WATERFORD CLOCK CO

After contacting the Waterford Clock Company they responded in a very timely manner. There representative arrived at the agreed upon time. He was professional and courteous. He removed and packed the inner workings of the grandfather clock to prepare it for shipment by the movers.
I rated the price and quot;Band quot; because the time needed on location to prepare the clock for shipment was relatively short. Travel from Waterford Clock to the house was in excess of 60 miles round trip and unfortunately the travel time exceeded the needed to do the work on the clock.

The Clock Works people took the mechanism apart and actually showed me where the problems were and how they were affecting my issues. They gave me several choices of how to proceed and the pricese for each one. In the end, I choose to have the mechanism replaced for a price of $250 which I felt was reasonable since I had been spending $60+ with my previous provider only to have it back in the shop again before long. I had to follow up with them several times but I found them to be honest and professional.

We took a German Cuckoo Clock to them for repair. The movement and sounds had stopped as the chains would not move. They provided an estimate of best case and worst case cost. Work was performed in a timely manner, and the clock has been performing great for the two months since we picked it up. I would use them again.
For Angie's List a negative, the year the home was built is not relevant for a clock repair.

I have 5 - 100+ year old pendulum clocks brought in. If the clock isn't running it is as good as a boat anchor, right? So after and quot; other and quot; repairmen took a stab at the tune of $125.00 to repair my clocks ( two ) and a month later they had the same issues. Didn't keep correct time and the chimes were skipping. Paid a little more with Waterford, but pleased in the long run, brought in 3 more. All 5 keeping time and chiming correctly. I guess you get what you pay for.

The price charged was VERY high and higher than that quoted on the phone. There are very few clock service businesses around which allows them to charge these prices. I've had this clock serviced in four different states and not only never paid this much but also never had any problems post-service. The clock was working fine for about two weeks and then suddenly stopped. Service provider promised to get back to me about a and quot;cosmeticand quot; replacement part and never did.
Disappointing.

While I'm sad about the lack of availability of replacement parts for these clocks, I appreciated the service provided. The price charged was fair.
