 + -1 moreWe signed a contract for $35,000.00 and they never came to do the job. They contacted me after he started the job, like maybe one quarter of it. He ordered the materials, and hired sub-contractors. I paid him $35,000.00. If he would have done the job for that price, the price would have been wonderful. I have had to hire other people to do the job. I would never hire him again in the future. I would tell other people to stay away from them.
Description of Work: I signed a contract with Horizon Fiberglass Pools.

 + -1 moreThe process has been HORRIBLE. Mr. Thomson was never around to oversee his subs, he took money for work that was never done, and now we have an unleveled pool in our backyard that is green and un-swimmable and are out $70,000! We have not only paid Mr. Thomson in full but we have actually overpaid him by approximately $13,000 because of fees that we paid directly to his subs and a large amount of money paid to his concrete sub that we are no longer using. We are also owed several items what we paid for and never received, like an automatic cover. We have filed a lawsuit against Horizon Fiberglass Pools due to his lack of response on how he plans to fix our pool and the negligence we have encountered along the way. He now can no longer sell Viking Fiberglass Pools because of "accounting issues" with them but is now signed up with another company. This man does not have the experience required to install pools and I don't want anyone else to go through my nightmare.
Description of Work: On May 23, 2007 Mr. Thomson inserted our 16x40 Viking Fiberglass Pool into the ground. Right away there was a grading issue to deal with because, even though our land was essentially flat, when the pool was put into the ground, the back end was sticking out of the ground several feet. We then had to spend an extra $2,000 to bring in fill to bring the land up to the pool. Mr. Thomson never informed us that there could be a grading issue with our chosen pool location. The pool equipment which was installed is double the distance it should be from the pool and now needs to be moved. Neither Mr. Thomson nor his plumber informed us that pool equipment shouldn't be more than 30 feet from the pool. Ours is 80 feet. The biggest problem of all is that our pool is over 2 inches out of level. We have tried contacting Mr. Thomson to fix this problem and he has not responded to us. An out of level pool is a major problem that cannot be ignored and could cause serious problems down the road.
