over those years for proposals. It was our meeting with Marty Kaptein that motivated us to finally “take the plunge.” He’s down-to-earth, responsive, exceptionally competent, and he made very helpful suggestions. His quote was the most competitive by far - and he still achieved outstanding results. We have done many interior projects, but nothing as large or as visible as this job. It was a terrific experience to 1) develop confidence in his ability through our meetings with him before he started the work, and 2) to see the house transformed into an updated, beautiful home – confirming that our confidence in him was well placed. We could not recommend Marty more highly; his competence and customer orientation are the best we’ve experienced as homeowners for 25 years. Our initial contact with Martin began in March with a quote request. Martin was responsive and we met within a week where we received an initial quote. Martin was personable, knowledgeable and we felt no-pressure to make quick decisions. He made numerous suggestions on trim, colors etc and suggested we look at houses with similar siding. He said find a house you really like, give me the address and I'll get all the details! This turned out to be outstanding advice as looking at 3" square samples and web pages is completely different from looking at an entire house. Martin provided a list of houses he had done using colors we liked as well as the cedar shake style. For any potential vinyl siding buyers this is the only way to select colors and styles.
After 6 weeks of looking at representative homes we selected the color and style. We met with Martin a second time and made changes to the original contract, adding some additional work, and finalized on the price and tentative installation date.
A week before the start date Martin called to let us know that weather had delayed their current project and that he would start a few days late. I appreciated his regular contact and keeping us up to date on schedules.
On day one the crew arrived together with Martin and got down to business! The entire house was stripped in one day and by the end of day two all the insulation was up and the house was ready for siding installation. We discovered a rotten fascia board which was replaced free of charge. A 20-year old automatic light got damaged during the removal process and again this was replaced free of charge. The team was extremely careful around our plants and bushes taking care not to damage anything.
The siding and trim installation took about 10 days. The crew lost ~1.5 days to pouring rain. Martin was onsite each day working with the team ensuring quality installation. The crew members were all very friendly and respectful of our property and neighbors. It is clear that Martin and his team are all experienced craftsman and we are very pleased with the results!
After the installation was complete Martin gave us a few days to look over the house and see if everything was to our liking. He then came back for a final walk around and inspection. 
From day one Martin and his team did an excellent job! The price Martin quoted was fair and actually 20% lower that other A-rated Angie's list providers. I would highly recommend Martin Kaptein siding to anyone looking for high-quality siding installation.

Martin and his team did a great job. Finished all the repairs in one day. Fixed 11 window trims, the front door over hang as well
as other trim work. The price was the same as the estimate. We would definitely hire Martin again.

Martin Kaptein came out and gave us an estimate to install vinyl siding on our whole house. He came to our home 3 times prior to us signing a contract with him, to discuss the process, go over the materials and our options, and to help us make a final color selection. We did choose him to do the work and we are very pleased with the overall experience. We would highly recommend Martin and his team for similar work.
During the early decision-making process, we felt that Martin was patient and helpful and gave us honest advice without making us feel pressured. He made some great suggestions that we are very happy we went with, and he steered us away from other choices we were considering with helpful explanations of why he thought there were better alternatives. We appreciated that Martin listened to our needs, but also used his expertise to help us make the best decisions possible for us.
In addition to being less expensive than competitive estimates, we were most impressed by Martin's professionalism and personal attention during the whole experience. We always dealt directly with Martin. We loved that he has 1 crew, and works on 1 project at a time. This was a major selling point for us and made the installation phase extremely smooth and pleasant.
Our vinyl siding job was very big and we had some weather delays, so it took about 2 weeks to complete. The crew was very professional, polite and cleaned up after themselves each day when they were done. Martin himself was on-site at least a few hours each day, often on the roof doing the install himself. I was home during the entire install period and was able to watch them work, take photos, ask questions, etc. They were all very nice and I never felt uncomfortable with them at my home.
The quality of the work Martin and his team did was very good. We did have a few minor things that we noticed before they finished and asked for them to be fixed - a missing end cap, an uneven section near our front door, a broken doorbell (due to a short that occurred when they were working in that area). But these items were all fixed promptly, no questions asked, and at no cost to us. On a large home improvement project like this, we felt these few small things did not take away from the overall excellent work that Martin and his team performed. It's all about how they handle problems like these that inevitably come up, and Martin gets an A+ for that.
We were a bit surprised that a separate team of people came to install the gutters and downspouts after all the siding was up - Martin hadn't mentioned that to us beforehand. This was not the same crew who worked on the rest of the vinyl install. While I had limited interaction with them, my initial impression was that they were not as friendly and they seemed unnecessarily annoyed that I did not know exactly where the new gutters/downspouts were meant to go. All in all, the gutter-related work was done and seems satisfactory.
At the end of the project, Martin walked around the whole house with us, pointing out things we needed to know and making recommendations on how to clean and care for our new siding. He made sure to tell us that if anything happened in the future or we noticed any problems we should feel free to call him so he could take care of it.
As it happens, we did have to call him about 4 months after the install to come back and replace 2 pieces of under-siding (from our porch) that blew off in a major windstorm over the winter. In addition, we noticed that 1 row of our shingle-look tiles seemed to be slipping and bulging. I gave Martin a call and the next day he was at the house fixing those items. Again, sometimes little things go wrong but Martin's responsiveness and willingness to handle them without any disagreements or trouble was so refreshing!
We love our new vinyl siding. We have received so many compliments on it from friends and family. We really do think Martin and his team did a fantastic job and we would recommend them without reservation!

AWESOME! Working with a designer brings an objective set of eyes to a project and honestly extra scrutiny to accomplish the original vision... being a designer who is very particular about the little details that truly make a difference in the overall job, I found everyone of Martin's employees to be very polite, easy to work with and all ears to any input I had as I was not only the designer but Project Manager on this job. These gentleman truly enjoy working together. I highly recommend Martin and his team, and look forward to working with them again in the future!

Martin and his crew are terrific!! All of his workers were respectful and extremely professional. They showed up on time, worked hard all day, and clearly knew what they were doing. When I initially met with Martin, he made excellent suggestions to the design in terms of trim, color, and stonework and ways to save money without sacrificing quality and look. With the terrible weather this winter, Martin was great about contacting and updating me with their plan for scheduling the job based on weather. He handled every aspect of the job--I did not have to worry about anything. They cleaned up the job site every day and after the job was complete. His prices are very good--don't be fooled into thinking you will get anything but the highest quality workmanship because his prices are reasonable. The reason the prices are good is because these guys are very skilled/efficient and work extremely well together--when you are that skilled in your craft, you get the job done in half the time as someone that doesn't have the experience that these guys do. Highly recommend!!!

Excellent from start to finish. Reasonable price, quality work. Great crew and owner is always at site working side by side with crew, ensuring quality. Very fast and efficient, once they came in the worked until finished, I never felt like they were juggling multiple jobs.

This project went perfectly. Martin arrived as promised and did everything we had discussed. He made great suggestions and provided excellent cost-effective solutions for any problems that were obvious as well as for those encountered during the project. Craftsmanship and communications were absolutely fantastic. Attention to detail was consistent and perfectly performed.
The project consisted of the following steps:

1. - Tore off old siding
2. - Rebuilt entire rotted wood parts of porch frame
3. - Installed Dow board
4. - Installed dummy gable vent
5. - Installed trim
6. - Installed siding
7. - Installed new entrance lamp, doorbell, and house numbers that I purchased

Cleaned up each day. At the end came back to double check everything.
If you are even considering using anyone else for your siding project, do the following immediately:
- Stand in front of a mirror.
- Look directly into the mirror.
- Repeat the following 100 times in a loud voice: and quot;I must be an IDIOT!and quot;
