GLENDALE TREE & LANDSCAPE SVC

We met with Glen ( the owner ) shortly after we contacted him. We drew up a plan for landscaping the front of the house, a tree planting in the back of the house, and building a stacked stone wall to go with the front of the house landscape. After trying to get across our choices, he left with a $3000.00 check and we didn't hear from him until the 2nd week in May when he began our stone paver walkway. It took him 2 days to complete it and after it was dug oout on the first day, I told him I wanted a softer corner and actually shoveled it out while he stood by and watched. Needless to say, he did not give me the softer corner but what he had initially wanted to do. When he delivered 2 large trees he used a bobcat (which we were charged for) and that tore up our side lawn and our front lawn. He had one of the kids working with him throw down grass seed. He came back after Memorial day to finish the front landscaping. We had requested (and Glen specifically asked ) for a 3 trunk river birch for the front of the house. He brought us a 4 trunk and when I questioned him, he said he would cut one of the trunks off. I told him I wanted dark purple Iris, he brought light purple which looked awful. The next day, my husband and I took them out and replaced them with day lilies at our own cost. When I asked him about the bobcat tearing up my lawn, he said I needed a new law (practically screamed at me). We are extremely upset about the state of the lawn which his bobcat tore up twice. As for the rock wall, he brought in 5 boulders instead of the stacked stone wall and when we questioned him about that he said that we owed him $3,000 for the rest of the job. Everything was our fault rather than his. We have withheld partial payment until, and if, the lawn comes back.
