We had a new roof installation a few years ago through JND. Initially the company appeared to be very professional and organized and presented a good plan for replacing the roof with quality products for a reasonable price. They also promised that the landscape would be unmolested after I inquired about this because I am an avid gardener and love my flowers.
After the roof was installed, the workers stated they didn't have enough time to install the gutters and would have to return in a week to install them. Upon inspection, the roof looked really nice, but I noticed they had forgotten to install venting on part of the roof as was discussed in the estimate and my garden looked as though an army had trampled through it. There was also a great deal of debris and nails throughout the yard as well. After contacting the owner and insisting he rectify the problems before being paid, he agreed to install the vent, have the yard picked up and also offered a gift card of $50 to replace the plants destroyed during the work. A few weeks later, the vent was installed and a gift card was sent. The yard was never picked up though and the gutters were not installed. I unfortunately made the mistake of paying him in full anyway because it appeared as though he was making a good faith effort. Needless to say, a few months later, the gutters were still not installed and the owner was not answering my calls. I turned to the Better Business Bureau who was able to get a response and finally get the gutters installed approximately 3 1/2 months after I had paid the company. After the first rain, we discovered the gutters were not pitched correctly so we had to have them out again to adjust the gutters which took another several weeks to arrange.
It is now a few years later and we noticed a few weeks ago that some of the shingles had begun to come loose. We contacted JND about this and were informed that the labor was only guaranteed 1 year and it would cost us $350 to have them come fix the shingles because it would take them an entire day of work. We told them to forget it and then asked another local company (Foxy) who did it for free. It took them about 15 minutes. My experience is that JND Construction provides terrible customer service, provides shoddy workmanship and does not back their work. I give them 2 thumbs down.
